Pull PWM subsystem from Thierry Reding: "The new PWM subsystem aims at collecting all implementations of the legacy PWM API and to eventually replace it completely. The subsystem has been in development for over half a year now and many drivers have already been converted. It has been in linux-next for a couple of weeks and there have been no major issues so I think it is ready for inclusion in your tree." It uses the interface declarations as the previously separate pwm drivers, so nothing changes for now in the drivers using it, although it enables us to change those more easily in the future if we want to. Make it easier to switch to the common clock API by making the existing clock API implementation depend on a Kconfig symbol which is enabled when the common clock API is disabled. This means that we can have some SoCs using the common clock API and some using the existing API rather than needing a flag day to convert the entire family of devices over. This patch adds support for Samsung GPIOs with one gpio driver and removes old GPIO drivers which are drivers/gpio-s3c24xx.c, gpio-s3c64xx.c, gpio-s5p64x0.c, gpio-s5pc100.c, gpio-s5pv210.c, gpio-exynos4.c, gpio-plat-samsung.c, plat-samsung/gpio-config.c and gpio.c to support each Samsung SoCs before. Because the gpio-samsung.c can replace old Samsung GPIO drivers. Basically, the gpio-samsung.c has been made by their merging and removing duplicated definitions. Note: gpio-samsung.c includes some SoC dependent codes and it will be replaced next time. 2011-09-14ARM: SAMSUNG: Add common DMA operationsBoojin Kim1-2/+4
This patch adds common DMA operations which are used for Samsung DMA drivers. Currently there are two types of DMA driver for Samsung SoCs. The one is S3C-DMA for S3C SoCs and the other is PL330-DMA for S5P SoCs. This patch provides funcion pointers for common DMA operations to DMA client driver like SPI and Audio. It makes DMA client drivers support multi-platform. In addition, this common DMA operations implement the shared actions that are needed for DMA client driver. For example shared actions are filter() function for dma_request_channel() and parameter passing for device_prep_slave_sg(). This patch adds setup code for Samsung OneNAND controller driver. The driver needs to be aware on which SoC it is running, so the actual device id is being changed in cpu init code. 2010-05-18S3C: DMA: Add api driver for PL330Jassi Brar1-0/+2
Latest Samsung SoCs have one or more PL330 as their DMACs. This patch implements the S3C DMA API for PL330 core driver. The design has been kept as generic as possible while keeping effort to add support for new SoCs to the minimum possible level. Some of the salient features of this driver are:- o Automatic scheduling of client requests onto DMAC if more than one DMAC can reach the peripheral. Factors, such as current load and number of exclusive but inactive peripherals that are supported by the DMAC, are used to decide suitability of a DMAC for a particular client. o CIRCULAR buffer option is supported. o The driver scales transparently with the number of DMACs and total peripherals in the platform, since all peripherals are added to the peripheral pool and DMACs to the controller pool. For most conservative use of memory, smallest driver size and best performance, we don't employ legacy data structures of the S3C DMA API. That should not have any affect since those data structures are completely invisible to the DMA clients.
