2022-09-03wifi: use struct_group to copy addressesJohannes Berg1-2/+2
We sometimes copy all the addresses from the 802.11 header for the AAD, which may cause complaints from fortify checks. Use struct_group() to avoid the compiler warnings/errors. Change-Id: Ic3ea389105e7813b22095b295079eecdabde5045 Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>

2022-05-16mac80211: unify CCMP/GCMP AAD constructionJohannes Berg1-56/+31
Ping-Ke's previous patch adjusted the CCMP AAD construction to properly take the order bit into account, but failed to update the (identical) GCMP AAD construction as well. 2021-09-27mac80211: fix use-after-free in CCMP/GCMP RXJohannes Berg1-0/+6
When PN checking is done in mac80211, for fragmentation we need to copy the PN to the RX struct so we can later use it to do a comparison, since commit bf30ca922a0c ("mac80211: check defrag PN against current frame"). Unfortunately, in that commit I used the 'hdr' variable without it being necessarily valid, so use-after-free could occur if it was necessary to reallocate (parts of) the frame. Fix this by reloading the variable after the code that results in the reallocations, if any. This fixes https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=214401. 2021-05-11mac80211: check defrag PN against current frameJohannes Berg1-4/+9
As pointed out by Mathy Vanhoef, we implement the RX PN check on fragmented frames incorrectly - we check against the last received PN prior to the new frame, rather than to the one in this frame itself. Prior patches addressed the security issue here, but in order to be able to reason better about the code, fix it to really compare against the current frame's PN, not the last stored one. 2019-06-20net/mac80211: move WEP handling to ARC4 library interfaceArd Biesheuvel1-2/+2
The WEP code in the mac80211 subsystem currently uses the crypto API to access the arc4 (RC4) cipher, which is overly complicated, and doesn't really have an upside in this particular case, since ciphers are always synchronous and therefore always implemented in software. Given that we have no accelerated software implementations either, it is much more straightforward to invoke a generic library interface directly. 2019-05-28mac80211: Do not use stack memory with scatterlist for GMACJouni Malinen1-1/+6
ieee80211_aes_gmac() uses the mic argument directly in sg_set_buf() and that does not allow use of stack memory (e.g., BUG_ON() is hit in sg_set_buf() with CONFIG_DEBUG_SG). BIP GMAC TX side is fine for this since it can use the skb data buffer, but the RX side was using a stack variable for deriving the local MIC value to compare against the received one. Fix this by allocating heap memory for the mic buffer. This was found with hwsim test case ap_cipher_bip_gmac_128 hitting that BUG_ON() and kernel panic. 2017-06-16networking: make skb_put & friends return void pointersJohannes Berg1-3/+3
It seems like a historic accident that these return unsigned char *, and in many places that means casts are required, more often than not. Make these functions (skb_put, __skb_put and pskb_put) return void * and remove all the casts across the tree, adding a (u8 *) cast only where the unsigned char pointer was used directly, all done with the following spatch: @@ expression SKB, LEN; typedef u8; identifier fn = { skb_put, __skb_put }; @@ - *(fn(SKB, LEN)) + *(u8 *)fn(SKB, LEN) @@ expression E, SKB, LEN; identifier fn = { skb_put, __skb_put }; type T; @@ - E = ((T *)(fn(SKB, LEN))) + E = fn(SKB, LEN) which actually doesn't cover pskb_put since there are only three users overall. A handful of stragglers were converted manually, notably a macro in drivers/isdn/i4l/isdn_bsdcomp.c and, oddly enough, one of the many instances in net/bluetooth/hci_sock.c. 2016-10-19mac80211: add a HW flag for supporting HW TX fragmentationSara Sharon1-1/+1

2016-10-17mac80211: move struct aead_req off the stackArd Biesheuvel1-13/+9
Some crypto implementations (such as the generic CCM wrapper in crypto/) use scatterlists to map fields of private data in their struct aead_req. This means these data structures cannot live in the vmalloc area, which means that they cannot live on the stack (with CONFIG_VMAP_STACK.) This currently occurs only with the generic software implementation, but the private data and usage is implementation specific, so move the whole data structures off the stack into heap by allocating every time we need to use them. In addition, take care not to put any of our own stack allocations into scatterlists. This involves reserving some extra room when allocating the aead_request structures, and referring to those allocations in the scatter- lists (while copying the data from the stack before the crypto operation) Signed-off-by: Ard Biesheuvel <ard.biesheuvel@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2016-05-12mac80211: allow same PN for AMSDU sub-framesSara Sharon1-4/+12

