Add support for booting DA850 using flattened device tree to describe the hardware. At this time only the very basic bootup using a serial console is supported. Signed-off-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com>
2012-10-27ARM: davinci: da8xx: add DA850 PRUSS supportMatt Porter3-0/+80
Adds PRUSS clock support and registration helper for the uio_pruss device. Signed-off-by: Matt Porter <mporter@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com>
2012-10-27ARM: davinci: add platform hook to fetch the SRAM poolMatt Porter2-0/+8
Adds sram_get_gen_pool() which allows platform code to get the machine's SRAM gen_pool. The gen_pool may be passed in platform data for driver genalloc use. Signed-off-by: Matt Porter <mporter@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com>
2012-10-27ARM: davinci: da850: changed SRAM allocator to shared ram.Subhasish Ghosh2-2/+3
This patch modifies the sram allocator to allocate memory from the DA8XX shared RAM. Regression tested suspend/resume on AM180x EVM. Signed-off-by: Subhasish Ghosh <subhasish@mistralsolutions.com> [rebased onto consolidated SRAM patches] Signed-off-by: Ben Gardiner <bengardiner@nanometrics.ca> [rebased to mainline as consolidated SRAM patches were dropped] Signed-off-by: Matt Porter <mporter@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com>
2012-10-27ARM: davinci: sram: switch from iotable to ioremapped regionsBen Gardiner7-35/+15
The current davinci init sets up SRAM in iotables. There has been an observed failure to boot a da850 with 128K specified in the iotable. Make the davinci sram allocator do an ioremap of the region specified by the entries in davinci_soc_info before registering with gen_pool_add_virt(). Remove all iotable SRAM mappings and SRAM_VIRT. Regression tested suspend/resume on AM180x EVM. Signed-off-by: Ben Gardiner <bengardiner@nanometrics.ca> Signed-off-by: Matt Porter <mporter@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com>
2012-10-27ARM: davinci: serial: provide API to initialze UART clocksSekhar Nori2-12/+28
Provide an API to initialize a UART clock. Refactor existing davinci_serial_init() to separate out the part which enables the clock. This will later be used to help DA850 DT boot support. Signed-off-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com>
2012-10-24ARM: davinci: convert platform code to use clk_prepare/clk_unpreparem-karicheri2@ti.com8-12/+12
As a first step towards migrating davinci platforms to use common clock framework, replace all instances of clk_enable() with clk_prepare_enable() and clk_disable() with clk_disable_unprepare(). Until the platform is switched to use the CONFIG_HAVE_CLK_PREPARE Kconfig variable, this just adds a might_sleep() call and would work without any issues. This will make it easy later to switch to common clk based implementation of clk driver from DaVinci specific driver. 2012-10-13ARM: config: sort select statements alphanumericallyRussell King1-8/+8
As suggested by Andrew Morton: This is a pet peeve of mine. Any time there's a long list of items (header file inclusions, kconfig entries, array initalisers, etc) and someone wants to add a new item, they *always* go and stick it at the end of the list. Guys, don't do this. Either put the new item into a randomly-chosen position or, probably better, alphanumerically sort the list. lets sort all our select statements alphanumerically. This commit was created by the following perl: while (<>) { while (/\\\s*$/) { $_ .= <>; } undef %selects if /^\s*config\s+/; if (/^\s+select\s+(\w+).*/) { if (defined($selects{$1})) { if ($selects{$1} eq $_) { print STDERR "Warning: removing duplicated $1 entry\n"; } else { print STDERR "Error: $1 differently selected\n". "\tOld: $selects{$1}\n". "\tNew: $_\n"; exit 1; } } $selects{$1} = $_; next; } if (%selects and (/^\s*$/ or /^\s+help/ or /^\s+---help---/ or /^endif/ or /^endchoice/)) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } undef %selects; } print; } if (%selects) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } } It found two duplicates: Warning: removing duplicated S5P_SETUP_MIPIPHY entry Warning: removing duplicated HARDIRQS_SW_RESEND entry and they are identical duplicates, hence the shrinkage in the diffstat of two lines. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/mchehab/linux-media Pull second set of media updates from Mauro Carvalho Chehab: "Despite its size, most of the stuff here is trivial. This series contains: - s5p-mfc: additions at the driver and at the core to support H.264 hardware codec; - Some improvements at s5p and davinci embedded drivers; - Some V4L2 compliance fixes applied on a few drivers; - Several random trivial patches, including several fixes and a few new board support additions; Notes: 1) Some Exynos media patches were dependent on some -arm fixes that got merged on changeset 782cd9e. That's why this pull request is based that changeset. 2) As promised, I reviewed the pending VB2 DMABUF series. While setting a test environment, it was noticed that the upstream support for Samsung Exynos 4 boards (smdk310 and Origen) are broken upstream, likely due to regressions: both defconfigs are wrong and regulator settings for both boards are broken. That, allied with some bug at the dummy regulator driver, causes OOPSes during boot time. Long story short: even fixing the above, the proposed patches OOPSed when running the DMABUF test. Not sure yet if the OOPSes are due to some other undetected regressions, or due to some bug on the patches. Due to the above, DMABUF patches for vb2 got NACKed for 3.7." * 'v4l_for_linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/mchehab/linux-media: (109 commits) [media] m5mols: Add missing #include <linux/sizes.h> [media] stk1160: Add support for S-Video input Revert "[media] omap3isp: Replace cpu_is_omap3630() with ISP revision check" [media] dvb: LNA implementation changes [media] v4l2-ioctl: fix W=1 warnings [media] v4l2-ioctl: add blocks check for VIDIOC_SUBDEV_G/S_EDID [media] omap3isp: Fix compilation error in ispreg.h [media] rc-msi-digivox-ii: Add full scan keycodes [media] cx25821: testing the wrong variable [media] tda18271-common: hold the I2C adapter during