Some files add a comment giving the path of the file inside the Linux tree, which is pretty useless since the reader had to find the file to open it. With the introduction of sharpslpart partition parser we can now read the offsets from NAND: we specify the list of the parsers as platform data, with cmdlinepart and ofpart parsers first allowing to override the part. table written in NAND. We are planning to share more code between different NAND based devices (SPI NAND, OneNAND and raw NANDs), but before doing that we need to move the existing include/linux/mtd/nand.h file into include/linux/mtd/rawnand.h so we can later create a nand.h header containing all common structure and function prototypes. 2012-03-27mtd: flash drivers set ecc strengthMike Dunn1-0/+1
Flash device drivers initialize 'ecc_strength' in struct mtd_info, which is the maximum number of bit errors that can be corrected in one writesize region. Drivers using the nand interface intitialize 'strength' in struct nand_ecc_ctrl, which is the maximum number of bit errors that can be corrected in one ecc step. Nand infrastructure code translates this to 'ecc_strength'. Also for nand drivers, the nand infrastructure code sets ecc.strength for ecc modes NAND_ECC_SOFT, NAND_ECC_SOFT_BCH, and NAND_ECC_NONE. It is set in the driver for all other modes. The hwcontrol function enforced a step by step state machine for any kind of hardware chip access. Let the hardware driver know which control bits are set and inform it about a change of the control lines. Let the hardware driver write out the command and address bytes directly.