2016-04-05mac80211: allow not sending MIC up from driver for HW cryptoSara Sharon1-12/+14
When HW crypto is used, there's no need for the CCMP/GCMP MIC to be available to mac80211, and the hardware might have removed it already after checking. The MIC is also useless to have when the frame is already decrypted, so allow indicating that it's not present. Since we are running out of bits in mac80211_rx_flags, make the flags field a u64. 2016-02-24mac80211: move TKIP TX IVs to public part of key structEliad Peller1-7/+4
Some drivers/devices might want to set the IVs by themselves (and still let mac80211 generate MMIC). Specifically, this is needed when the device does offloading at certain times, and the driver has to make sure that the IVs of new tx frames (from the host) are synchronized with IVs that were potentially used during the offloading. Similarly to CCMP, move the TX IVs of TKIP keys to the public part of the key struct, and export a function to add the IV right into the crypto header. The public tx_pn field is defined as atomic64, so define TKIP_PN_TO_IV16/32 helper macros to convert it to iv16/32 when needed. Since the iv32 used for the p1k cache is taken directly from the frame, we can safely remove iv16/32 from being protected by tkip.txlock. 2015-07-17mac80211: support device/driver PN check for CCMP/GCMPJohannes Berg1-38/+45
When there are multiple RX queues, the PN checks in mac80211 cannot be used since packets might be processed out of order on different CPUs. Allow the driver to report that the PN has been checked, drivers that will use multi-queue RX will have to set this flag. For now, the flag is only valid when the frame has been decrypted, in theory that restriction doesn't have to be there, but in practice the hardware will have decrypted the frame already. 2015-06-02mac80211: move TX PN to public part of key structJohannes Berg1-5/+5
For drivers supporting TSO or similar features, but that still have PN assignment in software, there's a need to have some memory to store the current PN value. As mac80211 already stores this and it's somewhat complicated to add a per-driver area to the key struct (due to the dynamic sizing thereof) it makes sense to just move the TX PN to the keyconf, i.e. the public part of the key struct. As TKIP is more complicated and we won't able to offload it in this way right now (fast-xmit is skipped for TKIP unless the HW does it all, and our hardware needs MMIC calculation in software) I've not moved that for now - it's possible but requires exposing a lot of the internal TKIP state. As an bonus side effect, we can remove a lot of code by assuming the keyseq struct has a certain layout - with BUILD_BUG_ON to verify it. This might also improve performance, since now TX and RX no longer share a cacheline. This adds generic cipher scheme support to mac80211, such schemes are fully under control by the driver. On hw registration drivers may specify additional HW ciphers with a scheme how these ciphers have to be handled by mac80211 TX/RR. A cipher scheme specifies a cipher suite value, a size of the security header to be added to or stripped from frames and how the PN is to be verified on RX. 2013-10-11mac80211: port CCMP to cryptoapi's CCM driverArd Biesheuvel1-24/+20
Use the generic CCM aead chaining mode driver rather than a local implementation that sits right on top of the core AES cipher. This allows the use of accelerated implementations of either CCM as a whole or the CTR mode which it encapsulates. 2013-05-16wireless: move crypto constants to ieee80211.hJohannes Berg1-32/+36
mac80211 and the Intel drivers all define crypto constants, move them to ieee80211.h instead. Reviewed-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2013-02-15mac80211: use spin_lock_bh() for TKIP lockJohannes Berg1-3/+2
Since no driver calls the TKIP functions from interrupt context, there's no need to use spin_lock_irqsave(). Just use spin_lock_bh() (and spin_lock() in the TX path where we're in a BH or they're already disabled.) Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2012-12-05mac80211: add debug file for mic failureSaravana1-1/+4
The mic failure count provides the number of mic failures that have happened on a given key (without a countermeasure being started, since that would remove the key). Signed-off-by: Saravana <saravanad@posedge.com> [fix NULL pointer issues] Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>

2012-10-15mac80211: check if key has TKIP type before updating IVStanislaw Gruszka1-1/+2
This patch fix corruption which can manifest itself by following crash when switching on rfkill switch with rt2x00 driver: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/attachment.cgi?id=615362 Pointer key->u.ccmp.tfm of group key get corrupted in: ieee80211_rx_h_michael_mic_verify(): /* update IV in key information to be able to detect replays */ rx->key->u.tkip.rx[rx->security_idx].iv32 = rx->tkip_iv32; rx->key->u.tkip.rx[rx->security_idx].iv16 = rx->tkip_iv16; because rt2x00 always set RX_FLAG_MMIC_STRIPPED, even if key is not TKIP. We already check type of the key in different path in ieee80211_rx_h_michael_mic_verify() function, so adding additional check here is reasonable. 2012-10-01mac80211: Fix FC masking in BIP AAD generationJouni Malinen1-3/+8
The bits used in the mask were off-by-one and ended up masking PwrMgt, MoreData, Protected fields instead of Retry, PwrMgt, MoreData. Fix this and to mask the correct fields. While doing so, convert the code to mask the full FC using IEEE80211_FCTL_* defines similarly to how CCMP AAD is built. Since BIP is used only with broadcast/multicast management frames, the Retry field is always 0 in these frames. The Protected field is also zero to maintain backwards compatibility. As such, the incorrect mask here does not really cause any problems for valid frames. In theory, an invalid BIP frame with Retry or Protected field set to 1 could be rejected because of BIP validation. However, no such frame should show up with standard compliant implementations, so this does not cause problems in normal BIP use.
