2021-02-09HID: ite: Enable QUIRK_TOUCHPAD_ON_OFF_REPORT on Acer Aspire Switch 10EHans de Goede1-3/+9
The Acer Aspire Switch 10E (SW3-016)'s keyboard-dock uses the same USB-ids as the Acer One S1003 keyboard-dock. Yet they are not entirely the same: 1. The S1003 keyboard-dock has the same report descriptors as the S1002 keyboard-dock (which has different USB-ids) 2. The Acer Aspire Switch 10E's keyboard-dock has different report descriptors from the S1002/S1003 keyboard docks and it sends 0x00880078 / 0x00880079 usage events when the touchpad is toggled on/off (which is handled internally). This means that all Acer kbd-docks handled by the hid-ite.c drivers report their touchpad being toggled on/off through these custom usage-codes with the exception of the S1003 dock, which likely is a bug of that dock. Add a QUIRK_TOUCHPAD_ON_OFF_REPORT quirk for the Aspire Switch 10E / S1003 usb-id so that the touchpad toggling will get reported to userspace on the Aspire Switch 10E. Since the Aspire Switch 10E's kbd-dock has different report-descriptors, this also requires adding support for fixing those to ite_report_fixup(). Setting the quirk will also cause ite_report_fixup() to hit the S1002/S1003 descriptors path on the S1003. Since the S1003 kbd-dock never generates any input-reports for the fixed up part of the descriptors this does not matter; and if there are versions out there which do actually send input-reports for the touchpad-toggle then the fixup should actually help to make things work. This was tested on both an Acer Aspire Switch 10E and on an Acer One S1003. Signed-off-by: Hans de Goede <hdegoede@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Jiri Kosina <jkosina@suse.cz>
2020-11-27HID: ite: Add support for Acer S1002 keyboard-dockHans de Goede1-1/+12
Make the hid-ite driver handle the Acer S1002 keyboard-dock, this leads to 2 improvements: 1. The non working wifi-toggle hotkey now works. 2. Toggling the touchpad on of with the hotkey will no show OSD notifications in e.g. GNOME3. The actual toggling is handled inside the keyboard, this adds support for notifying evdev listeners about this. 2020-10-22HID: ite: Replace ABS_MISC 120/121 events with touchpad on/off keypressesHans de Goede1-1/+60
The usb-hid keyboard-dock for the Acer Switch 10 SW5-012 model declares an application and hid-usage page of 0x0088 for the INPUT(4) report which it sends. This reports contains 2 8-bit fields which are declared as HID_MAIN_ITEM_VARIABLE. The keyboard-touchpad combo never actually generates this report, except when the touchpad is toggled on/off with the Fn + F7 hotkey combo. The toggle on/off is handled inside the keyboard-dock, when the touchpad is toggled off it simply stops sending events. When the touchpad is toggled on/off an INPUT(4) report is generated with the first content byte set to 120/121, before this commit the kernel would report this as ABS_MISC 120/121 events. Patch the descriptor to replace the HID_MAIN_ITEM_VARIABLE with HID_MAIN_ITEM_RELATIVE (because no key-presss release events are send) and add mappings for the 0x00880078 and 0x00880079 usages to generate touchpad on/off key events when the touchpad is toggled on/off. 2020-09-09HID: ite: Add USB id match for Acer One S1003 keyboard dockHans de Goede1-0/+4
The Acer One S1003 2-in-1 keyboard dock uses a Synaptics S910xx touchpad which is connected to an ITE 8910 USB keyboard controller chip. This keyboard has the same quirk for its rfkill / airplane mode hotkey as other keyboards with ITE keyboard chips, it only sends a single release event when pressed and released, it never sends a press event. This commit adds this keyboards USB id to the hid-ite id-table, fixing the rfkill key not working on this keyboard. Note that like for the Acer Aspire Switch 10 (SW5-012) the id-table entry matches on the HID_GROUP_GENERIC generic group so that hid-ite only binds to the keyboard interface and the mouse/touchpad interface is left untouched so that hid-multitouch can bind to it. 2020-02-03HID: ite: Only bind to keyboard USB interface on Acer SW5-012 keyboard dockHans de Goede1-2/+3
Commit 8f18eca9ebc5 ("HID: ite: Add USB id match for Acer SW5-012 keyboard dock") added the USB id for the Acer SW5-012's keyboard dock to the hid-ite driver to fix the rfkill driver not working. Most keyboard docks with an ITE 8595 keyboard/touchpad controller have the "Wireless Radio Control" bits which need the special hid-ite driver on the second USB interface (the mouse interface) and their touchpad only supports mouse emulation, so using generic hid-input handling for anything but the "Wireless Radio Control" bits is fine. On these devices we simply bind to all USB interfaces. But unlike other ITE8595 using keyboard docks, the Acer Aspire Switch 10 (SW5-012)'s touchpad not only does mouse emulation it also supports HID-multitouch and all the keys including the "Wireless Radio Control" bits have been moved to the first USB interface (the keyboard intf). So we need hid-ite to handle the first (keyboard) USB interface and have it NOT bind to the second (mouse) USB interface so that that can be handled by hid-multitouch.c and we get proper multi-touch support. This commit changes the hid_device_id for the SW5-012 keyboard dock to only match on hid devices from the HID_GROUP_GENERIC group, this way hid-ite will not bind the the mouse/multi-touch interface which has HID_GROUP_MULTITOUCH_WIN_8 as group. This fixes the regression to mouse-emulation mode introduced by adding the keyboard dock USB id. 2018-11-30HID: ite: Add USB id match for another ITE based keyboard rfkill key quirkHans de Goede1-0/+1
The 258a:6a88 keyboard-dock shipped with the Prowise PT301 tablet is likely another ITE based design. The controller die is directly bonded to the PCB with a blob of black glue on top so there are no markings and the 258a vendor-id used is unknown anywhere. But the keyboard has the exact same hotkeys mapped to Fn+F1 - F10 as the other ITE8595 keyboard I have *and* it has the same quirky behavior wrt the rfkill hotkey. Either way as said this keyboard has the same quirk for its rfkill / airplane mode hotkey as the ITE 8595 chip, it only sends a single release event when pressed and released, it never sends a press event. This commit adds the 258a:6a88 USB id to the hid-ite id-table, fixing the rfkill key not working on this keyboard. 2017-05-11HID: ite: Add hid-ite driverHans de Goede1-0/+56
The ITE8595 keyboard uses the HID_GD_RFKILL_BTN usage code from the Wireless Radio Controls Application Collection Microsoft has defined for Windows 8 and later. However it has a quirk, when the rfkill hotkey is pressed it does generate a report for the collection, but the reported value is always 0. Luckily it is the only button in this collection / report, and it sends a report on release only, so receiving a report means the button was pressed. This commit adds a hid-ite driver which watches for the Wireless Radio Controls Application Collection report and then reports a KEY_RFKILL event, ignoring the value, making the rfkill on this keyboard work.
