The render and media GuCs share the same interrupt enable register, so
we can no longer disable interrupts when we disable communication for
one of the GuCs as this would impact the other GuC. Instead, we keep the
interrupts always enabled in HW and use a variable in the GuC structure
to determine if we want to service the received interrupts or not.

Some of the GuC state dump messages were adding extra line feeds. When
printing via a DRM printer to dmesg, for example, that messes up the
log formatting as it loses any prefixing from the printer. Given that
the extra line feeds are just in the middle of random bits of GuC
state, there isn't any real need for them. So just remove them
completely.

The current HuC status getparam return values are a bit confusing in
regards to what happens in some scenarios. In particular, most of the
error cases cause the ioctl to return an error, but a couple of them,
INIT_FAIL and LOAD_FAIL, are not explicitly handled and neither is
their expected return value documented; these 2 error cases therefore
end up into the catch-all umbrella of the "HuC not loaded" case, with
this case therefore including both some error scenarios and the load
in progress one.
The updates included in this patch change the handling so that all
error cases behave the same way, i.e. return an errno code, and so
that the HuC load in progress case is unambiguous.
The patch also includes a small change to the FW init path to make sure
we always transition to an error state if something goes wrong.

When we hook up interrupts (in the next patch), interrupts for the media
GT are still processed as part of the primary GT's interrupt flow. As
such, we should share the same IRQ lock with the primary GT. Let's
convert gt->irq_lock into a pointer and just point the media GT's
instance at the same lock the primary GT is using.

A new PVC+DG2 workaround has appeared recently:
- Wa_16015675438
And a couple existing DG2 workarounds have been extended to PVC:
- Wa_14015795083
- Wa_18018781329
Note that Wa_16015675438 asks us to program a register that is in the
0x2xxx range typically associated with the RCS engine, even though PVC
does not have an RCS. By default the GuC will think we've made a
mistake and throw an exception when it sees this register on a CCS
engine's save/restore list, so we need to pass an extra GuC control flag
to tell it that this is expected and not a problem.

Initiating a reset when the command streamer is not idle or in the
middle of executing an MI_FORCE_WAKE can result in a hang. Multiple
command streamers can be part of a single reset domain, so resetting one
would mean resetting all command streamers in that domain.
To workaround this, before initiating a reset, ensure that all command
streamers within that reset domain are either IDLE or are not executing
a MI_FORCE_WAKE.
Enable GuC PRE_PARSER WA bit so that GuC follows the WA sequence when
initiating engine-resets.
For gt-resets, ensure that i915 applies the WA sequence.

to execlists backend.

Update GuC ADS size allocation to include space for
the lists of error state capture register descriptors.
Then, populate GuC ADS with the lists of registers we want
GuC to report back to host on engine reset events. This list
should include global, engine-class and engine-instance
registers for every engine-class type on the current hardware.
Ensure we allocate a persistent store for the register lists
that are populated into ADS so that we don't need to allocate
memory during GT resets when GuC is reloaded and ADS population
happens again.
NOTE: Start with a sample static table of register lists to
layout the framework before adding real registers in subsequent
patch. This static register tables are a different format from
the ADS populated list.

Update to the latest GuC release.
The latest GuC firmware introduces a number of interface changes:
GuC may return NO_RESPONSE_RETRY message for requests sent over CTB.
Add support for this reply and try resending the request again as a
new CTB message.
A KLV (key-length-value) mechanism is now used for passing
configuration data such as CTB management.
With the new KLV scheme, the old CTB management actions are no longer
used and are removed.
Register capture on hang is now supported by GuC. Full i915 support
for this will be added by a later patch. A minimum support of
providing capture memory and register lists is required though, so add
that in.
The device id of the current platform needs to be provided at init time.
The 'poll CS' w/a (Wa_22012773006) was blanket enabled by previous
versions of GuC. It must now be explicitly requested by the KMD. So,
add in the code to turn it on when relevant.
The GuC log entry format has changed. This requires adding a new field
to the log header structure to mark the wrap point at the end of the
buffer (as the buffer size is no longer a multiple of the log entry
size).
New CTB notification messages are now sent for some things that were
previously only sent via MMIO notifications.
Of these, the crash dump notification was not really being handled by
i915. It called the log flush code but that only flushed the regular
debug log and then only if relay logging was enabled. So just report
an error message instead.
The 'exception' notification was just being ignored completely. So add
an error message for that as well.
Note that in either the crash dump or the exception case, the GuC is
basically dead. The KMD will detect this via the heartbeat and trigger
both an error log (which will include the crash dump as part of the
GuC log) and a GT reset. So no other processing is really required.

