Pin's connection list may change dynamically with hot-plug event on Intel Haswell chip. Users would see connections be "0" in codec#. when play audio on this pin, software driver choose converter from cache connections. So add "In-driver connection" info to avoid confuse when raw connections are different with cache connection. 2013-02-07ALSA: hda - Remove limit of widget connectionsTakashi Iwai1-4/+16
Currently we set the max number of connections to be 32, but there seems codec that gives longer connection lists like AD1988, and we see errors in proc output and else. (Though, in the case of AD1988, it's a list of all codecs connected to a single vendor widget, so this must be something fishy, but it's still valid from the h/w design POV.) This patch tries to remove this restriction. For efficiency, we still use the fixed size array in the parser, but takes a dynamic array when the size is reported to be greater than that. Now the fixed array size is found only in patch_hdmi.c, but it should be fine, as the codec itself can't support so many pins. This is a merge of really big changes: the generic parser is heavily enhanced for handling all cases, based on the former Realtek codec driver code. 2012-01-10ALSA: hda - Return the error from get_wcaps_type() for invalid NIDsTakashi Iwai1-0/+2
When an invalid NID is given, get_wcaps() returns zero as the error, but get_wcaps_type() takes it as the normal value and returns a bogus AC_WID_AUD_OUT value. This confuses the parser. With this patch, get_wcaps_type() returns -1 when value 0 is given, i.e. an invalid NID is passed to get_wcaps(). HDA036 spec states: DP (Display Port) indicates whether the Pin Complex Widget supports connection to a Display Port sink. Supported if set to 1. The commit e3303235209c0496b490e10ab131e72a9568c153 "ALSA: hda - proc - show which I/O NID is associated to PCM device" introduces the access to substream pointer. But, PCMs may have no substreams in one or both directions, and this results in NULL dereference. Also, print the first substream number doesn't make sense.
