Pull MIPS updates from Ralf Baechle: "This is the main pull request for 4.3 for MIPS. Here's the summary: Three fixes that didn't make 4.2-stable: - a -Os build might compile the kernel using the MIPS16 instruction set but the R2 optimized inline functions in <uapi/asm/swab.h> are implemented using 32-bit wide instructions which is invalid. - a build error in pgtable-bits.h for a particular kernel configuration. - accessing registers of the CM GCR might have been compiled to use 64 bit accesses but these registers are onl 32 bit wide. And also a few new bits: - move the ATH79 GPIO driver to drivers/gpio - the definition of IRQCHIP_DECLARE has moved to linux/irqchip.h, change ATH79 accordingly. - fix definition of pgprot_writecombine - add an implementation of dma_map_ops.mmap - fix alignment of quiet build output for vmlinuz link - BCM47xx: Use kmemdup rather than duplicating its implementation - Netlogic: Fix 0x0x prefixes of constants. - merge Bjorn Helgaas' series to remove most of the weak keywords from function declarations. - CP0 and CP1 registers are best considered treated as unsigned values to avoid large values from becoming negative values. - improve support for the MIPS GIC timer. - enable common clock framework for Malta and SEAD3. - a number of improvments and fixes to dump_tlb(). - document the MIPS TLB dump functionality in Magic SysRq. - Cavium Octeon CN68XX improvments. - NetLogic improvments. - irq: Use access helper irq_data_get_affinity_mask. - handle MSA unaligned accesses. - a number of R6-related math-emu fixes. - support for I6400. - improvments to MSA support. - add uprobes support. - move from deprecated __initcall to arch_initcall. - remove finish_arch_switch(). - IRQ cleanups by Thomas Gleixner. - migrate to new 'set-state' interface. - random small cleanups" * 'upstream' of git://git.linux-mips.org/pub/scm/ralf/upstream-linus: (148 commits) MIPS: UAPI: Fix unrecognized opcode WSBH/DSBH/DSHD when using MIPS16. 2015-09-03MIPS: Netlogic: Use chip_data for irq_chip methodsKamlakant Patel1-10/+10
Update mips/netlogic/common/irq.c and mips/pci/msi-xlp.c to use chip_data to store interrupt controller data pointer. It uses handler_data now, and that causes errors when an API (like the GPIO subsystem) tries to use the handler data. 2015-09-03MIPS: Remove all the uses of custom gpio.hAlban Bedel1-1/+0
Currently CONFIG_ARCH_HAVE_CUSTOM_GPIO_H is defined for all MIPS machines, and each machine type provides its own gpio.h. However only a handful really implement the GPIO API, most just forward everythings to gpiolib. The Alchemy machine is notable as it provides a system to allow implementing the GPIO API at the board level. But it is not used by any board currently supported, so it can also be removed. For most machine types we can just remove the custom gpio.h, as well as the custom wrappers if some exists. Some of the code found in the wrappers must be moved to the respective GPIO driver. A few more fixes are need in some drivers as they rely on linux/gpio.h to provides some machine specific definitions, or used asm/gpio.h instead of linux/gpio.h for the gpio API. 2015-08-26MIPS: ops-emma2rh: Drop nonsensical db_assertPaul Burton1-4/+2
The db_assert call checks whether the bus_num pointer is non-NULL, but does so after said pointer has been dereferenced by the assignment on the previous line. Thus the check is pointless & likely to have been optimised out by the compiler anyway. The check_args function is static & only ever called from the local file with bus_num being a pointer to an on-stack variable, so the check seems somewhat overzealous anyway. Simply remove it. 2015-07-23PCI: Call pci_read_bridge_bases() from core instead of arch codeLorenzo Pieralisi1-6/+0
When we scan a PCI bus, we read PCI-PCI bridge window registers with pci_read_bridge_bases() so we can validate the resource hierarchy. Most architectures call pci_read_bridge_bases() from pcibios_fixup_bus(), but PCI-PCI bridges are not arch-specific, so this doesn't need to be in arch-specific code. Call pci_read_bridge_bases() directly from the PCI core instead of from arch code. For alpha and mips, we now call pci_read_bridge_bases() always; previously we only called it if PCI_PROBE_ONLY was set. 2015-06-21MIPS: ath79: Improve the DDR controller interfaceAlban Bedel1-11/+1
