2020-01-05ALSA: emu10k1: More constificationsTakashi Iwai1-8/+8
Apply const prefix to the remaining possible places: the static tables for init verbs and registers, the string arrays, the conversion tables, etc. Just for minor optimization and no functional changes. 2020-01-03ALSA: info: Make snd_info_entry_ops as constTakashi Iwai1-1/+1
The reference to snd_info_entry_ops is rather read-only, so declare it as a const pointer. This allows a bit more optimization. There should be no functional changes by this patch. Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20200103081714.9560-29-tiwai@suse.de Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

2019-02-06ALSA: pci: Clean up with new procfs helpersTakashi Iwai1-50/+31
Simplify the proc fs creation code with new helper functions, snd_card_ro_proc_new() and snd_card_rw_proc_new(). Just a code refactoring and no functional changes. Reviewed-by: Jaroslav Kysela <perex@perex.cz> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

Convert the S_<FOO> symbolic permissions to their octal equivalents as using octal and not symbolic permissions is preferred by many as more readable. see: https://lkml.org/lkml/2016/8/2/1945 Done with automated conversion via: $ ./scripts/checkpatch.pl -f --types=SYMBOLIC_PERMS --fix-inplace <files...> Miscellanea: o Wrapped one multi-line call to a single line Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Acked-by: Vinod Koul <vkoul@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

2017-10-17ALSA: emu10k1: remove redundant assignment to tmpColin Ian King1-1/+0
The assignment to variable tmp is redundant as the value is never read and a new value is assigned to tmp in the following for-loop, so remove the assignment. Cleans up clang warning: Value stored to 'tmp' is never read Signed-off-by: Colin Ian King <colin.king@canonical.com> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2015-05-29ALSA: emu10k1: Fix/cleanup ifdef CONFIG_PROC_FSTakashi Iwai1-2/+0
Build emuproc.o conditionally and drop the unneeded ifdefs. Some are replaced with the new CONFIG_SND_PROC_FS. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2015-04-10ALSA: emu10k1: don't deadlock in proc-functionsMichael Gernoth1-12/+0
The functions snd_emu10k1_proc_spdif_read and snd_emu1010_fpga_read acquire the emu_lock before accessing the FPGA. The function used to access the FPGA (snd_emu1010_fpga_read) also tries to take the emu_lock which causes a deadlock. Remove the outer locking in the proc-functions (guarding only the already safe fpga read) to prevent this deadlock. [removed superfluous flags variables too -- tiwai] Signed-off-by: Michael Gernoth <michael@gernoth.net> Cc: <stable@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2012-12-07ALSA: pci: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton1-1/+1
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. Signed-off-by: Bill Pemberton <wfp5p@virginia.edu> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2010-04-13ALSA: info - Check file position validity in common layerTakashi Iwai1-23/+20
Check the validity of the file position in the common info layer before calling read or write callbacks in assumption that entry->size is set up properly to indicate the max file size. Removed the redundant checks from the callbacks as well. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2010-04-13ALSA: info - Use standard types for info callbacksTakashi Iwai1-4/+4
Use loff_t, size_t and ssize_t for arguments of info callbacks to follow the standard procfs. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2009-10-30ALSA: Cleanup redundant tests on unsignedRoel Kluin1-2/+2
The variables are unsigned so the test `>= 0' is always true, the `< 0' test always fails. In these cases the other part of the test catches wrapped values. In dac_audio_write() there does not occur a test for wrapped values, but the test appears redundant. Signed-off-by: Roel Kluin <roel.kluin@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

2008-01-31[ALSA] Remove sound/driver.hTakashi Iwai1-1/+0
This header file exists only for some hacks to adapt alsa-driver tree. It's useless for building in the kernel. Let's move a few lines in it to sound/core.h and remove it. With this patch, sound/driver.h isn't removed but has just a single compile warning to include it. This should be really killed in future. 2005-05-29[ALSA] Fix permissions in some /proc filesTakashi Iwai1-0/+5
PCM Midlevel,CA0106 driver,EMU10K1/EMU10K2 driver Fix by Guillaume Chazarain <guichaz@yahoo.fr>: Some tunables in /proc have a write() function, but as their permission does not reflect it, it can be confusing to the user. So here is a patch that corrects the mode of those files. Note that I have only tested the 'xrun_debug' entry. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2005-05-29[ALSA] Improve SPDIF playback via the P16V/CA0151 chip.James Courtier-Dutton1-0/+21
EMU10K1/EMU10K2 driver Although we can set 44100 as the output rate, the SPDIF can do it, but the Analog output cannot. The SPDIF has the bug, whereby the Left channel arrives one sample late, so although we don't do any resampling, it is not good for AC3 non-audio output. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
