2020-01-08media: cx231xx: replace BUG_ON with recovery codeAditya Pakki1-1/+2
In cx231xx_i2c_register, if dev->cx231xx_send_usb_command is NULL, the code crashes. However, the callers in cx231xx-core are able to handle the error without crashing. This patch fixes this issue. 2019-12-13media: cs231xx: Clean up ALSA PCM API usagesTakashi Iwai1-77/+1
With the recent change in ALSA PCM core, the whole open-coded vmalloc buffer handling in this driver can be dropped by replacing with the managed buffer allocation. Also, snd_cx231xx_hw_capture_free() is dropped since the check of stream_started flag makes no sense; hw_free callback is guaranteed to be called after the stream gets stopped. Instead of filling in the struct v4l2_capability device_caps field, fill in the struct video_device device_caps field. That way the V4L2 core knows what the capabilities of the video device are. 2019-05-18media: prefix header search paths with $(srctree)/Masahiro Yamada1-2/+2
Currently, the Kbuild core manipulates header search paths in a crazy way [1]. To fix this mess, I want all Makefiles to add explicit $(srctree)/ to the search paths in the srctree. Some Makefiles are already written in that way, but not all. The goal of this work is to make the notation consistent, and finally get rid of the gross hacks. Having whitespaces after -I does not matter since commit 48f6e3cf5bc6 ("kbuild: do not drop -I without parameter"). If g_selection is implemented, then the v4l2-ioctl cropcap code assumes that cropcap just implements the pixelaspect part and that g_selection provides the crop bounds and default rectangles. There are still some drivers that only implement cropcap and not g_selection. Split up cropcap into a cropcap and g_selection for those drivers. 2018-10-09media: cx231xx: fix potential sign-extension overflow on large shiftColin Ian King1-1/+1
Shifting the u8 value[3] by an int can lead to sign-extension overflow. For example, if value[3] is 0xff and the shift is 24 then it is promoted to int and then the top bit is sign-extended so that all upper 32 bits are set. Fix this by casting value[3] to a u32 before the shift. 2018-08-02media: cx231xx: use irqsave() in USB's complete callbackSebastian Andrzej Siewior3-10/+15
The USB completion callback does not disable interrupts while acquiring the lock. We want to remove the local_irq_disable() invocation from __usb_hcd_giveback_urb() and therefore it is required for the callback handler to disable the interrupts while acquiring the lock. The callback may be invoked either in IRQ or BH context depending on the USB host controller. Use the _irqsave() variant of the locking primitives. The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This patch replaces cases of: kzalloc(a * b, gfp) with: kcalloc(a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp) with: kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. The kmalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kmalloc_array(). This patch replaces cases of: kmalloc(a * b, gfp) with: kmalloc_array(a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: kmalloc(a * b * c, gfp) with: kmalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: kmalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: kmalloc(4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. The tools/ directory was manually excluded, since it has its own implementation of kmalloc().
