2021-09-23MIPS: loongson64: Fix no screen display during boot-upWang Haojun1-0/+1
The Framebuffer CONFIG_FB needs to be explicitly selected or we don't get any framebuffer anymore. DRM has stopped to select FB after commit f611b1e7624ccdbd495c19e98056 ("drm: Avoid circular dependencies for CONFIG_FB") because of circular dependency. So we should enable it in the default config file, otherwise there is no display before Xorg. bpftrace is a high-level tracing language for Linux enhanced Berkeley Packet Filter (eBPF) available in recent Linux kernels (4.x). bpftrace uses LLVM as a backend to compile scripts to BPF-bytecode and makes use of BCC for interacting with the Linux BPF system, as well as existing Linux tracing capabilities: kernel dynamic tracing (kprobes), user-level dynamic tracing (uprobes), and tracepoints. 2021-01-04MIPS: Loongson64: Give chance to build under !CONFIG_NUMA and !CONFIG_SMPTiezhu Yang1-0/+2
In the current code, we can not build under !CONFIG_NUMA and !CONFIG_SMP on the Loongson64 platform, it seems bad for the users who just want to use pure single core (not nosmp) to debug, so do the following things to give them a chance: (1) Do not select NUMA and SMP for MACH_LOONGSON64 in Kconfig, make NUMA depends on SMP, and then just set them in the loongson3_defconfig. (2) Move szmem() from numa.c to init.c and add prom_init_memory() under !CONFIG_NUMA. (3) Clean up szmem() due to the statements of case SYSTEM_RAM_LOW and SYSTEM_RAM_HIGH are the same. (4) Remove the useless declaration of prom_init_memory() and add the declaration of szmem() in loongson.h to avoid build error. 2020-11-17net: wan: Delete the DLCI / SDLA driversXie He2-2/+0
The DLCI driver (dlci.c) implements the Frame Relay protocol. However, we already have another newer and better implementation of Frame Relay provided by the HDLC_FR driver (hdlc_fr.c). The DLCI driver's implementation of Frame Relay is used by only one hardware driver in the kernel - the SDLA driver (sdla.c). The SDLA driver provides Frame Relay support for the Sangoma S50x devices. However, the vendor provides their own driver (along with their own multi-WAN-protocol implementations including Frame Relay), called WANPIPE. I believe most users of the hardware would use the vendor-provided WANPIPE driver instead. (The WANPIPE driver was even once in the kernel, but was deleted in commit 8db60bcf3021 ("[WAN]: Remove broken and unmaintained Sangoma drivers.") because the vendor no longer updated the in-kernel WANPIPE driver.) 2020-11-07net: x25_asy: Delete the x25_asy driverXie He2-2/+0
This driver transports LAPB (X.25 link layer) frames over TTY links. I can safely say that this driver has no actual user because it was not working at all until: commit 8fdcabeac398 ("drivers/net/wan/x25_asy: Fix to make it work") The code in its current state still has problems: 1. The uses of "struct x25_asy" in x25_asy_unesc (when receiving) and in x25_asy_write_wakeup (when sending) are not protected by locks against x25_asy_change_mtu's changing of the transmitting/receiving buffers. Also, all "netif_running" checks in this driver are not protected by locks against the ndo_stop function. 2. The driver stops all TTY read/write when the netif is down. I think this is not right because this may cause the last outgoing frame before the netif goes down to be incompletely transmitted, and the first incoming frame after the netif goes up to be incompletely received. And there may also be other problems. I was planning to fix these problems but after recent discussions about deleting other old networking code, I think we may just delete this driver, too. We have been warning about people using the sysctl system call for years and believe there are no more users. Even if there are users of this interface if they have not complained or fixed their code by now they probably are not going to, so there is no point in warning them any longer.
