2015-10-14rtlwifi: rtl818x: Move drivers into new realtek directoryLarry Finger1-768/+0
Now that a new mac80211-based driver for Realtek devices has been submitted, it is time to reorganize the directories. Rather than having directories rtlwifi and rtl818x be in drivers/net/wireless/, they will now be in drivers/net/wireless/realtek/. This change simplifies the directory structure, but does not result in any configuration changes that are visable to the user. In the major update of the rtlwifi-family of drivers, one of the callback entries was missed, which leads to memory corruption. Unfortunately, this corruption never caused a kernel oops, but showed up in other parts of the system. This patch is one of three needed to fix the kernel regression reported at https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88951. 2014-09-30rtlwifi: rtl8723be: Update driver to match Realtek release of 06/28/14Larry Finger1-2/+2
This patch updates the driver to match the latest Realtek release, and it is an important step in getting the internal code source at Realtek to match the code in the kernel. The primary reason for this is to make it easier for Realtek to maintain the kernel source without requiring an intermediate like me. In this process of merging the two source repositories, there are a lot of changes in both, and this commit is rather large. 2014-02-04mac80211: add length check in ieee80211_is_robust_mgmt_frame()Johannes Berg1-1/+1
A few places weren't checking that the frame passed to the function actually has enough data even though the function clearly documents it must have a payload byte. Make this safer by changing the function to take an skb and checking the length inside. The old version is preserved for now as the rtl* drivers use it and don't have a correct skb. 2013-02-15mac80211: stop toggling IEEE80211_HT_CAP_SUP_WIDTH_20_40Johannes Berg1-2/+1
For VHT, many more bandwidth changes are possible. As a first step, stop toggling the IEEE80211_HT_CAP_SUP_WIDTH_20_40 flag in the HT capabilities and instead introduce a bandwidth field indicating the currently usable bandwidth to transmit to the station. Of course, make all drivers use it. To achieve this, make ieee80211_ht_cap_ie_to_sta_ht_cap() get the station as an argument, rather than the new capabilities, so it can set up the new bandwidth field. If the station is a VHT station and VHT bandwidth is in use, also set the bandwidth accordingly. Doing this allows us to get rid of the supports_40mhz flag as the HT capabilities now reflect the true capability instead of the current setting. While at it, also fix ieee80211_ht_cap_ie_to_sta_ht_cap() to not ignore HT cap overrides when MCS TX isn't supported (not that it really happens...) 2012-10-30rtlwifi: rtl8192c: rtl8192ce: Add support for B-CUT version of RTL8188CELarry Finger1-2/+2
Realtek devices with designation RTL8188CE-VL have the so-called B-cut of the wireless chip. This patch adds the special programming needed by these devices. In addition, a variable that was static has been moved into the private data area as it is now needed in two different routines. This change also fixes a minor bug that would be present if a system had more than one RTL81{88,92}CE devices. Other drivers in the rtlwifi family had already made this change, thus the variable already exists in the private data structure. Remove the control.sta pointer from ieee80211_tx_info to free up sufficient space in the TX skb control buffer for the upcoming Transmit Power Control (TPC). Instead, the pointer is now on the stack in a new control struct that is passed as a function parameter to the drivers' tx method. Adding casts of objects to the same type is unnecessary and confusing for a human reader. For example, this cast: int y; int *p = (int *)&y; I used the coccinelle script below to find and remove these unnecessary casts. I manually removed the conversions this script produces of casts with __force, __iomem and __user. @@ type T; T *p; @@ - (T *)p + p Neatened the mwifiex_deauthenticate_infra function which was doing odd things with array pointers and not using is_zero_ether_addr. The flag isn't very descriptive -- the intention is that the driver provides a TSF timestamp at the beginning of the MPDU -- make that clearer by renaming the flag to RX_FLAG_MACTIME_MPDU.
