2019-12-18rsi_91x_usb: fix interface sanity checkJohan Hovold1-1/+1
Make sure to use the current alternate setting when verifying the interface descriptors to avoid binding to an invalid interface. Failing to do so could cause the driver to misbehave or trigger a WARN() in usb_submit_urb() that kernels with panic_on_warn set would choke on. Fixes: dad0d04fa7ba ("rsi: Add RS9113 wireless driver") Cc: stable <stable@vger.kernel.org> # 3.15 Cc: Fariya Fatima <fariyaf@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Johan Hovold <johan@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2019-12-18rsi: add missing endpoint sanity checksJohan Hovold1-2/+10
The driver expects at least one bulk-in endpoint when in "wifi-alone" operating mode and two bulk-in endpoints otherwise, and would otherwise fail to to submit the corresponding bulk URB to the default pipe during probe with a somewhat cryptic message: rsi_91x: rsi_rx_urb_submit: Failed in urb submission rsi_91x: rsi_probe: Failed in probe...Exiting RSI-USB WLAN: probe of 2-2.4:1.0 failed with error -8 The current endpoint sanity check looks broken and would only bail out early if there was no bulk-in endpoint but at least one bulk-out endpoint. Tighten this check to always require at least one bulk-in and one bulk-out endpoint, and add the missing sanity check for a Bluetooth bulk-in endpoint when in a BT operating mode. Also make sure to log an informative error message when the expected endpoints are missing. Signed-off-by: Johan Hovold <johan@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>

2019-10-09Revert "rsi: fix potential null dereference in rsi_probe()"Johan Hovold1-1/+1
This reverts commit f170d44bc4ec2feae5f6206980e7ae7fbf0432a0. USB core will never call a USB-driver probe function with a NULL device-id pointer. Reverting before removing the existing checks in order to document this and prevent the offending commit from being "autoselected" for stable. 2019-10-04rsi: fix potential null dereference in rsi_probe()Denis Efremov1-1/+1
The id pointer can be NULL in rsi_probe(). It is checked everywhere except for the else branch in the idProduct condition. The patch adds NULL check before the id dereference in the rsi_dbg() call. 2019-09-03rsi: fix a double free bug in rsi_91x_deinit()Hui Peng1-1/+0
`dev` (struct rsi_91x_usbdev *) field of adapter (struct rsi_91x_usbdev *) is allocated and initialized in `rsi_init_usb_interface`. If any error is detected in information read from the device side, `rsi_init_usb_interface` will be freed. However, in the higher level error handling code in `rsi_probe`, if error is detected, `rsi_91x_deinit` is called again, in which `dev` will be freed again, resulting double free. This patch fixes the double free by removing the free operation on `dev` in `rsi_init_usb_interface`, because `rsi_91x_deinit` is also used in `rsi_disconnect`, in that code path, the `dev` field is not (and thus needs to be) freed. This bug was found in v4.19, but is also present in the latest version of kernel. Fixes CVE-2019-15504. 2018-03-13rsi: improve RX packet handling in USB interfacePrameela Rani Garnepudi1-48/+62
Curretly, RX packet processing is done sequencially. To improve the efficiency, RX skb queue is introduced. Here, while preparing RX URB skb is allocated and used for RX buffer. When rx done handler is called, enqueue the skb to rx_q and set the thread event. RX thread is modified to dequeue packets from skb queue and process further. 2018-03-13rsi: add coex supportPrameela Rani Garnepudi1-0/+2
With BT support, driver has to handle two streams of data (i.e. wlan and BT). Actual coex implementation is in firmware. Coex module just schedule the packets to firmware by taking them from the corresponding paths. Structures for module and protocol operations are introduced for this purpose. Protocol operations structure is global structure which can be shared among different modules. Move initialization of coex and operating mode values to rsi_91x_init(). 2017-05-24rsi: Handle usb multi-byte write failure case properlyPrameela Rani Garnepudi1-4/+5
In function usb_write_register_multiple, if any intermediate block transfer is failed, further operations should be terminated. 'else' is removed, as there is no significance for it after return. 2014-07-01rsi: fix memory leaks and error handling in rsi_91x_usbAlexey Khoroshilov1-20/+38
The patch fixes a couple of issues: - absence of deallocation of rsi_dev->rx_usb_urb[0] in the driver; - potential NULL pointer dereference because of lack of checks for memory allocation success in rsi_init_usb_interface(). By the way, it makes rsi_probe() returning error code instead of 1 and fixes comments regarding returning values. Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org).
