2018-06-18ata: pata_pxa: remove the dmaengine compat needRobert Jarzmik1-9/+1
As the pxa architecture switched towards the dmaengine slave map, the old compatibility mechanism to acquire the dma requestor line number and priority are not needed anymore. This patch simplifies the dma resource acquisition, using the more generic function dma_request_slave_channel(). 2015-09-10ata: pata_pxa: dmaengine conversionRobert Jarzmik1-112/+59
The PXA architecture was offered a slave dmaengine support. As a consequence the direct DMA registers are progressively replaced by dmaengine support. This makes the pata_pxa change, which brings this driver to almost a generic ATA 40-wires driver relying on dmaengine for transfers. 2014-10-20ata: drop owner assignment from platform_driversWolfram Sang1-1/+0
A platform_driver does not need to set an owner, it will be populated by the driver core. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2014-02-13ata: delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>Paul Gortmaker1-1/+0
None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. 2013-07-30ata: use dev_get_platdata()Jingoo Han1-1/+1
Use the wrapper function for retrieving the platform data instead of accessing dev->platform_data directly. Signed-off-by: Jingoo Han <jg1.han@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Tejun Heo <tj@kernel.org>
2013-05-24ata: use platform_{get,set}_drvdata()Jingoo Han1-1/+1
Use the wrapper functions for getting and setting the driver data using platform_device instead of using dev_{get,set}_drvdata() with &pdev->dev, so we can directly pass a struct platform_device. Also, unnecessary dev_set_drvdata() is removed, because the driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure. 2013-01-03Drivers: ata: remove __dev* attributes.Greg Kroah-Hartman1-3/+3
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. 2012-09-14ARM: pxa: move platform_data definitionsArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
Platform data for device drivers should be defined in include/linux/platform_data/*.h, not in the architecture and platform specific directories. This moves such data out of the pxa include directories Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Mark Brown <broonie@opensource.wolfsonmicro.com> Acked-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Acked-by: Nicolas Pitre <nico@linaro.org> Acked-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com> Acked-by: Igor Grinberg <grinberg@compulab.co.il> Acked-by: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@redhat.com> Acked-by: Marek Vasut <marex@denx.de> Acked-by: Robert Jarzmik <robert.jarzmik@free.fr> Acked-by: Paul Parsons <lost.distance@yahoo.com> Acked-by: Vinod Koul <vinod.koul@linux.intel.com> Acked-By: Stefan Schmidt <stefan@openezx.org> Cc: Eric Miao <eric.y.miao@gmail.com> Cc: Haojian Zhuang <haojian.zhuang@gmail.com> Cc: Daniel Ribeiro <drwyrm@gmail.com> Cc: Harald Welte <laforge@openezx.org> Cc: Philipp Zabel <philipp.zabel@gmail.com> Cc: Tomas Cech <sleep_walker@suse.cz> Cc: Sergey Lapin <slapin@ossfans.org> Cc: Jonathan Cameron <jic23@cam.ac.uk> Cc: Dan Williams <djbw@fb.com> Cc: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com> Cc: Chris Ball <cjb@laptop.org> Cc: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org> Cc: Samuel Ortiz <samuel@sortiz.org> Cc: Alan Stern <stern@rowland.harvard.edu> Cc: Florian Tobias Schandinat <FlorianSchandinat@gmx.de> Cc: Liam Girdwood <lrg@ti.com> Cc: Jaroslav Kysela <perex@perex.cz> Cc: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de> Cc: Guennadi Liakhovetski <g.liakhovetski@gmx.de> Cc: Artem Bityutskiy <artem.bityutskiy@linux.intel.com> Cc: openezx-devel@lists.openezx.org
2012-01-08SATA/PATA: convert drivers/ata/* to use module_platform_driver()Axel Lin1-12/+1
This patch converts the drivers in drivers/ata/* to use the module_platform_driver() macro which makes the code smaller and a bit simpler. 2010-06-18[ARM] pata_pxa: DMA-capable PATA driverMarek Vasut1-0/+411
This patch adds a driver for a harddrive attached to PXA address and data bus. Unlike pata_platform, this driver allows usage of PXA DMA controller, making the transmission speed 3x higher.
