This patch converts the cx231xx driver to the vb2 framework. Since you can't do a partial conversion this is a big-bang patch, i.e. large and hard to review. I never found a way around this. With CONFIG_RC_CORE=m and VIDEO_CX231XX=y, we get a link failure: drivers/media/usb/cx231xx/cx231xx-input.o: In function `cx231xx_ir_init': cx231xx-input.c:(.text+0xd4): undefined reference to `rc_allocate_device' This narrows down the dependency so that only valid configurations are allowed. Instead of having 3 options to allow customizing the media sub-drivers (tuners, I2C drivers, frontends), merge all of them into just one. That simplifies the life for users, as they can just keep this untouched. Life for developers is also simpler, as there's now just one Kconfig item to remember, for the ancillary sub-drivers providing supports for chips that could change from one board design to another.
