2018-06-27wireless-drivers: use BIT_ULL for NL80211_STA_INFO_ attribute typesOmer Efrat1-2/+2
The BIT macro uses unsigned long which some architectures handle as 32 bit and therefore might cause macro's shift to overflow when used on a value equals or larger than 32 (NL80211_STA_INFO_RX_DURATION and afterwards). Since 'filled' member in station_info changed to u64, BIT_ULL macro should be used with all NL80211_STA_INFO_* attribute types instead of BIT to prevent future possible bugs when one will use BIT macro for higher attributes by mistake. This commit cleans up all usages of BIT macro with the above field in wireless-drivers by changing it to BIT_ULL instead. 2018-06-27rndis_wlan: potential buffer overflow in rndis_wlan_auth_indication()Dan Carpenter1-0/+2
This is a static checker fix, not something I have tested. The issue is that on the second iteration through the loop, we jump forward by le32_to_cpu(auth_req->length) bytes. The problem is that if the length is more than "buflen" then we end up with a negative "buflen". A negative buflen is type promoted to a high positive value and the loop continues but it's accessing beyond the end of the buffer. I believe the "auth_req->length" comes from the firmware and if the firmware is malicious or buggy, you're already toasted so the impact of this bug is probably not very severe. cfg80211_roamed() and cfg80211_roamed_bss() take the same arguments except that cfg80211_roamed() requires the BSSID and cfg80211_roamed_bss() requires the bss entry. Unify the two functions by using a struct for driver initiated roaming information so that either the BSSID or the bss entry can be passed as an argument to the unified function. 2017-04-13cfg80211: move add/change interface monitor flags into paramsJohannes Berg1-2/+2
Instead passing both flags, which can be NULL, and vif_params, which are never NULL, move the flags into the vif_params and use BIT(0), which is invalid from userspace, to indicate that the flags were changed. 2017-04-03net: usbnet: support 64bit statsGreg Ungerer1-0/+1
Add support for the net stats64 counters to the usbnet core. With that in place put the hooks into every usbnet driver to use it. This is a strait forward addition of 64bit counters for RX and TX packet and byte counts. It is done in the same style as for the other net drivers that support stats64. Note that the other stats fields remain as 32bit sized values (error counts, etc). The motivation to add this is that it is not particularly difficult to get the RX and TX byte counts to wrap on 32bit platforms. 2017-02-08cfg80211: Pass new RSSI level in CQM RSSI notificationAndrzej Zaborowski1-1/+1
Update the drivers to pass the RSSI level as a cfg80211_cqm_rssi_notify parameter and pass this value to userspace in a new nl80211 attribute. This helps both userspace and also helps in the implementation of the multiple RSSI thresholds CQM mechanism. Note for marvell/mwifiex I pass 0 for the RSSI value because the new RSSI value is not available to the driver at the time of the cfg80211_cqm_rssi_notify call, but the driver queries the new value immediately after that, so it is actually available just a moment later if we wanted to defer caling cfg80211_cqm_rssi_notify until that moment. Without this, the new cfg80211 code (patch 3) will call .get_station which will send a duplicate HostCmd_CMD_RSSI_INFO command to the hardware. 2016-07-06nl80211: support beacon report scanningAvraham Stern1-2/+8
Beacon report radio measurement requires reporting observed BSSs on the channels specified in the beacon request. If the measurement mode is set to passive or active, it requires actually performing a scan (passive or active, accordingly), and reporting the time that the scan was started and the time each beacon/probe was received (both in terms of TSF of the BSS of the requesting AP). If the request mode is table, this information is optional. In addition, the radio measurement request specifies the channel dwell time for the measurement. In order to use scan for beacon report when the mode is active or passive, add a parameter to scan request that specifies the channel dwell time, and add scan start time and beacon received time to scan results information. Supporting beacon report is required for Multi Band Operation (MBO). 2015-05-26cfg80211: properly send NL80211_ATTR_DISCONNECTED_BY_AP in disconnectJohannes Berg1-1/+1
When we disconnect from the AP, drivers call cfg80211_disconnect(). This doesn't know whether the disconnection was initiated locally or by the AP though, which can cause problems with the supplicant, for example with WPS. This issue obviously doesn't show up with any mac80211 based driver since mac80211 doesn't call this function. Fix this by requiring drivers to indicate whether the disconnect is locally generated or not. I've tried to update the drivers, but may not have gotten the values correct, and some drivers may currently not be able to report correct values. In case of doubt I left it at false, which is the current behaviour. For libertas, make adjustments as indicated by Dan Williams. 2014-02-04cfg80211: fix channel configuration in IBSS joinAntonio Quartulli1-1/+3
