2012-03-28Disintegrate asm/system.h for SparcDavid Howells1-331/+0
Disintegrate asm/system.h for Sparc. Signed-off-by: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com> cc: sparclinux@vger.kernel.org
2011-06-07sparc: Remove unnecessary semicolonsJoe Perches1-1/+1
Semicolons are not necessary after switch/while/for/if braces so remove them. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-04-21sparc: consolidate show_cpuinfo in cpu.cSam Ravnborg1-4/+0
We have all the cpu related info in cpu.c - so move the remaining functions to support /proc/cpuinfo to this file. Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-08-19sparc64: Fill a missing delay slot.Mikulas Patocka1-0/+1
If the code were already aligned to 64 bytes, wr instruction would be executed twice --- once in delay slot and once in the jump target. Signed-off-by: Mikulas Patocka <mpatocka@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-03-03sparc64: Kill off old sys_perfctr system call and state.David S. Miller1-14/+1
People should be using the perf events interfaces, and the way these system call facilities used the %pcr conflicts with the usage of the NMI watchdog and perf events. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2009-11-05sparc64: Add a comment about why we only use certain memory barriers these days.David S. Miller1-0/+4
Based upon feedback from Mathieu Desnoyers. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2009-09-10sparc64: Provide extern decls for sparc_??u_type strings.David S. Miller1-0/+4
Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-12-04sparc64: Add write_pic() helper.David S. Miller1-4/+5
It writes the %pic register, keeping mind of processor bugs. Implement reset_pic() in terms of it. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-12-04sparc64: Block NMIs in critical section of context switch.David S. Miller1-0/+2
In these instructions we load the new thread register, switch the register window, and setup the new frame pointer. All of these must appear atomic, and things will explode if we take a PIL=15 NMI interrupt in the middle of this sequence. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-12-04sparc64: Stop using memory barriers for atomics and locks.David S. Miller1-27/+8
The kernel always executes in the TSO memory model now, so none of this stuff is necessary any more. With helpful feedback from Nick Piggin. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-09-11sysctl: Use header file for sysctl knob declarations on sparc.David S. Miller1-0/+1
This also takes care of a sparse warning as scons_pwroff's definition point. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-08-31sparc: remove CONFIG_SUN4Adrian Bunk1-3/+2
While doing some easy cleanups on the sparc code I noticed that the CONFIG_SUN4 code seems to be worse than the rest - there were some "I don't know how it should work, but the current code definitely cannot work." places. And while I have seen people running Linux on machines like a SPARCstation 5 a few years ago I don't recall having seen sun4 machines, even less ones running Linux. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-07-27sparc, sparc64: use arch/sparc/includeSam Ravnborg1-0/+355
The majority of this patch was created by the following script: *** ASM=arch/sparc/include/asm mkdir -p $ASM git mv include/asm-sparc64/ftrace.h $ASM git rm include/asm-sparc64/* git mv include/asm-sparc/* $ASM sed -ie 's/asm-sparc64/asm/g' $ASM/* sed -ie 's/asm-sparc/asm/g' $ASM/* *** The rest was an update of the top-level Makefile to use sparc for header files when sparc64 is being build. And a small fixlet to pick up the correct unistd.h from sparc64 code. Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org>
