git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/kgene/linux-samsung into next/cleanup From Kukjin Kim: * 'next/cleanup-samsung-3' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/kgene/linux-samsung: ARM: EXYNOS: Remove unused regs-mem.h file ARM: EXYNOS: Remove unused non-dt support for dwmci controller
2012-11-28ARM: EXYNOS: Remove unused non-dt support for dwmci controllerThomas Abraham1-1/+0
With device tree support enabled for dwmci controller, the unused non-dt support for dwmci controller can be removed. Signed-off-by: Thomas Abraham <thomas.abraham@linaro.org> [kgene.kim@samsung.com: updated as per Seungwon Jeon's pointing out] Signed-off-by: Kukjin Kim <kgene.kim@samsung.com>
2012-11-20ARM: SAMSUNG: use devm_ functions for ADC driverEunki Kim1-35/+13
This patch uses devm_* functions for probe function in ADC driver. It reduces code size and simplifies the code. Signed-off-by: Eunki Kim <eunki_kim@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Kukjin Kim <kgene.kim@samsung.com>
2012-11-08ARM: EXYNOS: Make s3c_device_i2c0 always use id 0Tomasz Figa1-4/+0
This patch removes compatibility definitions added long time ago when clock ids were used instead of devnames that were needed for platforms with only one i2c controller with id -1 (some s3c24xx's). Because currently devname field is used for matching device instances to clocks and if no devname is provided (as in clock-s3c2412.c and common-s3c2443.c for i2c clock, both in arch/arm/mach-s3c24xx) the clock is being matched only by name, so s3c_device_i2c0 can always have id 0. This patch solves the issue with i2c0 broken on boards where its the only i2c controller used, tested on Origen. 2012-10-17ARM: SAMSUNG: Add naming of s3c64xx-spi devicesHeiko Stuebner1-0/+30
Commit a5238e360b71 (spi: s3c64xx: move controller information into driver data) introduced separate device names for the different subtypes of the spi controller but forgot to set these in the relevant machines. To fix this introduce a s3c64xx_spi_setname function and populate all Samsung arches with the correct names. The function resides in a new header, as the s3c64xx-spi.h contains driver platform data and should therefore at some later point move out of the Samsung include dir. Tested on a s3c2416-based machine. 2012-10-13ARM: config: sort select statements alphanumericallyRussell King1-7/+7
As suggested by Andrew Morton: This is a pet peeve of mine. Any time there's a long list of items (header file inclusions, kconfig entries, array initalisers, etc) and someone wants to add a new item, they *always* go and stick it at the end of the list. Guys, don't do this. Either put the new item into a randomly-chosen position or, probably better, alphanumerically sort the list. lets sort all our select statements alphanumerically. This commit was created by the following perl: while (<>) { while (/\\\s*$/) { $_ .= <>; } undef %selects if /^\s*config\s+/; if (/^\s+select\s+(\w+).*/) { if (defined($selects{$1})) { if ($selects{$1} eq $_) { print STDERR "Warning: removing duplicated $1 entry\n"; } else { print STDERR "Error: $1 differently selected\n". "\tOld: $selects{$1}\n". "\tNew: $_\n"; exit 1; } } $selects{$1} = $_; next; } if (%selects and (/^\s*$/ or /^\s+help/ or /^\s+---help---/ or /^endif/ or /^endchoice/)) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } undef %selects; } print; } if (%selects) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } } It found two duplicates: Warning: removing duplicated S5P_SETUP_MIPIPHY entry Warning: removing duplicated HARDIRQS_SW_RESEND entry and they are identical duplicates, hence the shrinkage in the diffstat of two lines. We have four testers reporting success of this change (Tony, Stephen, Linus and Sekhar.) git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/mchehab/linux-media Pull second set of media updates from Mauro Carvalho Chehab: "Despite its size, most of the stuff here is trivial. This series contains: - s5p-mfc: additions at the driver and at the core to support H.264 hardware codec; - Some improvements at s5p and davinci embedded drivers; - Some V4L2 compliance fixes applied on a few drivers; - Several random trivial patches, including several fixes and a few new board support additions; Notes: 1) Some Exynos media patches were dependent on some -arm fixes that got merged on changeset 782cd9e. That's why this pull request is based that changeset. 2) As promised, I reviewed the pending VB2 DMABUF series. While setting a test environment, it was noticed that the upstream support for Samsung Exynos 4 boards (smdk310 and Origen) are broken upstream, likely due to regressions: both defconfigs are wrong and regulator settings for both boards are broken. That, allied with some bug at the dummy regulator driver, causes OOPSes during boot time. Long story short: even fixing the above, the proposed patches OOPSed when running the DMABUF test. Not sure yet if the OOPSes are due to some other undetected regressions, or due to some bug on the patches. Due to the above, DMABUF patches for vb2 got NACKed for 3.7." * 'v4l_for_linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/mchehab/linux-media: (109 commits) [media] m5mols: Add missing #include <linux/sizes.h> [media] stk1160: Add support for S-Video input Revert "[media] omap3isp: Replace cpu_is_omap3630() with ISP revision check" [media] dvb: LNA implementation changes [media] v4l2-ioctl: fix W=1 warnings [media] v4l2-ioctl: add blocks check for VIDIOC_SUBDEV_G/S_EDID [media] omap3isp: Fix compilation error in ispreg.h [media] rc-msi-digivox-ii: Add full scan keycodes [media] cx25821: testing the wrong variable [media] tda18271-common: hold the I2C adapter during write transfers [media] ds3000: add module parameter to force firmware upload [media] drivers/media: Remove unnecessary semicolon [media] winbond: remove space from driver name [media] iguanair: cannot send data from the stack [media] omap3isp: Replace cpu_is_omap3630() with ISP revision check [media] dvb-usb: print small buffers via %*ph [media] uvc: Add return code check at vb2_queue_init() [media] em28xx: Replace memcpy with struct assignment [media] bt8xx: Add video4linux control V4L2_CID_COLOR_KILLER [media] mem2mem_testdev: Use devm_kzalloc() in probe ... into fbdev-next Omapdss driver changes for the 3.7 merge window. Notable changes: * Basic writeback support for DISPC level. Writeback is not yet usable, though, as we need higher level code to actually expose the writeback feature to userspace. * Rewriting the omapdss output drivers. We're trying to remove the hard links between the omapdss and the panels, and this rewrite work moves us closer to that goal. * Cleanup and restructuring patches that have been made while working on device tree support for omapdss. Device tree support is still some way ahead, but these patches are good cleanups in themselves. * Basic OMAP5 DSS support for DPI and DSI outputs. * Workaround for the problem that GFX overlay's fifo is too small for high resolution scenarios, causing underflows. * Cleanups that remove dependencies to omap platform code.

