2017-08-28irda: move include/net/irda into staging subdirectoryGreg Kroah-Hartman34-3847/+0
And finally, move the irda include files into drivers/staging/irda/include/net/irda. Yes, it's a long path, but it makes it easy for us to just add a Makefile directory path addition and all of the net and drivers code "just works". 2017-03-09scripts/spelling.txt: add "overide" pattern and fix typo instancesMasahiro Yamada1-1/+1
Fix typos and add the following to the scripts/spelling.txt: overide||override While we are here, fix the doubled "address" in the touched line Documentation/devicetree/bindings/regulator/ti-abb-regulator.txt. Also, fix the comment block style in the touched hunks in drivers/media/dvb-frontends/drx39xyj/drx_driver.h. 2014-12-10irda: Convert function pointer arrays and uses to constJoe Perches1-3/+3
Making things const is a good thing. 2014-11-12irda: Convert IRDA_DEBUG to pr_debugJoe Perches2-12/+1
Use the normal kernel debugging mechanism which also enables dynamic_debug at the same time. Other miscellanea: o Remove sysctl for irda_debug o Remove function tracing like uses (use ftrace instead) o Coalesce formats o Realign arguments o Remove unnecessary OOM messages Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-11-11irda: Remove IRDA_<TYPE> logging macrosJoe Perches1-4/+0
And use the more common mechanisms directly. Other miscellanea: o Coalesce formats o Add missing newlines o Realign arguments o Remove unnecessary OOM message logging as there's a generic stack dump already on OOM. 2014-11-11irda: Simplify IRDA logging macrosJoe Perches1-3/+3
These are the same as net_<level>_ratelimited, so use the more common style in the macro definition. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-12-06include/net/: Fix FSF address in file headersJeff Kirsher13-39/+13
Several files refer to an old address for the Free Software Foundation in the file header comment. Resolve by replacing the address with the URL <http://www.gnu.org/licenses/> so that we do not have to keep updating the header comments anytime the address changes. 2013-10-17irda: update comment mentioning IRQF_DISABLEDMichael Opdenacker1-1/+1

2013-09-23irda: Remove extern from function prototypesJoe Perches4-21/+20
There are a mix of function prototypes with and without extern in the kernel sources. Standardize on not using extern for function prototypes. Function prototypes don't need to be written with extern. extern is assumed by the compiler. Its use is as unnecessary as using auto to declare automatic/local variables in a block. 2013-08-02include: Convert ethernet mac address declarations to use ETH_ALENJoe Perches1-1/+2
It's convenient to have ethernet mac addresses use ETH_ALEN to be able to grep for them a bit easier and also to ensure that the addresses are __aligned(2). Add #include <linux/if_ether.h> as necessary. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Acked-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <m.chehab@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-04-19irda: small read past the end of array in debug codeDan Carpenter1-1/+2
The "reason" can come from skb->data[] and it hasn't been capped so it can be from 0-255 instead of just 0-6. For example in irlmp_state_dtr() the code does: reason = skb->data[3]; ... irlmp_disconnect_indication(self, reason, skb); Also LMREASON has a couple other values which don't have entries in the irlmp_reasons[] array. And 0xff is a valid reason as well which means "unknown". So far as I can see we don't actually care about "reason" except for in the debug code. 2012-06-12TTY: ircomm, use tty from tty_portJiri Slaby1-1/+0
This also includes a switch to tty refcounting. It makes sure, the code no longer can access a freed TTY struct. Sometimes the only thing needed is to pass tty down to the callies. Signed-off-by: Jiri Slaby <jslaby@suse.cz> Cc: Samuel Ortiz <samuel@sortiz.org> Cc: netdev@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2012-06-12TTY: ircomm, revamp lockingJiri Slaby1-1/+0
Use self->spinlock only for ctrl_skb and tx_skb. TTY stuff is now protected by tty_port->lock. This is needed for further cleanup (and conversion to tty_port helpers). This also closes the race in the end of close. 2011-02-17tty: now phase out the ioctl file pointer for goodAlan Cox1-1/+1
Only oddities here are a couple of drivers that bogusly called the ldisc helpers instead of returning -ENOIOCTLCMD. Fix the bug and the rest goes away. Signed-off-by: Alan Cox <alan@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2011-02-17tiocmset: kill the file pointer argumentAlan Cox1-1/+1

2011-02-17tiocmget: kill off the passing of the struct fileAlan Cox1-1/+1
We don't actually need this and it causes problems for internal use of this functionality. Currently there is a single use of the FILE * pointer. That is the serial core which uses it to check tty_hung_up_p. However if that is true then IO_ERROR is also already set so the check may be removed. 2008-12-17irda: Add irda_skb_cb qdisc related paddingSamuel Ortiz1-1/+3
We need to pad irda_skb_cb in order to keep it safe accross dev_queue_xmit() calls. This is some ugly and temporary hack triggered by recent qisc code changes. Even though it fixes bugzilla.kernel.org bug #11795, it will be replaced by a proper fix before 2.6.29 is released. Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <samuel@sortiz.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2008-07-08pkt_sched: Add qdisc_all_tx_empty()David S. Miller1-1/+1
This is a helper function, currently used by IRDA. This is being added so that we can contain and isolate as many explicit ->tx_queue references in the tree as possible. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

Even kernel 2.2.26 (sic) already contains the #undef CONFIG_IRLAN_SEND_GRATUITOUS_ARP with the comment "but for some reason the machine crashes if you use DHCP". 2006-12-08[PATCH] tty: switch to ktermios and new frameworkAlan Cox1-1/+1
This is the core of the switch to the new framework. I've split it from the driver patches which are mostly search/replace and would encourage people to give this one a good hard stare. The references to BOTHER and ISHIFT are the termios values that must be defined by a platform once it wants to turn on "new style" ioctl support. The code patches here ensure that providing 1. The termios overlays the ktermios in memory 2. The only new kernel only fields are c_ispeed/c_ospeed (or none) the existing behaviour is retained. This is true for the patches at this point in time. Future patches will define BOTHER, ISHIFT and enable newer termios structures for each architecture, and once they are all done some of the ifdefs also vanish.
