2015-10-28mwifiex: toggle carrier state in start_ap/stop_ap.Marty Faltesek1-0/+8
In uap mode the carrier is not enabled until after the first STA joins. The carrier triggers the bridge to start its state machine, and if STP is enabled, it takes 4 seconds as it transitions from disabled to forwarding. During this time the bridge drops all traffic, and the EAPOL handshake times out after 3 seconds, preventing stations from joining. Follow the logic used in mac80211 and start the carrier in start_ap and disable it in stop_ap. This has a nice benefit of allowing the first station connection time to be reduced by up to 75% when STP is in use. This patch fixes following issues in p2p code paths. 1) bss role, bss type and connection type was not set correctly for p2p GO and p2p client at couple of places. 2) Driver appends a proprietary header to management frames which will be parsed by our firmware. Later while informing TX status to cfg80211, modified frame buffer was passed to cfg80211_mgmt_tx_status() instead of original one. 2015-07-21mwifiex: avoid freeing improper pointer in mwifiex_set_wowlan_mef_entryJohn Linville1-2/+6
mwifiex_set_wowlan_mef_entry attempts to free a passed-in pointer in case of an error. The only caller (mwifiex_set_mef_filter) passes that pointer as an offset into allocated memory, so any attempt to free that will not be the actual allocated pointer. Address this by changing mwifiex_set_wowlan_mef_entry to not do any free, and to cause mwifiex_set_mef_filter to do the appropriate free if the call to mwifiex_set_wowlan_mef_entry fails. 2015-07-21mwifiex: separate interface combination for multichannel and DFSAvinash Patil1-3/+22
Multichannel and DFS cannot be supported at same time. So when multichannel operation is enabled by module parameter, we enable number of channel as 2 while registering wiphy. For all other cases we advertise DFS support to cfg80211. Patch also adds support for radar detect widths parameter. 2015-07-21mwifiex: update domain_info upon band change in start_apAvinash Patil1-1/+1
It was observed that AP beacons would not reflect correct regulatory information upon starting AP in A band. This was because of missing AP config band update in set_channel of start_ap. Also we configure 11D settings info FW only for specific band. So we need to download domain info to FW even if domain remains unchanged but band is changed. This will expose in /sys whether the ifname of a device is set by userspace or generated by the kernel. The latter kind (wlanX, etc) is not deterministic, so userspace needs to rename these devices to names that are guaranteed to stay the same between reboots. The former, however should never be renamed, so userspace needs to be able to reliably tell the difference. 2015-03-03cfg80211: add bss_type and privacy arguments in cfg80211_get_bss()Dedy Lansky1-4/+4
802.11ad adds new a network type (PBSS) and changes the capability field interpretation for the DMG (60G) band. The same 2 bits that were interpreted as "ESS" and "IBSS" before are re-used as a 2-bit field with 3 valid values (and 1 reserved). Valid values are: "IBSS", "PBSS" (new) and "AP". In order to get the BSS struct for the new PBSS networks, change the cfg80211_get_bss() function to take a new enum ieee80211_bss_type argument with the valid network types, as "capa_mask" and "capa_val" no longer work correctly (the search must be band-aware now.) The remaining bits in "capa_mask" and "capa_val" are used only for privacy matching so replace those two with a privacy enum as well. wdev is used even after del_virtual_interface handler in cfg80211 in nl80211_post_doit. Since we have freed wdev in handling of del_virtual_intf, this can result into crash while deleting interface. 2015-01-15cfg80211: change bandwidth reporting to explicit fieldJohannes Berg1-5/+6
For some reason, we made the bandwidth separate flags, which is rather confusing - a single rate cannot have different bandwidths at the same time. Change this to no longer be flags but use a separate field for the bandwidth ('bw') instead. While at it, add support for 5 and 10 MHz rates - these are reported as regular legacy rates with their real bitrate, but tagged as 5/10 now to make it easier to distinguish them. This is really just duplicating the list of information that's already available in the nl80211 attribute, so remove the list. Two small changes are needed: * remove STATION_INFO_ASSOC_REQ_IES complete, but the length (assoc_req_ies_len) can be used instead * add NL80211_STA_INFO_RX_DROP_MISC which exists internally but not in nl80211 yet This gets rid of the duplicate maintenance of the two lists.
