2020-01-23usb: phy: phy-gpio-vbus-usb: Convert to GPIO descriptorsLinus Walleij1-1/+0
Instead of using the legacy GPIO API and keeping track on polarity inversion semantics in the driver, switch to use GPIO descriptors for this driver and change all consumers in the process. This makes it possible to retire platform data completely: the only remaining platform data member was "wakeup" which was intended to make the vbus interrupt wakeup capable, but was not set by any users and thus remained unused. VBUS was not waking any devices up. Leave a comment about it so later developers using the platform can consider setting it to always enabled so plugging in USB wakes up the platform. After converting the PXA driver to use GPIO descriptors for card detect and write protect it is relatively simple to convert it to also use a descriptor for getting the optional power control GPIO. The polarity inversion flag can also go away from the platform data since this is indicated in the GPIO machine descriptor table. We regularly have new NAND controller drivers that are making use of fields/hooks that we want to get rid of but can't because of all the legacy drivers that we might break if we do. 2018-10-03mtd: rawnand: plat_nand: Pass a nand_chip object to all platform_nand_ctrl hooksBoris Brezillon1-3/+2
Let's make the raw NAND API consistent by patching all helpers and hooks to take a nand_chip object instead of an mtd_info one or remove the mtd_info object when both are passed. In order to do that, we first need to update the platform_nand_ctrl hooks to take a nand_chip object instead of an mtd_info. We add temporary plat_nand_xxx() wrappers to the do the mtd -> chip conversion, but those will be dropped when patching nand_chip hooks to take a nand_chip object. Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This tries to clear up the confusion between integers and iomem pointers in the marvell pxa platform. MMIO addresses are supposed to be __iomem* values, in order to let the Linux type checking work correctly. This patch moves the cast to __iomem as far back as possible, to the place where the MMIO virtual address windows are defined. 2010-05-11[ARM] pxa: make it clear by converting MMC 'delay_detect' to millisecondEric Miao1-1/+1
delay_detect in HZ is confusing, convert it to be millisecond based. And thus remove those unnecessary call to msecs_to_jiffies() at runtime for this field. Other constants are converted assuming HZ == 100, which are basically true for those platforms. The assignment in csb726.c was incorrect, and is fixed in this patch as a result. 2009-12-01[ARM] pxa: allow platforms to control which uarts are registeredRussell King1-0/+4
For some platforms, it is inappropriate to register all PXA UARTs. In some cases, the UARTs may not be used, and in others we may want to avoid registering the UARTs to allow other drivers (eg, FICP) to make use of the UART. In addition, a while back there was a request to be able to pass platform data to the UART driver. This patch enables all of this by providing functions platforms can call to register each individual UART. Several boards use always the same pattern with pxamci : request gpio, request irq for that gpio to detect MMC card insertion, request gpio for read-only mode detection, etc ... Now that pxamci provides platform_data to describe simple gpio management of the MMC external controls, use it. Considering the header mess ATM, it is not always possible to include the correct header files within board code. Let's keep this simple: <mach/pxa25x.h> - for pxa25x based platforms <mach/pxa27x.h> - for pxa27x based platforms <mach/pxa300.h> - for pxa300 based platforms <mach/pxa320.h> - for pxa320 based platforms <mach/pxa930.h> - for pxa930 based platforms NOTE: 1. one header one board file, they are not compatible (i.e. they have conflicting definitions which won't compile if included together). 2.
