2013-10-16ARM: pxa: Initialize PWM backlight enable_gpio fieldThierry Reding1-0/+1
The GPIO API defines 0 as being a valid GPIO number, so this field needs to be initialized explicitly. A special case is the Palm Tungsten|C board. 2012-12-24ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren1-1/+1
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. 2012-07-19[ARM] pxa: remove IRQF_SAMPLE_RANDOM which is now a no-opTheodore Ts'o1-3/+2
With the changes in the random tree, IRQF_SAMPLE_RANDOM is now a no-op; interrupt randomness is now collected unconditionally in a very low-overhead fashion; see commit 775f4b297b. The IRQF_SAMPLE_RANDOM flag was scheduled to be removed in 2009 on the feature-removal-schedule, so this patch is preparation for the final removal of this flag. I've built all the working defconfigs from all the arches that I can and made sure that they don't break. The reason for these patches is that I recently encountered a circular dependency problem that came about when I produced some patches to optimise get_order() by rewriting it to use ilog2(). This uses bitops - and on the SH arch asm/bitops.h drags in asm-generic/get_order.h by a circuituous route involving asm/system.h. The main difficulty seems to be asm/system.h. It holds a number of low level bits with no/few dependencies that are commonly used (eg. memory barriers) and a number of bits with more dependencies that aren't used in many places (eg. switch_to()). These patches break asm/system.h up into the following core pieces: (1) asm/barrier.h Move memory barriers here. This already done for MIPS and Alpha. (2) asm/switch_to.h Move switch_to() and related stuff here. (3) asm/exec.h Move arch_align_stack() here. Other process execution related bits could perhaps go here from asm/processor.h. (4) asm/cmpxchg.h Move xchg() and cmpxchg() here as they're full word atomic ops and frequently used by atomic_xchg() and atomic_cmpxchg(). (5) asm/bug.h Move die() and related bits. (6) asm/auxvec.h Move AT_VECTOR_SIZE_ARCH here. Other arch headers are created as needed on a per-arch basis." 2012-03-06pxa: magician/hx4700: Convert to gpio-regulator from bq24022Heiko Stübner1-6/+27
The bq24022 on these machines is a very simple regulator using gpios. One provides the on/off functionality and a second one is used to change the current between 100 and 500 mA. This functionality can also be provided by the more generic gpio-regulator. Therefore convert both machines which makes it possible to remove the bq24022 driver later on. map_info The set_vpp() method provided by physmap passes a map_info back to the platform code, which has little relevance as far as the platform is concerned (this parameter is completely unused). Instead, pass the platform_device, which can be used in the pismo driver to retrieve some important information in a nicer way, instead of the hack that was in place. The empty set_vpp function in board-at572d940hf_ek.c is left untouched, as the board/SoC is scheduled for removal. 2009-12-01[ARM] pxa: allow platforms to control which uarts are registeredRussell King1-0/+4
For some platforms, it is inappropriate to register all PXA UARTs. In some cases, the UARTs may not be used, and in others we may want to avoid registering the UARTs to allow other drivers (eg, FICP) to make use of the UART. In addition, a while back there was a request to be able to pass platform data to the UART driver. This patch enables all of this by providing functions platforms can call to register each individual UART. With this patch, the bq24022 battery charger is controlled by the USB gadget framework (via gpio_vbus) when connected to USB. To compile, this patch depends on the "regulator: Allow init data to be supplied for bq24022" patch (queued for next in the regulator tree) to add the init_data field to struct bq24022_mach_info. It also depends on the "add optional OTG transceiver and voltage regulator support to pda_power" patch (queued for next in the power supply tree) to enable charging when connected to the AC charger. Direct access to USB host controller registers is considered to be not portable, and is usually a bad sign for poorly abstracted interface. Introduce .flags and .power_on_delay to "struct pxaohci_platform_data" so that most platforms don't bother to write their own .init/.exit() sequences.
