2019-07-25staging: rtl8712: r8712_set_802_11_add_wep(): Change return valuesNishka Dasgupta1-6/+4
Change call sites of r8712_set_802_11_add_wep to check for 0 and non-zero values (e.g -EINVAL, -ENOMEM) instead of for _SUCCESS and _FAIL. Change return values of r8712_set_802_11_add_wep from true and false and _SUCCESS to -EINVAL and the return value of r8712_set_key. Change return type from u8 to int to accommodate these new return values. 2019-07-25staging: rtl8712: r8712_set_key(): Change return valuesNishka Dasgupta1-1/+1
Change return values of r8712_set_key from _SUCCESS and _FAIL to 0 and -ENOMEM or -EINVAL, as the case may require. Modify return statements and return variable accordingly. Change return type from sint to int. As there is only one site where the return value is used, update that call site according to the change in the return values. Change return values of r8712_set_auth from _SUCCESS/_FAIL to 0/-ENOMEM respectively. Modify call site accordingly. Also change return type of the function from sint to int. 2019-06-20staging: rtl8712: r8712_joinbss_cmd(): Change return values and typeNishka Dasgupta1-1/+1
Change return values of function r8712_joinbss_cmd from _SUCCESS/_FAIL to 0/-ENOMEM respectively. Change return type from u8 to int to accommodate return of -ENOMEM. Similarly, change the return values (_SUCCESS to 0 and _FAIL to -ENOMEM or -EINVAL) and type (sint to int) of the call site of r8712_joinbss_cmd, r8712_select_and_join_from_scan, as one of the branches of r8712_select_and_join_from_scan directly returns the return value of r8712_joinbss_cmd. Modify the call sites of r8712_select_and_join_from_scan to check for 0 instead of _SUCCESS. Issue found with Coccinelle. 2018-10-03staging: rtl8712: add SPDX identifiersMichael Straube1-13/+1
This satisfies a checkpatch warning and is the preferred method for notating the license. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. 2015-03-01Staging: rtl8712: Eliminate use of _set_timerVaishali Thakkar1-1/+2
This patch introduces the use of API function mod_timer instead of driver specific function _set_timer as it is a more efficient and standard way to update the expire field of an active timer. Also, definition of function _set_timer is removed as it is no longer needed after this change. Here, these cases are handled using Coccinelle and semantic patch used for this is as follows: @@ expression x; expression y;@@ - _set_timer (&x, y); + mod_timer (&x, jiffies + msecs_to_jiffies (y)); Signed-off-by: Vaishali Thakkar <vthakkar1994@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2014-10-29staging: rtl8712: remove unused variablesSudip Mukherjee1-4/+0
unused variables are removed. These variables were only assigned some values and after that they were never being used. So they are safe to be removed , and it has been build tested. I left a call to r8712_read32(padapter, TCR) and r8712_read8(padapter, SDIO_HCPWM) . r8712_read32() and r8712_read8() is ultimately calling usb_read32() and usb_read8() respectively. and they are again calling r8712_usbctrl_vendorreq(). this r8712_usbctrl_vendorreq() is communicating through the usb bus and is sending and receiving the control msg. 2014-06-26staging: rtl8712: remove wrapper function _queue_emptyJames A Shackleford1-1/+1

2014-06-26staging: rtl8712: remove function get_list_headJames A Shackleford1-1/+1

2014-06-26staging: rtl8712: remove wrapper function get_nextJames A Shackleford1-1/+1

2011-09-06staging: r8712u: Most return-values changed from -1 to proper errno macros.Ali Bahar1-2/+1
The ioctl handlers were frequently returning -1 upon failure. Most of these have now been changed to proper errno macros. The few remaining ones have been left untouched because either the handler is not called (and so cannot be tested), or the function never fails (and so cannot be system-tested), or requires new code to distinguish its failures. 2011-05-03staging: r8712u: Fix driver to support ad-hoc modeJeff Chua1-1/+4
Driver r8712u is unable to handle ad-hoc mode. The issue is that when the driver first starts, there will not be an SSID for association. The fix is to always call the "select and join from scan" routine when in ad-hoc mode. Note: Ad-hoc mode worked intermittently before. If the driver had previously been associated, then things were OK. 2010-08-20staging: r8712u: Add the new driver to the mainline kernelLarry Finger1-0/+379
This code is for a completely new version of the Realtek 8192 USB devices such as the D-Link DWA-130. The Realtek code, which was originally for Linux, Windows XP and Windows CE, has been stripped of all code not needed for Linux. In addition, only one additional configuration variable, which enables AP mode, remains.
