2012-08-13drm/radeon: do not reenable crtc after moving vram start addressJerome Glisse1-57/+0
It seems we can not update the crtc scanout address. After disabling crtc, update to base address do not take effect after crtc being reenable leading to at least frame being scanout from the old crtc base address. Disabling crtc display request lead to same behavior. So after changing the vram address if we don't keep crtc disabled we will have the GPU trying to read some random system memory address with some iommu this will broke the crtc engine and will lead to broken display and iommu error message. So to avoid this, disable crtc. For flicker less boot we will need to avoid moving the vram start address. 1. It is really dangerous to have more than one spinlock protecting the same information. 2. radeon_irq_set sometimes wasn't called with lock protection, so it can happen that more than one CPU would tamper with the irq regs at the same time. 3. The pm.gui_idle variable was assuming that the 3D engine wasn't becoming idle between testing the register and setting the variable. Need to program an additional VM register. This doesn't not currently cause any problems, but allows us to program the proper backend map in a subsequent patch which should improve performance on these asics.