We really only need memcpy restore for objects that affect the
operability of the migrate context. That is, primarily the page-table
objects of the migrate VM.
Add an object flag, I915_BO_ALLOC_PM_EARLY for objects that need early
restores using memcpy and a way to assign LMEM page-table object flags
to be used by the vms.
Restore objects without this flag with the gpu blitter and only objects
carrying the flag using TTM memcpy.
Initially mark the migrate, gt, gtt and vgpu vms to use this flag, and
defer for a later audit which vms actually need it. Most importantly, user-
allocated vms with pinned page-table objects can be restored using the
blitter.
Performance-wise memcpy restore is probably as fast as gpu restore if not
faster, but using gpu restore will help tackling future restrictions in
mappable LMEM size.
v4:
- Don't mark the aliasing ppgtt page table flags for early resume, but

to put all other objects in there as well. Note that we don't fall back

This feature hands over the control of HW RC6 to the GuC.
GuC decides when to put HW into RC6 based on it's internal
busyness algorithms.
GuCRC needs GuC submission to be enabled, and only

When GuCRC is enabled, do not set HW RC6. Use a H2G message

The media watchdog mechanism involves GuC doing a silent reset and
continue of the hung context. This requires the i915 driver provide a

The new GuC interface introduces an MMIO H2G command,
INTEL_GUC_ACTION_RESET_CLIENT, which is used to implement suspend. This
MMIO tears down any active contexts generating a context reset G2H CTB
for each. Once that step completes the GuC tears down the CTB
channels. It is safe to suspend once this MMIO H2G command completes
and all G2H CTBs have been processed. In practice the i915 will likely
never receive a G2H as suspend should only be called after the GPU is
idle.
Resume is implemented in the same manner as before - simply reload the
GuC firmware and reinitialize everything (e.g. CTB channels, contexts,
etc..).

Reset implementation for new GuC interface. This is the legacy reset
implementation which is called when the i915 owns the engine hang check.
Future patches will offload the engine hang check to GuC but we will
continue to maintain this legacy path as a fallback and this code path
is also required if the GuC dies.
With the new GuC interface it is not possible to reset individual
engines - it is only possible to reset the GPU entirely. This patch
forces an entire chip reset if any engine hangs.

Drop the variable guc->interrupts.enabled as this variable is just
leading to bugs creeping into the code.
e.g. A full GPU reset disables the GuC interrupts but forgot to clear
guc->interrupts.enabled, guc->interrupts.enabled being true suppresses
interrupts from getting re-enabled and now we are broken.
It is harmless to enable interrupt while already enabled so let's just

Delete GuC code unused in future patches that rewrite the GuC interface
to work with the new firmware. Most of the code deleted relates to
workqueues or execlist port. The code is safe to remove because we still
don't allow GuC submission to be enabled, even when overriding the
modparam, so it currently can't be reached.
The defines + structs for the process descriptor and workqueue remain.
Although the new GuC interface does not require either of these for the
normal submission path multi-lrc submission does. The usage of the
process descriptor and workqueue for multi-lrc will be quite different
from the code that is deleted in this patch. A future patch will
implement multi-lrc submission.