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound Pull sound updates from Takashi Iwai: "This contains pretty many small commits covering fairly large range of files in sound/ directory. Partly because of additional API support and partly because of constantly developed ASoC and ARM stuff. Some highlights: - Introduced the helper function and documentation for exposing the channel map via control API, as discussed in Plumbers; most of PCI drivers are covered, will follow more drivers later - Most of drivers have been replaced with the new PM callbacks (if the bus is supported) - HD-audio controller got the support of runtime PM and the support of D3 clock-stop. Also changing the power_save option in sysfs kicks off immediately to enable / disable the power-save mode. - Another significant code change in HD-audio is the rewrite of firmware loading code. Other than that, most of changes in HD-audio are continued cleanups and standardization for the generic auto parser and bug fixes (HBR, device-specific fixups), in addition to the support of channel-map API. - Addition of ASoC bindings for the compressed API, used by the mid-x86 drivers. - Lots of cleanups and API refreshes for ASoC codec drivers and DaVinci. - Conversion of OMAP to dmaengine. - New machine driver for Wolfson Microelectronics Bells. - New CODEC driver for Wolfson Microelectronics WM0010. - Enhancements to the ux500 and wm2000 drivers - A new driver for DA9055 and the support for regulator bypass mode." 2012-10-01Merge tag 'multiplatform' of ↵Linus Torvalds14-630/+10
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM soc multiplatform enablement from Olof Johansson: "This is a pretty significant branch. It's the introduction of the first multiplatform support on ARM, and with this (and the later branch) merged, it is now possible to build one kernel that contains support for highbank, vexpress, mvebu, socfpga, and picoxcell. More platforms will be convered over in the next few releases. Two critical last things had to be done for this to be practical and possible: * Today each platform has its own include directory under mach-<mach>/include/mach/*, and traditionally that is where a lot of driver/platform shared definitions have gone, such as platform data structures. They now need to move out to a common location instead, and this branch moves a large number of those out to include/linux/platform_data. * Each platform used to list the device trees to compile for its boards in mach-<mach>/Makefile.boot. Both of the above changes will mean that there are some merge conflicts to come (and some to resolve here). It's a one-time move and once it settles in, we should be good for quite a while. Sorry for the overhead." Pull ARM soc-specific updates from Olof Johansson: "Most notable here is probably the addition of basic support for the BCM2835, an SoC used in some of the Roku 2 players as well as the much-hyped Raspberry Pi, cleaned up and contributed by Stephen Warren. It's still early days on mainline support, with just the basics working. But it has to start somewhere! Beyond that there's some conversions of clock infrastructure on tegra to common clock, misc updates for several other platforms, and OMAP now has its own bus (under drivers/bus) to manage its devices through. This branch adds two new directories outside of arch/arm: drivers/irqchip for new irq controllers, and drivers/bus for the above OMAP bus. 2012-08-23ARM: pmu: remove arm_pmu_type enumerationSudeep KarkadaNagesha1-2/+1
The arm_pmu_type enumeration was initially introduced to identify different PMU types in the system, the usual one being that on the CPU (ARM_PMU_DEVICE_CPU). With the removal of the PMU reservation code and the introduction of devicetree bindings for the CPU PMU, the enumeration is no longer required. This patch removes the enumeration and updates the various CPU PMU platform devices so that they no longer pass an .id field referring to identify the PMU type. Pull PWM subsystem from Thierry Reding: "The new PWM subsystem aims at collecting all implementations of the legacy PWM API and to eventually replace it completely. The subsystem has been in development for over half a year now and many drivers have already been converted. It has been in linux-next for a couple of weeks and there have been no major issues so I think it is ready for inclusion in your tree." Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>: "Very much Ack on the new subsystem. It uses the interface declarations as the previously separate pwm drivers, so nothing changes for now in the drivers using it, although it enables us to change those more easily in the future if we want to. This work is also one of the missing pieces that are required to eventually build ARM kernels for multiple platforms, which is currently prohibited (amongs other things) by the fact that you cannot have more than one driver exporting the pwm functions." 2012-07-23Merge tag 'dt' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-socLinus Torvalds2-65/+34
Pull arm-soc device tree description updates from Arnd Bergmann: "This branch contains two kinds of updates: Some platforms in the process of getting converted to device tree based booting, and the platform specific patches necessary for that are included here. Other platforms are already converted, so we just need to update the actual device tree source files and the binding documents to add support for new board and new drivers. In the future we will probably separate those into two branches, and in the long run, the plan is to move the device tree source files out of the kernel repository, but that has to wait until we have completed a much larger portion of the binding documents."
