2021-01-06HID: intel-ish-hid: ipc: Address EHL Sx resume issuesZhang Lixu3-1/+33
When OOB is disabled, FW will be power gated when system is in S3/S4/S5 which is the same behavior with legacy ISH FW. When OOB is enabled, FW will always power on which is totally different comparing to legacy ISH FW. So NO_D3 flag is not enough to check FW's status after resume. Here we can use IPC FW status register to check host link status. If it is false, it means FW get reset after power gated, need go through the whole initialization flow; If it is true, it means FW is alive, just set host ready bit to let fw know host is up. 2021-01-06HID: intel-ish-hid: ipc: finish power flow for EHL OOBZhang Lixu1-0/+48
The EHL (Elkhart Lake) based platforms provide a OOB (Out of band) service, which allows wakup device when the system is in S5 (Soft-Off state). This OOB service can be enabled/disabled from BIOS settings. When enabled, the ISH device gets PME wake capability. To enable PME wakeup, driver also needs to enable ACPI GPE bit. Once wakeup, BIOS will clear the wakeup bit to identify wakeup is successful. So driver need to re-enable it in resume function to keep the next wakeup capability. Since this feature is only present on EHL, we use EHL PCI device id to enable this feature. 2020-09-29PCI/PM: Rename pci_dev.d3_delay to d3hot_delayKrzysztof Wilczyński1-1/+1
PCI devices support two variants of the D3 power state: D3hot (main power present) D3cold (main power removed). Previously struct pci_dev contained: unsigned int d3_delay; /* D3->D0 transition time in ms */ unsigned int d3cold_delay; /* D3cold->D0 transition time in ms */ "d3_delay" refers specifically to the D3hot state. Rename it to "d3hot_delay" to avoid ambiguity and align with the ACPI "_DSM for Specifying Device Readiness Durations" in the PCI Firmware spec r3.2, sec 4.6.9. There is no change to the functionality. PCI_DEV_FLAGS_NO_D3 should not be used outside of PCI core. Instead, we can use pci_save_state() to hint PCI core that the device should stay at D0 during suspend. By doing so, PCI core will let the upstream bridges also stays at D0 so the entire hierarchy is in the correct power state as PCI spec mandates. 2020-03-21HID: intel-ish-hid: hbm.h: Replace zero-length array with flexible-array memberGustavo A. R. Silva1-1/+1
The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99: struct foo { int stuff; struct boo array[]; }; By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on. Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by this change: "Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1] This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle. For suspend-to-idle, send suspend message and set N0_D3 flag to put the ISH into D0i3 state. For suspend-to-mem, disable the DMA bit before ISH entering D3, and NO_D3 flag is cleared by default, then the ISH would enter D3. 2019-08-19HID: intel-ish-hid: ipc: set NO_D3 flag only when neededZhang Lixu3-3/+21
Currently, the NO_D3 flag is set in ish_probe(), and cleared in ish_remove(). So even if the system goes into S3, ISH is still in D0i3 state. It makes more sense that put ISH into D3 as system goes into S3 and put ISH into D0i3 as system goes into suspend-to-idle. I remove the NO_D3 setting in ish_probe(), so that ISH can enter D3 state when system enters S3. Only set N0_D3 flag when system enters the suspend-to-idle or platform specified, and clear it when system resume. When the ISH enters D3, the FW will check the DMA bit status. If the DMA bit is set, the FW will reset automatically. So the DMA bit need be clear before putting ISH into D3 state. 2019-06-26HID: intel-ish-hid: fix wrong driver_data usageHyungwoo Yang2-3/+16
Currently, in suspend() and resume(), ishtp client drivers are using driver_data to get "struct ishtp_cl_device" object which is set by bus driver. It's wrong since the driver_data should not be owned bus. driver_data should be owned by the corresponding ishtp client driver. Due to this, some ishtp client driver like cros_ec_ishtp which uses its driver_data to transfer its data to its child doesn't work correctly. So this patch removes setting driver_data in bus drier and instead of using driver_data to get "struct ishtp_cl_device", since "struct device" is embedded in "struct ishtp_cl_device", we introduce a helper function that returns "struct ishtp_cl_device" from "struct device". 2019-03-19HID: intel-ish-hid: Add interface functions for struct ishtp_clSrinivas Pandruvada1-0/+42
Instead of directly accessing members of struct ishtp_cl, create interface functions to access them. Signed-off-by: Srinivas Pandruvada <srinivas.pandruvada@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jiri Kosina <jkosina@suse.cz>
