2015-12-13xattr handlers: Simplify list operationAndreas Gruenbacher1-15/+2
Change the list operation to only return whether or not an attribute should be listed. Copying the attribute names into the buffer is moved to the callers. Since the result only depends on the dentry and not on the attribute name, we do not pass the attribute name to list operations. 2015-12-06vfs: Distinguish between full xattr names and proper prefixesAndreas Gruenbacher1-4/+0
Add an additional "name" field to struct xattr_handler. When the name is set, the handler matches attributes with exactly that name. When the prefix is set instead, the handler matches attributes with the given prefix and with a non-empty suffix. This patch should avoid bugs like the one fixed in commit c361016a in the future. 2015-11-13xattr handlers: Pass handler to operations instead of flagsAndreas Gruenbacher1-6/+10
The xattr_handler operations are currently all passed a file system specific flags value which the operations can use to disambiguate between different handlers; some file systems use that to distinguish the xattr namespace, for example. In some oprations, it would be useful to also have access to the handler prefix. To allow that, pass a pointer to the handler to operations instead of the flags value alone. 2015-11-13jffs2: Add missing capability check for listing trusted xattrsAndreas Gruenbacher1-0/+3
The vfs checks if a task has the appropriate access for get and set operations, but it cannot do that for the list operation; the file system must check for that itself. 2009-12-16sanitize xattr handler prototypesChristoph Hellwig1-8/+10
Add a flags argument to struct xattr_handler and pass it to all xattr handler methods. This allows using the same methods for multiple handlers, e.g. for the ACL methods which perform exactly the same action for the access and default ACLs, just using a different underlying attribute. With a little more groundwork it'll also allow sharing the methods for the regular user/trusted/secure handlers in extN, ocfs2 and jffs2 like it's already done for xfs in this patch. Also change the inode argument to the handlers to a dentry to allow using the handlers mechnism for filesystems that require it later, e.g. cifs. 2007-04-25[JFFS2] Tidy up licensing/copyright boilerplate.David Woodhouse1-1/+2
In particular, remove the bit in the LICENCE file about contacting Red Hat for alternative arrangements. Their errant IS department broke that arrangement a long time ago -- the policy of collecting copyright assignments from contributors came to an end when the plug was pulled on the servers hosting the project, without notice or reason. We do still dual-license it for use with eCos, with the GPL+exception licence approved by the FSF as being GPL-compatible. It's just that nobody has the right to license it differently. 2006-05-13[JFFS2][XATTR] XATTR support on JFFS2 (version. 5)KaiGai Kohei1-0/+51
This attached patches provide xattr support including POSIX-ACL and SELinux support on JFFS2 (version.5). There are some significant differences from previous version posted at last December. The biggest change is addition of EBS(Erase Block Summary) support. Currently, both kernel and usermode utility (sumtool) can recognize xattr nodes which have JFFS2_NODETYPE_XATTR/_XREF nodetype. In addition, some bugs are fixed. - A potential race condition was fixed. - Unexpected fail when updating a xattr by same name/value pair was fixed. - A bug when removing xattr name/value pair was fixed. The fundamental structures (such as using two new nodetypes and exclusion mechanism by rwsem) are unchanged. But most of implementation were reviewed and updated if necessary. Espacially, we had to change several internal implementations related to load_xattr_datum() to avoid a potential race condition.
