2006-06-09[XFS] Start writeout earlier (on last close) in the case where we have aNathan Scott1-14/+25
truncate down followed by delayed allocation (buffered writes) - worst case scenario for the notorious NULL files problem. This reduces the window where we are exposed to that problem significantly. 2006-06-09[XFS] Shutdown the filesystem if all device paths have gone. MadeNathan Scott1-0/+2
shutdown vop flags consistent with sync vop flags declarations too. SGI-PV: 939911 SGI-Modid: xfs-linux-melb:xfs-kern:26096a Signed-off-by: Nathan Scott <nathans@sgi.com>
2006-04-11[PATCH] splice: pass offset around for ->splice_read() and ->splice_write()Jens Axboe1-6/+6
We need not use ->f_pos as the offset for the file input/output. If the user passed an offset pointer in through sys_splice(), just use that and leave ->f_pos alone. Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <axboe@suse.de>
2006-04-10[PATCH] introduce a "kernel-internal pipe object" abstractionIngo Molnar1-2/+2
separate out the 'internal pipe object' abstraction, and make it usable to splice. This cleans up and fixes several aspects of the internal splice APIs and the pipe code: - pipes: the allocation and freeing of pipe_inode_info is now more symmetric and more streamlined with existing kernel practices. - splice: small micro-optimization: less pointer dereferencing in splice methods Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu> Update XFS for the ->splice_read/->splice_write changes. 2006-03-14[XFS] Dynamically allocate vattr in places it makes sense to do so, toNathan Scott1-0/+1
reduce stack use. Also re-use vattr in some places so that multiple copies are not held on-stack. SGI-PV: 947312 SGI-Modid: xfs-linux-melb:xfs-kern:25369a Signed-off-by: Nathan Scott <nathans@sgi.com>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
