2022-09-24media: sun6i-csi: Remove controls handler from the driverPaul Kocialkowski3-20/+1
The driver does not expose controls directly and thus does not need a controls handler for its own use. Controls attached to subdevs used to be exposed that way, however this can easily lead to issue when multiple subdevs attached to the same v4l2 device expose the same controls. Subdev controls should be set through each individual subdev node instead. Merge contents of structs sun6i_csi and sun6i_csi_dev into a main sun6i_csi_device structure holding a sun6i_csi_v4l2 struct for things related to v4l2, as well as the already-existing sun6i_csi_video and sun6i_csi_config which are left unchanged. This mostly simplifies accessing stuff by having a single main structure accessible to every part of the code instead of a private definition. Also solve some kerneldoc warnings by describing return codes while at it. No functional change is intended in this commit, variables are just moved around (cosmetics). 2022-07-08media: sunxi: Add support for the A83T MIPI CSI-2 controllerPaul Kocialkowski9-0/+1150
The A83T supports MIPI CSI-2 with a composite controller, covering both the protocol logic and the D-PHY implementation. This controller seems to be found on the A83T only and probably was abandoned since. This implementation splits the protocol and D-PHY registers and uses the PHY framework internally. The D-PHY is not registered as a standalone PHY driver since it cannot be used with any other controller. There are a few notable points about the controller: - The initialisation sequence involes writing specific magic init values that do not seem to make any particular sense given the concerned register fields; - Interrupts appear to be hitting regardless of the interrupt mask registers, which can cause a serious flood when transmission errors occur. Only 8-bit and 10-bit Bayer formats are currently supported. While up to 4 internal channels to the CSI controller exist, only one is currently supported by this implementation. This work is based on the first version of the driver submitted by Kévin L'hôpital, which was adapted to mainline from the Allwinner BSP. This version integrates MIPI CSI-2 support as a standalone V4L2 subdev instead of merging it in the sun6i-csi driver. It was tested on a Banana Pi M3 board with an OV8865 sensor in a 4-lane configuration. The A31 MIPI CSI-2 controller is a dedicated MIPI CSI-2 bridge found on Allwinner SoCs such as the A31 and V3/V3s. It is a standalone block, connected to the CSI controller on one side and to the MIPI D-PHY block on the other. It has a dedicated address space, interrupt line and clock. It is represented as a V4L2 subdev to the CSI controller and takes a MIPI CSI-2 sensor as its own subdev, all using the fwnode graph and media controller API. Only 8-bit and 10-bit Bayer formats are currently supported. While up to 4 internal channels to the CSI controller exist, only one is currently supported by this implementation. 2022-03-18media: Kconfig: cleanup VIDEO_DEV dependenciesMauro Carvalho Chehab4-4/+4
media Kconfig has two entries associated to V4L API: VIDEO_DEV and VIDEO_V4L2. On Kernel 2.6.x, there were two V4L APIs, each one with its own flag. VIDEO_DEV were meant to: 1) enable Video4Linux and make its Kconfig options to appear; 2) it makes the Kernel build the V4L core. while VIDEO_V4L2 where used to distinguish between drivers that implement the newer API and drivers that implemented the former one. With time, such meaning changed, specially after the removal of all V4L version 1 drivers. At the current implementation, VIDEO_DEV only does (1): it enables the media options related to V4L, that now has: menu "Video4Linux options" visible if VIDEO_DEV source "drivers/media/v4l2-core/Kconfig" endmenu but it doesn't affect anymore the V4L core drivers. The rationale is that the V4L2 core has a "soft" dependency at the I2C bus, and now requires to select a number of other Kconfig options: config VIDEO_V4L2 tristate depends on (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV select RATIONAL select VIDEOBUF2_V4L2 if VIDEOBUF2_CORE default (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV In the past, merging them would be tricky, but it seems that it is now possible to merge those symbols, in order to simplify V4L dependencies. Let's keep VIDEO_DEV, as this one is used on some make *defconfig configurations. Right now, platform dependencies are organized by the type of the platform driver. Yet, things tend to become very messy with time. The better seems to organize the drivers per manufacturer, as other Kernel subsystems are doing. As a preparation for such purpose, get rid of menuconfigs, moving the per-menu dependencies to be at the driver-specifig config entires. This shoud give flexibility to reorganize the platform drivers per manufacturer and re-sort them. This patch removes all "if..endif" options from the platform Kconfig, converting them into depends on. With gstreamer 1.19.3 all attempts to capture video in YUV formats on our Allwinner H3-based custom board with an ov5640 sensor result in pipeline crashes with the following messages: Device '/dev/video0' does not support 2:0:0:0 colorimetry Additional debug info: Device wants 2:0:0:0 colorimetry Fix this by setting the correct colorspace in sun6i_video_try_fmt(). We have 'struct v4l2_subdev_pad_config' which contains configuration for a single pad used for the TRY functionality, and an array of those structs is passed to various v4l2_subdev_pad_ops. I was working on subdev internal routing between pads, and realized that there's no way to add TRY functionality for routes, which is not pad specific configuration. Adding a separate struct for try-route config wouldn't work either, as e.g. set-fmt needs to know the try-route configuration to propagate the settings. This patch adds a new struct, 'struct v4l2_subdev_state' (which at the moment only contains the v4l2_subdev_pad_config array) and the new struct is used in most of the places where v4l2_subdev_pad_config was used. All v4l2_subdev_pad_ops functions taking v4l2_subdev_pad_config are changed to instead take v4l2_subdev_state. The changes to drivers/media/v4l2-core/v4l2-subdev.c and include/media/v4l2-subdev.h were written by hand, and all the driver changes were done with the semantic patch below. The spatch needs to be applied to a select list of directories.