2019-03-19HID: intel-ish-hid: Move the common functions from client.hSrinivas Pandruvada2-50/+0
Move the interface functions in client.h to common include. These are already abstracted well to use as is. Also move any associated structures used by these functions. Signed-off-by: Srinivas Pandruvada <srinivas.pandruvada@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jiri Kosina <jkosina@suse.cz>
2019-03-19HID: intel-ish-hid: Store ishtp_cl_device instance in deviceSrinivas Pandruvada1-0/+1
Store ishtp_cl_device pointer in device struct private data. In this way we can get ishtp_cl_device * from device struct pointer. Signed-off-by: Srinivas Pandruvada <srinivas.pandruvada@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jiri Kosina <jkosina@suse.cz>
2019-03-19HID: intel-ish-hid: Move driver registry functionsSrinivas Pandruvada3-31/+6
Move the driver registry with the ishtp bus to the common interface file, which clients can include. Also rename __ishtp_cl_driver_register() to ishtp_cl_driver_register() and removed define for ishtp_cl_driver_register. 2019-03-19HID: intel-ish-hid: Simplify ishtp_cl_link()Srinivas Pandruvada3-12/+6
All callers will only use ISHTP_HOST_CLIENT_ID_ANY, so get rid of option to pass this additional id. Signed-off-by: Srinivas Pandruvada <srinivas.pandruvada@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jiri Kosina <jkosina@suse.cz>
2019-03-19HID: intel-ish-hid: Hide members of struct ishtp_cl_deviceSrinivas Pandruvada6-29/+66
ISH clients don't need to access any field of struct ishtp_cl_device. To avoid this create an interface functions instead where it is required. In the case of ishtp_cl_allocate(), modify the parameters so that the clients don't have to dereference. Clients can also use tracing, here a new interface is added to get the common trace function pointer, instead of direct call. The new interface functions defined in one external header file, named intel-ish-client-if.h. This is the only header files all ISHTP clients must include. 2019-03-19HID: intel-ish-hid: Add match callback to ishtp bus typeHong Liu3-4/+23
Currently we depend on the guid check in ishtp_cl_driver.probe to match the device and driver. However Linux device core first calls the match() callback to decide the matching of driver and device, and then does some preparation before calling the driver probe function. If we return error in the driver probe, it needs to tear down all the preparation work and retry with next driver. Adding the match callback can avoid the unnecessary entry into unmatched driver probe function for ishtp clients reported by FW. 2019-02-15HID: intel-ish-hid: remove data[128] usage on stack when sending HBM requestHong Liu3-63/+38
Instead of using an 128-byte on-stack array to store the request, we can instantiate the request on stack directly. This can save the stack usage of these functions, since most of the requests are much smaller than 128 bytes. 2019-02-15HID: intel-ish-hid: move doorbell writing before flushHong Liu1-2/+2

2019-02-15HID: intel-ish-hid: Optimize writing ipc message from queueHong Liu2-18/+3
Currently we are using one additional static variable and a spinlock to prevent contention of writing IPC messages to ISH hardware, which is not necessary. Once ISH is ready to accept new data, we can push new data to hardware. This pushing of new data is already protected by wr_processing_spinlock for contention, which is enough. So use this spinlock to check both readiness for accepting new data and once ready allow writing of ipc message from queue to ISH hardware. While here, cleaned up some space after return. 2019-02-15HID: intel-ish-hid: avoid binding wrong ishtp_cl_deviceHong Liu1-1/+3
When performing a warm reset in ishtp bus driver, the ishtp_cl_device will not be removed, its fw_client still points to the already freed ishtp_device.fw_clients array. Later after driver finishing ishtp client enumeration, this dangling pointer may cause driver to bind the wrong ishtp_cl_device to the new client, causing wrong callback to be called for messages intended for the new client. This helps in development of firmware where frequent switching of firmwares is required without Linux reboot. 2019-02-01HID: intel-ish-hid: Use VID/PID from ISHSrinivas Pandruvada1-2/+2
The Intel ISH HID can now have other devices attached to it, not just sensors. Hence ISH HID transport is no longer just used for sensors. Currently the vendor and product id is hardcoded for sensors, but they can be obtained from ISH firmware for the real device. The driver already extract them and store as part of device_info structure in client_data. So use vendor id/product id obtained from the ISH firmware.
