2022-09-05usb: clean up after dropping driver registration log spamArd Biesheuvel1-2/+0
Drop another couple of pointless pr_info() calls, and drop a number of instances of hcd_name variables that are no longer referenced now that they are no longer printed to the log at driver registration time. 2022-08-31usb: reduce kernel log spam on driver registrationArd Biesheuvel1-2/+0
Drivers are typically supposed to be quiet unless they are actually probed, but for some reason, USB host controllers seem to be exempt from this rule, and happily broadcast their existence into the kernel log at boot even if the hardware in question is nowhere to be found. Let's fix that, and remove these pr_info() calls. 2019-07-30usb: Remove dev_err() usage after platform_get_irq()Stephen Boyd1-3/+1
We don't need dev_err() messages when platform_get_irq() fails now that platform_get_irq() prints an error message itself when something goes wrong. Let's remove these prints with a simple semantic patch. // <smpl> @@ expression ret; struct platform_device *E; @@ ret = ( platform_get_irq(E, ...) | platform_get_irq_byname(E, ...) ); if ( \( ret < 0 \| ret <= 0 \) ) { ( -if (ret != -EPROBE_DEFER) -{ ... -dev_err(...); -... } | ... -dev_err(...); ) ... } // </smpl> While we're here, remove braces on if statements that only have one statement (manually). 2017-11-07USB: host: ehci: Remove redundant license textGreg Kroah-Hartman1-4/+0
Now that the SPDX tag is in all USB files, that identifies the license in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text wording can be removed as it is no longer needed at all. This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never needed. No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed. 2017-11-04USB: add SPDX identifiers to all remaining files in drivers/usb/Greg Kroah-Hartman1-0/+1
It's good to have SPDX identifiers in all files to make it easier to audit the kernel tree for correct licenses. Update the drivers/usb/ and include/linux/usb* files with the correct SPDX license identifier based on the license text in the file itself. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. This work is based on a script and data from Thomas Gleixner, Philippe Ombredanne, and Kate Stewart. 2016-06-30usb: host: ehci-st: Inform the reset framework that our reset line may be sharedLee Jones1-2/+4
On the STiH410 B2120 development board the ST EHCI IP shares its reset line with the OHCI IP. New functionality in the reset subsystems forces consumers to be explicit when requesting shared/exclusive reset lines. 2014-09-23usb: host: ehci-st: Add EHCI support for ST STB devicesPeter Griffin1-0/+375
This patch adds the glue code required to ensure the on-chip EHCI controller works on STi consumer electronics SoC's from STMicroelectronics. It mainly manages the setting and enabling of the relevant clocks and manages the reset / power signals to the IP block.