When receiving an IBSS_JOINED event select the BSS object based on the {bssid, channel} couple rather than the bssid only. With the current approach if another cell having the same BSSID (but using a different channel) exists then cfg80211 picks up the wrong BSS object. The result is a mismatching channel configuration between cfg80211 and the driver, that can lead to any sort of problem. The issue can be triggered by having an IBSS sitting on given channel and then asking the driver to create a new cell using the same BSSID but with a different frequency. By passing the channel to cfg80211_get_bss() we can solve this ambiguity and retrieve/create the correct BSS object. All the users of cfg80211_ibss_joined() have been changed accordingly. Moreover WARN when cfg80211_ibss_joined() gets a NULL channel as argument and remove a bogus call of the same function in ath6kl (it does not make sense to call cfg80211_ibss_joined() with a zero BSSID on ibss-leave). Instead of passing a channel pointer and channel type to all functions and driver methods, pass a new channel definition struct. Right now, this struct contains just the control channel and channel type, but for VHT this will change. Also, add a small inline cfg80211_get_chandef_type() so that drivers don't need to use the _type field of the new structure all the time, which will change. 2012-10-30cfg80211: allow per interface TX power settingJohannes Berg1-2/+8
The TX power setting is currently per wiphy (hardware device) but with multi-channel capabilities that doesn't make much sense any more. Allow drivers (and mac80211) to advertise support for per-interface TX power configuration. When the TX power is configured for the wiphy, the wdev will be NULL and the driver can still handle that, but when a wdev is given the TX power can be set only for that wdev now. 2012-06-11rndis_wlan: fix matching bssid check in rndis_check_bssid_list()Jussi Kivilinna1-1/+1
rndis_check_bssid_list() originally tried to check if bssid->mac and match_bssid are equal using compare_ether_addr() when it should use !compare_ether_addr(). This check was added by commit b5257c952dda24df7078c74b7b811b44c6e49206 as part of workaround for hardware issue. Commit 2e42e4747ea72943c21551d8a206b51a9893b1e0 that replaced compare_ether_addr with ether_addr_equal relieved that this compare to be inverse of what it should be. Compare was added as response to hardware bug, where bssid-list does not contain BSSID and other information of currently connected AP (spec insists that device must provide this information in the list when connected). Lack bssid-data on current connection then causes WARN_ON somewhere in cfg80211. Workaround was to check if bssid-list returns current bssid and if it does not, manually construct bssid information in other ways. And this workaround worked, with inverse check. Which must mean that when hardware is experiencing the problem, it's actually returning empty bssid-list and this check didn't make any difference for workaround. However inverse check causes workaround be activated when bssid-list returns only entry, currently connected BSSID. Hub-initiated LPM is not good for USB communications devices. Comms devices should be able to tell when their link can go into a lower power state, because they know when an incoming transmission is finished. Ideally, these devices would slam their links into a lower power state, using the device-initiated LPM, after finishing the last packet of their data transfer. If we enable the idle timeouts for the parent hubs to enable hub-initiated LPM, we will get a lot of useless LPM packets on the bus as the devices reject LPM transitions when they're in the middle of receiving data. Worse, some devices might blindly accept the hub-initiated LPM and power down their radios while they're in the middle of receiving a transmission. The Intel Windows folks are disabling hub-initiated LPM for all USB communications devices under a xHCI USB 3.0 host. In order to keep the Linux behavior as close as possible to Windows, we need to do the same in Linux. Set the disable_hub_initiated_lpm flag for for all USB communications drivers. I know there aren't currently any USB 3.0 devices that implement these class specifications, but we should be ready if they do. The header file <linux/usb/rndis_host.h> used a number of #defines that included the cpu_to_le32() macro to assure the result will be in LE endianness. Inlining this into the code instead of using it in the code definitions yields consolidation opportunities later on as you will see in the following patches. The individual drivers also used local defines - all are switched over to the pattern of doing the conversion at the call sites instead.
