2016-04-25ARM: EXYNOS: Properly skip unitialized parent clock in power domain onKrzysztof Kozlowski1-1/+1
We want to skip reparenting a clock on turning on power domain, if we do not have the parent yet. The parent is obtained when turning the domain off. However due to a typo, the loop is continued on IS_ERR() of clock being reparented, not on the IS_ERR() of the parent. Theoretically this could lead to OOPS on first turn on of a power domain, if there was no turn off before. Practically that should never happen because all power domains are turned on by default (reset value, bootloader does not turn off them usually) so the first action will be always turn off. On each next iteration of for_each_compatible_node() the reference counter for current device node is already decreased by the loop iterator. The manual call to of_node_get() is required only on loop break which is not happening here. The double of_node_get() (with enabled CONFIG_OF_DYNAMIC) lead to decreasing the counter below expected, initial value. 2015-06-06ARM: EXYNOS: Get current parent clock for power domain on/offKrzysztof Kozlowski1-7/+9
Using a fixed (by DTS) parent for clocks when turning on the power domain may introduce issues in other drivers. For example when such driver changes the parent during runtime and expects that he is the only place of such change. Do not rely on DTS providing the fixed parent for such clocks. Instead before switching domain off, grab a current parent of a clock with clk_get_parent(). Prevent possible NULL pointer dereference of pointer returned by of_find_device_by_node(). Handle this by skipping such power domain. Additionally fail the init on kstrdup() failure. Such case is actually not fatal because the name for power domain allocated by kstrdup() is used only in printk. Still as a precaution handle this as an error condition. ERR_PTR was dereferenced during sub domain parsing, if parent domain could not be obtained (because of invalid phandle or deferred registration of parent domain). The Exynos power domain code checked whether of_genpd_get_from_provider() returned NULL and in that case it skipped that power domain node. However this function returns ERR_PTR or valid pointer, not NULL. 2014-07-11ARM: EXYNOS: Add support for clock handling in power domainPrathyush K1-1/+60
While powering on/off a local powerdomain in exynos5 chipsets, the input clocks to each device gets modified. This behaviour is based on the SYSCLK_SYS_PWR_REG registers. E.g. SYSCLK_MFC_SYS_PWR_REG = 0x0, the parent of input clock to MFC (aclk333) gets modified to oscclk = 0x1, no change in clocks. The recommended value of SYSCLK_SYS_PWR_REG before power gating any domain is 0x0. So we must also restore the clocks while powering on a domain everytime. This patch adds the framework for getting the required mux and parent clocks through a power domain device node. With this patch, while powering off a domain, parent is set to oscclk and while powering back on, its re-set to the correct parent which is as per the recommended pd on/off sequence. This patch adds a way to specify bindings between devices and power domains using device tree. A device can be bound to particular power domain by adding a power-domain property containing a phandle to the domain. Commit ca1d72f033 ('PM / Domains: Make it possible to add devices to inactive domains') introduced possibility to add devices to inactive power domains and added pm_genpd_dev_need_restore() function which lets platform core to notify power domain core that the specified device must be restored (with its runtime_resume() callback) before first use. This patch adds the pm_genpd_dev_need_restore() call what brings back the suspend/resume behaviour for the client devices known from the previous power domain driver (removed by commit 91cfbd4ee0 - 'ARM: EXYNOS: Hook up power domains to generic power domain infrastructure'). Client device drivers relay on that suspend/resume behaviour, thus this patch fixes runtime pm operation for client devices.
