2022-03-20netfilter: nf_tables: do not reduce read-only expressionsPablo Neira Ayuso1-0/+1
Skip register tracking for expressions that perform read-only operations on the registers. Define and use a cookie pointer NFT_REDUCE_READONLY to avoid defining stubs for these expressions. This patch re-enables register tracking which was disabled in ed5f85d42290 ("netfilter: nf_tables: disable register tracking"). Follow up patches add remaining register tracking for existing expressions. Signed-off-by: Pablo Neira Ayuso <pablo@netfilter.org>

This allows to change storage placement later on without changing readers. Signed-off-by: Florian Westphal <fw@strlen.de> Signed-off-by: Pablo Neira Ayuso <pablo@netfilter.org>
2020-12-01netfilter: use actual socket sk for REJECT actionJan Engelhardt1-1/+2
True to the message of commit v5.10-rc1-105-g46d6c5ae953c, _do_ actually make use of state->sk when possible, such as in the REJECT modules. Reported-by: Minqiang Chen <ptpt52@gmail.com> Cc: Jason A. 2020-06-25netfilter: Add MODULE_DESCRIPTION entries to kernel modulesRob Gill1-0/+1
The user tool modinfo is used to get information on kernel modules, including a description where it is available. This patch adds a brief MODULE_DESCRIPTION to netfilter kernel modules (descriptions taken from Kconfig file or code comments) Signed-off-by: Rob Gill <rrobgill@protonmail.com> Signed-off-by: Pablo Neira Ayuso <pablo@netfilter.org>

2016-11-03netfilter: nf_tables: use hook state from xt_action_param structurePablo Neira Ayuso1-3/+3
Don't copy relevant fields from hook state structure, instead use the one that is already available in struct xt_action_param. This patch also adds a set of new wrapper functions to fetch relevant hook state structure fields. Signed-off-by: Pablo Neira Ayuso <pablo@netfilter.org>

After I add the nft rule "nft add rule filter prerouting reject with tcp reset", kernel panic happened on my system: NULL pointer dereference at ... So we restrict reject expression to INPUT, FORWARD and OUTPUT chain. This is consistent with iptables REJECT target. 2015-09-18netfilter: nf_tables: kill nft_pktinfo.opsEric W. Biederman1-3/+2
- Add nft_pktinfo.pf to replace ops->pf - Add nft_pktinfo.hook to replace ops->hooknum This simplifies the code, makes it more readable, and likely reduces cache line misses. Maintainability is enhanced as the details of nft_hook_ops are of no concern to the recpients of nft_pktinfo. Signed-off-by: "Eric W. 2015-04-13netfilter: nf_tables: get rid of NFT_REG_VERDICT usagePatrick McHardy1-2/+2
Replace the array of registers passed to expressions by a struct nft_regs, containing the verdict as a seperate member, which aliases to the NFT_REG_VERDICT register. This is needed to seperate the verdict from the data registers completely, so their size can be changed. 2015-04-08netfilter: Fix switch statement warnings with recent gcc.David Miller1-0/+2
More recent GCC warns about two kinds of switch statement uses: 1) Switching on an enumeration, but not having an explicit case statement for all members of the enumeration. To show the compiler this is intentional, we simply add a default case with nothing more than a break statement. 2) Switching on a boolean value. I think this warning is dumb but nevertheless you get it wholesale with -Wswitch. This patch cures all such warnings in netfilter. Signed-off-by: David S. 2014-02-06netfilter: nft_reject: split up reject module into IPv4 and IPv6 specifc partsPatrick McHardy1-0/+75
Currently the nft_reject module depends on symbols from ipv6. This is wrong since no generic module should force IPv6 support to be loaded. Split up the module into AF-specific and a generic part. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: Pablo Neira Ayuso <pablo@netfilter.org>
