2022-12-12stmmac: fix potential division by 0Piergiorgio Beruto1-1/+1
When the MAC is connected to a 10 Mb/s PHY and the PTP clock is derived from the MAC reference clock (default), the clk_ptp_rate becomes too small and the calculated sub second increment becomes 0 when computed by the stmmac_config_sub_second_increment() function within stmmac_init_tstamp_counter(). Therefore, the subsequent div_u64 in stmmac_init_tstamp_counter() operation triggers a divide by 0 exception as shown below. 2021-04-14net: stmmac: Add support for external trigger timestampingTan Tee Min1-0/+1
The Synopsis MAC controller supports auxiliary snapshot feature that allows user to store a snapshot of the system time based on an external event. This patch add supports to the above mentioned feature. Users will be able to triggered capturing the time snapshot from user-space using application such as testptp or any other applications that uses the PTP_EXTTS_REQUEST ioctl request. 2021-03-24net: stmmac: Add hardware supported cross-timestampTan Tee Min1-0/+23
Cross timestamping is supported on Integrated Ethernet Controller in Intel SoC such as EHL and TGL with Always Running Timer. The hardware cross-timestamp result is made available to applications through the PTP_SYS_OFFSET_PRECISE ioctl which calls stmmac_getcrosststamp(). Device time is stored in the MAC Auxiliary register. The 64-bit System time (ART timestamp) is stored in registers that are only addressable by using MDIO space. 2019-02-06net: stmmac: fix ptp timestamping on Rx on gmac4Ilias Apalodimas1-2/+7
The current driver only enables Pdelay_Req and Pdelay_Resp when HWTSTAMP_FILTER_PTP_V2_EVENT, HWTSTAMP_FILTER_PTP_V1_L4_EVENT or HWTSTAMP_FILTER_PTP_V2_L4_EVENT is requested. This results in ptp sync on slave mode to report 'received SYNC without timestamp' when using ptp4l. Although the hardware can support Sync, Pdelay_Req and Pdelay_resp by setting bit14 annd bits 17/16 to 01 this leaves Delay_Req timestamps out. Fix this by enabling all event and general messages timestamps. This includes SYNC, Follow_Up, Delay_Req, Delay_Resp, Pdelay_Req, Pdelay_Resp and Pdelay_Resp_Follow_Up messages. 2014-08-29stmmac: ptp: fix the reference clockGiuseppe CAVALLARO1-2/+0
The PTP reference clock, used for setting the addend in the Timestamp Addend Register, was erroneously hard-coded (as reported in the databook just as example). The patch removes the macro named: STMMAC_SYSCLOCK and allows to use a reference clock (clk_ptp_ref_i) that can be passed from the platform. If not passed, the main driver clock will be used as default; note that this can be fine on some platforms. Note that, prior this patch, using the old STMMAC_SYSCLOCK on some platforms, as side effect, the ptp clock can move faster/slower than the system clock. 2013-03-26stmmac: add IEEE PTPv1 and PTPv2 support.Rayagond Kokatanur1-0/+74
This patch enhances the stmmac driver to support IEEE 1588-2002 PTP (Precision Time Protocol) version 1 and IEEE 1588-2008 PPT version 2. Precision Time Protocol(PTP),which enables precise synchronization of clocks in measurement and control systems implemented with technologies such as network communication, local computing, & distributed objects. Both PTPv1 and PTPv2 is selected at run-time using the HW capability register. The PTPv1 TimeStamp support can be used on chips that have the normal descriptor structures and PTPv2 TimeStamp support can be used on chips that have the Extended descriptors(DES4-5-6-7). All such sanity checks are done and verified by using HW capability register. V2: in this version the ethtool support has been included in this patch; Koptions have been completely removed (previously added to select PTP and PTPv2). PTPv1 and PTPv2 is now added in a single patch instead of two patches. get_timestamp() and get_systemtime() L/H have been combined into single APIs.
