2021-08-24scsi: lpfc: Add EDC ELS supportJames Smart1-0/+2
When congestion management is enabled, issue EDC ELS to register congestion signaling capabilities with the fabric. The response handling will process the fabric parameters and set the reporting parameters. Similarly, add support for receiving an EDC request from the fabric generating a corresponding response. Implement handlers for congestion signals from the fabric and maintain statistics for them. 2020-10-26scsi: lpfc: Reject CT request for MIB commandsJames Smart1-0/+3
Now that MIB support was registered with FDMI, the driver may receive CT requests for MIB-related commands. At this time, no command is supported. However, the driver needs to be graceful and reject the CT request. This patch adds identification of the requests as well as sending the reject response. 2020-10-26scsi: lpfc: Add FDMI Vendor MIB supportJames Smart1-1/+3
Created new attribute lpfc_enable_mi, which by default is enabled. Add command definition bits for SLI-4 parameters that recognize whether the adapter has MIB information support and what revision of MIB data. Using the adapter information, register vendor-specific MIB support with FDMI. The registration will be done every link up. During FDMI registration, encountered a couple of errors when reverting to FDMI rev1. Code needed to exist once reverting. Fixed these. Remove any code in the driver to deal with dss, including code to deal with fips, which is associated with the dss feature. 2020-02-18scsi: lpfc: add RDF registration and Link Integrity FPIN loggingJames Smart1-1/+3
This patch modifies lpfc to register for Link Integrity events via the use of an RDF ELS and to perform Link Integrity FPIN logging. Specifically, the driver was modified to: - Format and issue the RDF ELS immediately following SCR registration. This registers the ability of the driver to receive FPIN ELS. - Adds decoding of the FPIN els into the received descriptors, with logging of the Link Integrity event information. After decoding, the ELS is delivered to the scsi fc transport to be delivered to any user-space applications. - To aid in logging, simple helpers were added to create enum to name string lookup functions that utilize the initialization helpers from the fc_els.h header. - Note: base header definitions for the ELS's don't populate the descriptor payloads. As such, lpfc creates it's own version of the structures, using the base definitions (mostly headers) and additionally declaring the descriptors that will complete the population of the ELS. 2020-02-10scsi: lpfc: Remove handler for obsolete ELS - Read Port Status (RPS)James Smart1-20/+0
There was report of an odd "Fix me..." log message, which was tracked down to the lpfc_els_rcv_rps() routine. This was in handling of a very old and obsolete ELS - Read Port Status. The RPS ELS was defined in FC-LS-1, but deprecated in FC-LS-2, and removed from all later FC-LS revisions. It was replaced by the Read Diagnostic Parameters (RDP) ELS and the Link Error Status Block descriptor. There should be no support for the RSP ELS. Remove support from driver. 2020-02-10scsi: lpfc: Fix coverity errors in fmdi attribute handlingJames Smart1-20/+16
Coverity reported a memory corruption error for the fdmi attributes routines: CID 15768 [Memory Corruption] Out-of-bounds access on FDMI Sloppy coding of the fmdi structures. In both the lpfc_fdmi_attr_def and lpfc_fdmi_reg_port_list structures, a field was placed at the start of payload that may have variable content. The field was given an arbitrary type (uint32_t). The code then uses the field name to derive an address, which it used in things such as memset and memcpy. The memset sizes or memcpy lengths were larger than the arbitrary type, thus coverity reported an error. Fix by replacing the arbitrary fields with the real field structures describing the payload. 2019-08-19scsi: lpfc: Fix ELS field alignmentsJames Smart1-3/+3
After seeing some interoperability issues with ADISC, it was determined the ELS definitions in lpfc were using types that allowed the compiler to add pad to the structure, causing the structure to no longer be per spec. The offending structures are ADISC, FAN, and RNID. This patch implements the simple fix of eliminating the pad by forcing the compiler to pack the structure. Care was taken to ensure field accesses won't be by operations that would hit a bad field alignment. The better solution would be to convert to the uapi fc header definitions, but the number of changes required to do is rather intrusive so this course of action was deferred. 2018-12-07scsi: lpfc: ls_rjt erroneus FLOGIsJames Smart1-0/+1
In some link initialization sequences, the fw generates an erroneous FLOGI payload to the driver without an intervening link bounce. The driver, when it sees a 2nd FLOGI without an intervening link bounce, automatically performs a link bounce. In this, the link bounce causes the situate to repeat and in a nasty loop of link bounces. Resolve the issue by validating the FLOGI payload. The erroneous FLOGI will contain VVL signatures that are not normal. When the driver sees these, it will simply reject the flogi rather than bouncing the link. The reject is consumed within the firmware. Signed-off-by: Dick Kennedy <dick.kennedy@broadcom.com> Signed-off-by: James Smart <jsmart2021@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Martin K. 2017-02-22scsi: lpfc: NVME Initiator: Base modificationsJames Smart1-2/+1
NVME Initiator: Base modifications This patch adds base modifications for NVME initiator support. The base modifications consist of: - Formal split of SLI3 rings from SLI-4 WQs (sometimes referred to as rings as well) as implementation now widely varies between the two. - Addition of configuration modes: SCSI initiator only; NVME initiator only; NVME target only; and SCSI and NVME initiator. The configuration mode drives overall adapter configuration, offloads enabled, and resource splits. NVME support is only available on SLI-4 devices and newer fw. - Implements the following based on configuration mode: - Exchange resources are split by protocol; Obviously, if only 1 mode, then no split occurs. Default is 50/50. module attribute allows tuning. - Pools and config parameters are separated per-protocol - Each protocol has it's own set of queues, but share interrupt vectors. SCSI: SLI3 devices have few queues and the original style of queue allocation remains. SLI4 devices piggy back on an "io-channel" concept that eventually needs to merge with scsi-mq/blk-mq support (it is underway). For now, the paradigm continues as it existed prior. io channel allocates N msix and N WQs (N=4 default) and either round robins or uses cpu # modulo N for scheduling. A bunch of module parameters allow the configuration to be tuned. NVME (initiator): Allocates an msix per cpu (or whatever pci_alloc_irq_vectors gets) Allocates a WQ per cpu, and maps the WQs to msix on a WQ # modulo msix vector count basis. Module parameters exist to cap/control the config if desired. - Each protocol has its own buffer and dma pools. I apologize for the size of the patch.
