2015-02-09i40e: fix led blink toggle to enable steady stateMatt Jared1-2/+4
Make sure to clear the GPIO blink field, instead of OR'ing against zero if the field is already '1'. Change-ID: Ie52a52abd48f6f52b20778a6b8b0c542dfc9245c Signed-off-by: Matt Jared <matthew.a.jared@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2015-01-16i40e: Support for NPAR iSCSI partition with DCBNeerav Parikh1-0/+5
Add parsing and reporting of iSCSI capability for a given device or function. Also add support for iSCSI partition type with DCB in NPAR mode. In this mode it is expected that software would configure both the LAN and iSCSI traffic classes for the iSCSI partition; whereas all the NIC type partitions will use LAN TC (TC0) only. Hence, the patch enables querying of DCB configuration in MFP mode and configures TCs for iSCSI partition type. Though NIC type partitions may not have more than 1 TC enabled for them the port may have multiple TCs enabled and hence I40E_FLAG_DCB_ENABLED will be set/reset on all the partitions based on number of TCs on the port. This is required as in DCB environment it is expected that all traffic will be priority tagged. 2015-01-13i40e/i40evf: find partition_id in npar modeShannon Nelson1-0/+66
When in NPAR mode the driver instance might be controlling the base partition or one of the other "fake" PFs. There are some things that can only be done by the base partition, aka partition_id 1. This code does a bit of work to find how many partitions are there per port and what is the current partition_id. 2014-12-06i40e: get pf_id from HW rather than PCI functionShannon Nelson1-12/+11
Getting the pf_id from the function number was a good place to start, but when the PF was setup in passthru mode, the PCI bus/device/function was virtualized and the number in the VM is different from the number in the bare metal. This caused HW configuration issues when the wrong pf_id was used to set up the HMC and other structures. The PF_FUNC_RID register has the real bus/device/function information as configured by the BIOS, so use that for a better number. This works in NPAR mode as well. 2014-11-18i40e: Add support to firmware CEE DCBX modeNeerav Parikh1-0/+28
This patch allows i40e driver to query and use DCB configuration from firmware when firmware DCBX agent is in CEE mode. 2014-11-18i40e: Resume Port Tx after DCB eventNeerav Parikh1-0/+20
When there are DCB configuration changes based on DCBX the firmware suspends the port's Tx and generates an event to the PF. The PF is then responsible to reconfigure the PF VSIs and switching topology as per the updated DCB configuration and then resume the port's Tx by calling the "Resume Port Tx" AQ command. This patch adds this call to the flow that handles DCB re-configuration in the PF. 2014-08-27i40e/i40evf: add max buf len to aq debug print helperShannon Nelson1-2/+6
There is at least one case in the Firmware API where the response to a command changes the buffer size field in the AQ descriptor to a larger number than what the request's buffer size started as. This is in addition to setting an error flag and is in order to tell the requester how much larger a buffer is required for the answer. We need to be sure not to use that number when dumping the contents of the data buffer because it can send us into the weeds and generate an invalid pointer exception. This patch adds a max buffer size parameter to the print helper to be sure the code knows when to stop. 2014-07-24i40e/i40evf: Add nvmupdate supportShannon Nelson1-0/+88
This implements a state machine intended to support the userland tool for updating the device eeprom. The state machine implements one-shot reads, writes, multi-step write sessions, and checksum requests. If we're in the middle of a multi-step write session, no one should fire off other writes, however, one shot reads are valid. The userland tool is expected to keep track of its session status, arrange the placement and ordering of the writes, and deal with the checksum requirement. This patch also adds nvmupdate support to ethtool callbacks. The get_eeprom() and set_eeprom() services in ethtool are used here to facilitate the userland NVMUpdate tool. The 'magic' value in the get and set commands is used to pass additional control information for managing the read and write steps. The read operation works both as normally expected in the standard ethtool method, as well as with the extra NVM controls. The write operation works only for the expanded NVM functions - the normal ethtool method is not allowed because of the NVM semaphore management needed for multipart writes, as well as the checksum requirement. 2014-07-16i40e: Add ndo_get_phys_port_id() callback supportNeerav Parikh1-0/+25
This patch adds a new API to get the port mac address from firmware. It also adds support to the ndo_get_phys_port_id() callback to provide port specific unique id to the netdev layer. If the adapter has a valid per-port mac address then that would be used for this purpose and is expected to be unique on a per-port basis. The information can be viewed by reading the phys_port_id attribute in sysfs for each netdev or via IF netlink interface. 2014-01-17i40e: implement DCB support infastructureNeerav Parikh1-0/+119
Intel XL710 series of adapters support QoS as per the IEEE 802.1 DCB (Data Center Bridging) standard. This is supported in conjuction with: - Enhanced Transmission Selection (ETS) - IEEE 802.1Qaz - Priority Flow Control (PFC) - IEEE 802.1Qbb - DCB eXchange Protocol (DCBX) - IEEE 802.1Qaz On Intel XL710 adapters DCBX is performed by the adapter firmware. The firmware runs DCBX in willing mode and configures the port as per the DCB settings recommended by it's link partner. By default in absence of any DCBX; firmware would configure the port with a single traffic class and all of the port bandwith will be allocated to that traffic class. This patch adds functions and calls to support querying and configuring DCB using firmware APIs.
