Remove tinydrm_of_find_backlight from tinydrm-helpers.c. We now have
a generic of_find_backlight defined in backlight.c. Let the callers
of tinydrm_of_find_backlight call of_find_backlight. Also, remove
select BACKLIGHT_LCD_SUPPORT and select BACKLIGHT_CLASS_DEVICE from
tinydrm/Kconfig as it is a hack that is no longer needed.

Move the fields into drm_i915_gem_object instead and patch the i915 code

dw_hdmi shouldn't set drvdata since some drivers might need to store
it's own data there. Rework dw_hdmi in a way to return struct dw_hdmi
instead to store it in drvdata. This way drivers are responsible to
store and pass structure when needed.

Parts of PHY code could be useful also for custom PHYs. For example,
Allwinner A83T has custom PHY which is probably Synopsys gen2 PHY
with few additional memory mapped registers, so most of the Synopsys PHY
related code could be reused.
Functions exported here are actually not specific to Synopsys PHYs but
to DWC HDMI controller PHY interface. This means that even if the PHY is
completely custom, i.e. not designed by Synopsys, exported functions can
be useful.

The HW frame counter can get reset if device enters a low power state after
vblank interrupts were disabled. This messes up any following vblank count
update as a negative diff (huge unsigned diff) is calculated from the HW
frame counter change. We cannot ignore negative diffs altogther as there
could be legitimate wrap arounds. So, allow drivers to update vblank->count
with missed vblanks for the time interrupts were disabled. This is similar
to _crtc_vblank_on() except that vblanks interrupts are not enabled at the
end as this function is expected to be called from the driver
_enable_vblank() vfunc.
v2: drm_crtc_vblank_restore should take crtc as arg. (Chris)

570e86963a51 ("drm: Widen vblank count to 64-bits [v3]") changed the
return type for drm_crtc_vblank_count() to u64.
The flip ioctl receives a 32-bit target sequence from user space and is
compared against the current sequence from drm_crtc_vblank_count(). So,
typecast return from drm_crtc_vblank_count() explicitly to add clarity.
__drm_crtcs_state.last_vblank_count however only ever stores the value from
drm_crtc_vblank_count() and can be upgraded to u64.

drm_vblank_count() has an u32 type returning what is a 64-bit vblank count.
The effect of this is when drm_wait_vblank_ioctl() tries to widen the user
space requested vblank sequence using this clipped 32-bit count(when the
value is >= 2^32) as reference, the requested sequence remains a 32-bit
value and gets queued like that. However, the code that checks if the
requested sequence has passed compares this against the 64-bit vblank
count.
With drm_vblank_count() returning all bits of the vblank count, update
drm_crtc_accurate_vblank_count() so that drm_crtc_arm_vblank_event() queues
the correct sequence. Otherwise, this leads to prolonged waits for a vblank
sequence when the current count is >=2^32.
Finally, fix drm_wait_one_vblank() too.

Add one missing PCI ID and sort them in a way
that gets easier to review and compare against spec's
table.
When trying to sync libdrm and mesa id list with kernel
and spec I noticed something was wrong and we were missing
a pci id. So to make our lives easier when checking against
spec let's simplify and sort like spec does.

except, again, POLLFREE and POLL_BUSY_LOOP.
With this, we finally get to the promised end result:
- POLL{IN,OUT,...} are plain integers and *not* in __poll_t, so any
stray instances of ->poll() still using those will be caught by
sparse.
- eventpoll.c and select.c warning-free wrt __poll_t
- no more kernel-side definitions of POLL... - userland ones are
visible through the entire kernel (and used pretty much only for
mangle/demangle)
- same behavior as after the first series (i.e. sparc et.al. epoll(2)
working correctly).

This is the mindless scripted replacement of kernel use of POLL*
variables as described by Al, done by this script:
for V in IN OUT PRI ERR RDNORM RDBAND WRNORM WRBAND HUP RDHUP NVAL MSG; do
L=`git grep -l -w POLL$V | grep -v '^t' | grep -v /um/ | grep -v '^sa' | grep -v '/poll.h$'|grep -v '^D'`
for f in $L; do sed -i "-es/^\([^\"]*\)\(\<POLL$V\>\)/\\1E\\2/" $f; done
done
with de-mangling cleanups yet to come.
NOTE! On almost all architectures, the EPOLL* constants have the same
values as the POLL* constants do. But they keyword here is "almost".
For various bad reasons they aren't the same, and epoll() doesn't
actually work quite correctly in some cases due to this on Sparc et al.
The next patch from Al will sort out the final differences, and we
should be all done.