The latest GuC firmware includes a number of interface changes that
require driver updates to match.
* Starting from Gen11, the ID to be provided to GuC needs to contain
the engine class in bits [0..2] and the instance in bits [3..6].
NOTE: this patch breaks pointer dereferences in some existing GuC
functions that use the guc_id to dereference arrays but these functions
are not used for now as we have GuC submission disabled and we will
update these functions in follow up patch which requires new IDs.
* The new GuC requires the additional data structure (ADS) and associated
'private_data' pointer to be setup. This is basically a scratch area
of memory that the GuC owns. The size is read from the CSS header.
* There is now a physical to logical engine mapping table in the ADS
which needs to be configured in order for the firmware to load. For
now, the table is initialised with a 1 to 1 mapping.
* GUC_CTL_CTXINFO has been removed from the initialization params.
* reg_state_buffer is maintained internally by the GuC as part of
the private data.
* The ADS layout has changed significantly. This patch updates the
shared structure and also adds better documentation of the layout.
* While i915 does not use GuC doorbells, the firmware now requires
that some initialisation is done.
* The number of engine classes and instances supported in the ADS has
been increased.

The power well that we've been referring to as the 'blitter' well is
actually more of a general GT power well which contains a lot of things
other than the blitter engine registers. The FORCEWAKE_BLITTER name in

familiar with this area of the code. Let's rename it to FORCEWAKE_GT to

We currently initialize HuC support based on GuC being enabled in
modparam; this means that huc_is_supported() can return false on HW that
does have a HuC when enable_guc=0. The rationale for this behavior is
that HuC requires GuC for authentication and therefore is not supported
by itself. However, we do not allow defining HuC fw wthout GuC fw and
selecting HuC in modparam implicitly selects GuC as well, so we can't
actually hit a scenario where HuC is selected alone. Therefore, we can
flip the support check to reflect the HW capabilities and fw
availability, which is more intuitive and will make it cleaner to log
HuC the difference between not supported in HW and not selected.
Removing the difference between GuC and HuC also allows us to simplify
the init_early, since we don't need to differentiate the support based
on the type of uC.

We are quite trigger happy in cleaning up the firmware blobs, as we do
so from several error/fini paths in GuC/HuC/uC code. We do have the
__uc_cleanup_firmwares cleanup function, which unwinds
__uc_fetch_firmwares and is already called both from the error path of
gem_init and from gem_driver_release, so let's stop cleaning up from
all the other paths.
The fact that we're not cleaning the firmware immediately means that
we can't consider firmware availability as an indication of
initialization success. A "LOADABLE" status has been added to
indicate that the initialization was successful, to be used to
selectively load HuC only if HuC init has completed (HuC init failure
is not considered a fatal error).

Now that we can differentiate wants vs uses GuC/HuC, intel_uc_init is
restricted to running only if we have successfully fetched the required
blob(s) and are committed to using the microcontroller(s).
The only remaining thing that can go wrong in uc_init is the allocation
of GuC/HuC related objects; if we get such a failure better to bail out
immediately instead of wedging later, like we do for e.g.
intel_engines_init, since without objects we can't use the HW, including
not being able to attempt the firmware load.
While at it, remove the unneeded fw_cleanup call (this is handled
outside of gt_init) and add a probe failure injection point for testing.
Also, update the logs for <g/h>uc_init failures to probe_failure() since
they will cause the driver load to fail.

On Braswell and Broxton (also known as Valleyview and Apollolake), we
need to serialise updates of the GGTT using the big stop_machine()
hammer. This has the side effect of appearing to lockdep as a possible
reclaim (since it uses the cpuhp mutex and that is tainted by per-cpu
allocations). However, we want to use vm->mutex (including ggtt->mutex)
from within the shrinker and so must avoid such possible taints. For this
purpose, we introduced the asynchronous vma binding and we can apply it
to the PIN_GLOBAL so long as take care to add the necessary waits for

The Gen11+ and the legacy function differ in the register and value
written to interrupt the GuC. However, while on older gen the value
matches a bit on the register, on Gen11+ the value is a SW defined
payload that is sent to the FW. Since the FW behaves the same no matter
what value we pass to it, we can just write the same thing on all gens
and get rid of the function pointer by saving the register offset.
