2020-02-19backlight: add led-backlight driverTomi Valkeinen1-0/+7
This patch adds a led-backlight driver (led_bl), which is similar to pwm_bl except the driver uses a LED class driver to adjust the brightness in the HW. Multiple LEDs can be used for a single backlight. When running "make oldconfig" on a .config where CONFIG_BACKLIGHT_LCD_SUPPORT is not set, two new config options ("Lowlevel LCD controls" and "Lowlevel Backlight controls") appear, both defaulting to "m". Drop the "default m", as options should default to disabled, and because several driver config options already select LCD_CLASS_DEVICE or BACKLIGHT_CLASS_DEVICE when needed. 2012-10-06backlight: remove ProGear driverMarcin Juszkiewicz1-7/+0

2012-10-06backlight: add new lm3639 backlight driverG.Shark Jeong1-0/+9
This driver is a general version for LM3639 backlgiht + flash driver chip of TI. LM3639: The LM3639 is a single chip LCD Display Backlight driver + white LED Camera driver. 2012-10-06backlight: add Backlight driver for lm3630 chipG.Shark Jeong1-0/+7
This driver is a general version for LM3630 backlgiht driver chip of TI. LM3630 : The LM3630 is a current mode boost converter which supplies the power and controls the current in two strings of up to 10 LEDs per string. Programming is done over an I2C compatible interface. www.ti.com [akpm@linux-foundation.org: make bled_name[] static, a few coding style tuneups, create new set_intensity(), partly to avoid awkward layout gymnastics] Signed-off-by: G.Shark Jeong <gshark.jeong@gmail.com> Cc: Richard Purdie <rpurdie@rpsys.net> Cc: Daniel Jeong <daniel.jeong@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
2012-09-25backlight: Add TPS65217 WLED driverMatthias Kaehlcke1-0/+7
The TPS65217 chip contains a boost converter and current sinks which can be used to drive LEDs for use as backlights. Expose this functionality via the backlight API. Tested on an AM335x based custom board with a single WLED string, using different values for ISEL and FDIM (though it would be hard to tell the difference except for the value in WLEDCTRL1). Both instantiation through the device tree and by passing platform data have been tested. Testing has been done with an Androidized 3.2 kernel from the rowboat project. Koen Kooi reported the driver to be working on a Beaglebone board with LCD3 cape Signed-off-by: Matthias Kaehlcke <matthias@kaehlcke.net> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
2012-07-30Merge branch 'for-3.6' of git://gitorious.org/linux-pwm/linux-pwmLinus Torvalds1-1/+1
Pull PWM subsystem from Thierry Reding: "The new PWM subsystem aims at collecting all implementations of the legacy PWM API and to eventually replace it completely. The subsystem has been in development for over half a year now and many drivers have already been converted. It has been in linux-next for a couple of weeks and there have been no major issues so I think it is ready for inclusion in your tree." Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>: "Very much Ack on the new subsystem. It uses the interface declarations as the previously separate pwm drivers, so nothing changes for now in the drivers using it, although it enables us to change those more easily in the future if we want to. This work is also one of the missing pieces that are required to eventually build ARM kernels for multiple platforms, which is currently prohibited (amongs other things) by the fact that you cannot have more than one driver exporting the pwm functions." 2012-07-23pwm-backlight: Add rudimentary device tree supportThierry Reding1-1/+1