as a for bulk search-and-replace.
After that, the kernel is ready to apply the patch to unify
{de,}mangle_poll(), and then get rid of kernel-side POLL... uses
entirely, and we should be all done with that stuff.
Basically, that's what you suggested wrt KPOLL..., except that we can
use EPOLL... instead - they already are arch-independent (and equal to
what is currently kernel-side POLL...).
After the preparations (in this series) switch to returning EPOLL...
from ->poll() instances is completely mechanical and kernel-side
POLL... can go away. The last step (killing kernel-side POLL... and
unifying {de,}mangle_poll() has to be done after the
search-and-replace job, since we need userland-side POLL... for
unified {de,}mangle_poll(), thus the cherry-pick at the last step.
After that we will have:

Expose new ioctls to create/destroy a performance monitor object and
query the counter values of this perfmance monitor.
Note that a perfomance monitor is given an ID that is only valid on the
file descriptor it has been allocated from. A performance monitor can be

Daniel Borkmann says:
====================
pull-request: bpf 2018-02-09
The following pull-request contains BPF updates for your *net* tree.
The main changes are:
1) Two fixes for BPF sockmap in order to break up circular map references
from programs attached to sockmap, and detaching related sockets in
case of socket close() event. For the latter we get rid of the
smap_state_change() and plug into ULP infrastructure, which will later
also be used for additional features anyway such as TX hooks. For the
second issue, dependency chain is broken up via map release callback
to free parse/verdict programs, all from John.
2) Fix a libbpf relocation issue that was found while implementing XDP
support for Suricata project. Issue was that when clang was invoked
with default target instead of bpf target, then various other e.g.
debugging relevant sections are added to the ELF file that contained
relocation entries pointing to non-BPF related sections which libbpf
trips over instead of skipping them. Test cases for libbpf are added
as well, from Jesper.
3) Various misc fixes for bpftool and one for libbpf: a small addition
to libbpf to make sure it recognizes all standard section prefixes.
Then, the Makefile in bpftool/Documentation is improved to explicitly
check for rst2man being installed on the system as we otherwise risk
installing empty man pages; the man page for bpftool-map is corrected
and a set of missing bash completions added in order to avoid shipping
bpftool where the completions are only partially working, from Quentin.
4) Fix applying the relocation to immediate load instructions in the
nfp JIT which were missing a shift, from Jakub.
5) Two fixes for the BPF kernel selftests: handle CONFIG_BPF_JIT_ALWAYS_ON=y
gracefully in test_bpf.ko module and mark them as FLAG_EXPECTED_FAIL
in this case; and explicitly delete the veth devices in the two tests
test_xdp_{meta,redirect}.sh before dismantling the netnses as when
selftests are run in batch mode, then workqueue to handle destruction
might not have finished yet and thus veth creation in next test under
same dev name would fail, from Yonghong.
6) Fix test_kmod.sh to check the test_bpf.ko module path before performing
an insmod, and fallback to modprobe. Especially the latter is useful
when having a device under test that has the modules installed instead,
from Naresh.

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/joro/iommu
Pull IOMMU updates from Joerg Roedel:
"This time there are not a lot of changes coming from the IOMMU side.
That is partly because I returned from my parental leave late in the
development process and probably partly because everyone was busy with
Spectre and Meltdown mitigation work and didn't find the time for
IOMMU work. So here are the few changes that queued up for this merge
window:
- 5-level page-table support for the Intel IOMMU.
- error reporting improvements for the AMD IOMMU driver
- additional DT bindings for ipmmu-vmsa (Renesas)
- small fixes and cleanups"

Pull more arm64 updates from Catalin Marinas:
"As I mentioned in the last pull request, there's a second batch of
security updates for arm64 with mitigations for Spectre/v1 and an
improved one for Spectre/v2 (via a newly defined firmware interface
API).
Spectre v1 mitigation:
- back-end version of array_index_mask_nospec()
- masking of the syscall number to restrict speculation through the
syscall table
- masking of __user pointers prior to deference in uaccess routines
Spectre v2 mitigation update:
- using the new firmware SMC calling convention specification update
- removing the current PSCI GET_VERSION firmware call mitigation as
vendors are deploying new SMCCC-capable firmware
- additional branch predictor hardening for synchronous exceptions
and interrupts while in user mode
Meltdown v3 mitigation update:
- Cavium Thunder X is unaffected but a hardware erratum gets in the
way. The kernel now starts with the page tables mapped as global
and switches to non-global if kpti needs to be enabled.
Other:
- Theoretical trylock bug fixed"

Pointer subtraction is slow and tedious. Therefore, replace all instances

with an iteration macro providing an index to the frequency_table entry.

Pull more x86 platform-drivers updates from Andy Shevchenko:

Move the macro to seq_file.h.
Along with above, clean up three drivers to use that macro.
This, due to dependencies, was sent separately since affected changes
weren't upstream originally yet. The rationale of doing this now is to
allow use of new macro in v4.17 cycle in a conflictless manner"