The DDR controller need to be used by the IRQ controller to flush the write buffer of some devices before running the IRQ handler. It is also used by the PCI controller to setup the PCI memory windows. The current interface used to access the DDR controller doesn't provides any useful abstraction and simply rely on a shared global pointer. Replace this by a simple API to setup the PCI memory windows and use the write buffer flush independently of the SoC type. That remove the need for the shared global pointer, simplify the IRQ handler code. 2015-04-01MIPS: PCI: Add a hook for IORESOURCE_BUS in pci_controller/bridge_controllerJoshua Kinard1-1/+4
On SGI Origin 2k/Onyx2 and SGI Octane systems, there can exist multiple PCI buses attached to the Xtalk bus. The current code will stop counting PCI buses after it finds the first one. If one installs the optional PCI cardcage ("shoebox") into these systems, because of the order of the Xtalk widgets, the current PCI code will find the cardcage first, and fail to detect the BaseIO PCI devices, which are on a higher Xtalk widget ID. This patch adds the hooks needed for resolving this issue in the IP27 PCI code (in a later patch). Verified on both an SGI Onyx2 and an SGI Octane. 2015-03-19PCI: Assign resources before drivers claim devices (pci_scan_root_bus())Yijing Wang1-0/+1
Previously, pci_scan_root_bus() created a root PCI bus, enumerated the devices on it, and called pci_bus_add_devices(), which made the devices available for drivers to claim them. Most callers assigned resources to devices after pci_scan_root_bus() returns, which may be after drivers have claimed the devices. This is incorrect; the PCI core should not change device resources while a driver is managing the device. Remove pci_bus_add_devices() from pci_scan_root_bus() and do it after any resource assignment in the callers. Note that ARM's pci_common_init_dev() already called pci_bus_add_devices() after pci_scan_root_bus(), so we only need to remove the first call: pci_common_init_dev pcibios_init_hw pci_scan_root_bus pci_bus_add_devices # first call pci_bus_assign_resources pci_bus_add_devices # second call [bhelgaas: changelog, drop "root_bus" var in alpha common_init_pci(), return failure earlier in mn10300, add "return" in x86 pcibios_scan_root(), return early if xtensa platform_pcibios_fixup() fails] Signed-off-by: Yijing Wang <wangyijing@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com> CC: Richard Henderson <rth@twiddle.net> CC: Ivan Kokshaysky <ink@jurassic.park.msu.ru> CC: Matt Turner <mattst88@gmail.com> CC: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com> CC: Tony Luck <tony.luck@intel.com> CC: Michal Simek <monstr@monstr.eu> CC: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org> CC: Koichi Yasutake <yasutake.koichi@jp.panasonic.com> CC: Sebastian Ott <sebott@linux.vnet.ibm.com> CC: "David S. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip Pull irq domain updates from Thomas Gleixner: "The real interesting irq updates: - Support for hierarchical irq domains: For complex interrupt routing scenarios where more than one interrupt related chip is involved we had no proper representation in the generic interrupt infrastructure so far. That made people implement rather ugly constructs in their nested irq chip implementations. The main offenders are x86 and arm/gic. To distangle that mess we have now hierarchical irqdomains which seperate the various interrupt chips and connect them via the hierarchical domains. That keeps the domain specific details internal to the particular hierarchy level and removes the criss/cross referencing of chip internals. The resulting hierarchy for a complex x86 system will look like this: vector mapped: 74 msi-0 mapped: 2 dmar-ir-1 mapped: 69 ioapic-1 mapped: 4 ioapic-0 mapped: 20 pci-msi-2 mapped: 45 dmar-ir-0 mapped: 3 ioapic-2 mapped: 1 pci-msi-1 mapped: 2 htirq mapped: 0 Neither ioapic nor pci-msi know about the dmar interrupt remapping between themself and the vector domain. If interrupt remapping is disabled ioapic and pci-msi become direct childs of the vector domain. In hindsight we should have done that years ago, but in hindsight we always know better :) - Support for generic MSI interrupt domain handling We have more and more non PCI related MSI interrupts, so providing a generic infrastructure for this is better than having all affected architectures implementing their own private hacks. - Support for PCI-MSI interrupt domain handling, based on the generic MSI support. This part carries the pci/msi branch from Bjorn Helgaas pci tree to avoid a massive conflict. The PCI/MSI parts are acked by Bjorn. I have two more branches on top of this. 2014-10-01PCI/MSI: Remove "pos" from the struct msi_desc msi_attribYijing Wang1-4/+2
"msi_attrib.pos" is only used for MSI (not MSI-X), and we already cache the MSI capability offset in "dev->msi_cap". Remove "pos" from the struct msi_attrib and use "dev->msi_cap" directly.
