2019-07-25drm/via: copy DRM_WAIT_ON as VIA_WAIT_ON and use itSam Ravnborg1-1/+41
VIA_WAIT_ON() is a direct copy of DRM_WAIT_ON() from drm_os_linux.h. The copy is made so we can avoid the dependency on the legacy header. A more involved approach had been to introduce wait_event_* but for this legacy driver the simpler and more safe approach with a copy of the macro was selected. The DRM_READ, DRM_WRITE macros comes from the deprecated drm_os_linux.h header file. Remove their use to remove this dependency. 2017-11-06drm: via: use ktime_get() instead of do_gettimeofdayArnd Bergmann1-2/+2
We want to remove uses of do_gettimeofday() from the kernel since the resulting timeval structure overflows in 2038. This is not a problem for this particular use, but do_gettimeofday() is also not an appropriate method for measuring time intervals, since it requires a conversion into microseconds and is complicated to work with. ktime_get() is a better replacement, as it works with the monontonic kernel timebase and requires a minimum of computation. I'm slightly changing the output from microseconds to nanoseconds here, to avoid introducing a new division operation. This should be fine since the value is only used for debugging. To make the transition in a piece-wise and bisectable way possible, I've hijacked the ->owner_list from drm_sman. While transitioning, the list_add was done by the driver, while the list_del was still done by the dying sman code. Now that we are in full control of ->owner_list, do the list_del ourselves. v2: Better explain the list_del trickery as suggested by Chris Wilson. 2008-10-18drm: Rework vblank-wait handling to allow interrupt reduction.Jesse Barnes1-6/+10
Previously, drivers supporting vblank interrupt waits would run the interrupt all the time, or all the time that any 3d client was running, preventing the CPU from sleeping for long when the system was otherwise idle. Now, interrupts are disabled any time that no client is waiting on a vblank event. The new method uses vblank counters on the chipsets when the interrupts are turned off, rather than counting interrupts, so that we can continue to present accurate vblank numbers. With the coming of kernel based modesetting and the memory manager stuff, the everything in one directory approach was getting very ugly and starting to be unmanageable. This restructures the drm along the lines of other kernel components. It creates a drivers/gpu/drm directory and moves the hw drivers into subdirectores.