write transfers [media] ds3000: add module parameter to force firmware upload [media] drivers/media: Remove unnecessary semicolon [media] winbond: remove space from driver name [media] iguanair: cannot send data from the stack [media] omap3isp: Replace cpu_is_omap3630() with ISP revision check [media] dvb-usb: print small buffers via %*ph [media] uvc: Add return code check at vb2_queue_init() [media] em28xx: Replace memcpy with struct assignment [media] bt8xx: Add video4linux control V4L2_CID_COLOR_KILLER [media] mem2mem_testdev: Use devm_kzalloc() in probe ... git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound Pull sound updates from Takashi Iwai: "This contains pretty many small commits covering fairly large range of files in sound/ directory. Partly because of additional API support and partly because of constantly developed ASoC and ARM stuff. Some highlights: - Introduced the helper function and documentation for exposing the channel map via control API, as discussed in Plumbers; most of PCI drivers are covered, will follow more drivers later - Most of drivers have been replaced with the new PM callbacks (if the bus is supported) - HD-audio controller got the support of runtime PM and the support of D3 clock-stop. Also changing the power_save option in sysfs kicks off immediately to enable / disable the power-save mode. - Another significant code change in HD-audio is the rewrite of firmware loading code. Other than that, most of changes in HD-audio are continued cleanups and standardization for the generic auto parser and bug fixes (HBR, device-specific fixups), in addition to the support of channel-map API. - Addition of ASoC bindings for the compressed API, used by the mid-x86 drivers. - Lots of cleanups and API refreshes for ASoC codec drivers and DaVinci. - Conversion of OMAP to dmaengine. - New machine driver for Wolfson Microelectronics Bells. - New CODEC driver for Wolfson Microelectronics WM0010. - Enhancements to the ux500 and wm2000 drivers - A new driver for DA9055 and the support for regulator bypass mode." 2012-10-07ARM: davinci: don't mark da850_register_cpufreq as __initArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
The mityomapl138_cpufreq_init and read_factory_config function in board-mityomapl138.c are not __init functions and might be called at a later stage, so da850_register_cpufreq must not be __init either. 2012-10-05[media] media: davinci: vpif: display: separate out subdev from outputLad, Prabhakar2-11/+66
vpif_display relied on a 1-1 mapping of output and subdev. This is not necessarily the case. Separate the two. So there is a list of subdevs and a list of outputs. Each output refers to a subdev and has routing information. An output does not have to have a subdev. The initial output for each channel is set to the fist output. Currently missing is support for associating multiple subdevs with an output. Davinci McASP header & driver are shared by few OMAP platforms (like TI81xx, AM335x). Splitting asp header into Davinci platform specific header and Audio specific header helps to share them across platforms. Audio specific defines is moved to to common <linux/platform_data/davinci_asp.h> so that the header can be accessed by all related platforms. Pull arm-soc device tree description updates from Arnd Bergmann: "This branch contains two kinds of updates: Some platforms in the process of getting converted to device tree based booting, and the platform specific patches necessary for that are included here. Other platforms are already converted, so we just need to update the actual device tree source files and the binding documents to add support for new board and new drivers. In the future we will probably separate those into two branches, and in the long run, the plan is to move the device tree source files out of the kernel repository, but that has to wait until we have completed a much larger portion of the binding documents." 2012-07-09ARM: davinci: da8xx: fix interrupt handlingSekhar Nori1-5/+3
CP_INTC code in entry-macro.S code reads SECR1n register to see if an interrupt was indeed pending. This register is actually marked as write-only in the OMAP-L138 TRM. Moreover, the code just checks to see the entire register is non-zero and does not check a specific interrupt number. Fix this to use interrupt pending bit in GIPR register for this purpose. GIPR register is already being read to know the highest priority interrupt pending. Signed-off-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com>

2012-05-09ARM: davinci: optimize the DMA ISRSebastian Andrzej Siewior1-35/+34
The ISR does quiete a lot of hw access which could be avoided. First it checks for a pending interrupt by reading alteast one register. Then it checks for the "activated" slots by reading another register. This is more or a less a must. Now, once it found an active slot it does the same two reads again. After that it "knows" that there must be a pending transfer however it cross checks with the other register. There are 32 bit in an interger which are polled instead of considering only the set bits and ignoring those which are zero. This performs atleast 32 reads which could be avoided. In case of a first match it does another read. This patch reorganizes the access by re-using the register which have been read and then uses ffs() to find the matching slot instead looping over it. By doing this we get rid of the last (32 + 2 + hits) reads. It is possible however that by really busy bank0 we never get to handle bank1. If this is a problem, we could try to handle bank1 after we are done with bank0 to check if there are any outstanding transfers. To put some numbers on this, this is from spi transfer via spidev. The first column is the number of total transfers, the time stamp is taken before and after the ioctl(): |10000, min: 542us avg: 591us |20000, min: 542us avg: 592us |30000, min: 542us avg: 592us |40000, min: 542us avg: 585us |50000, min: 542us avg: 593us The same test case with the patch applied |10000, min: 444us avg: 493us |20000, min: 444us avg: 491us |30000, min: 444us avg: 489us |40000, min: 444us avg: 491us |50000, min: 444us avg: 492us that is almost 100us that just went away.
