2018-05-16proc: introduce proc_create_single{,_data}Christoph Hellwig1-13/+1
Variants of proc_create{,_data} that directly take a seq_file show callback and drastically reduces the boilerplate code in the callers. All trivial callers converted over. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de>
2014-11-21ARM: convert printk(KERN_* to pr_*Russell King1-15/+11
Convert many (but not all) printk(KERN_* to pr_* to simplify the code. We take the opportunity to join some printk lines together so we don't split the message across several lines, and we also add a few levels to some messages which were previously missing them. Tested-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Tested-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2011-09-13locking, ARM: Annotate low level hw locks as rawThomas Gleixner1-1/+1
Annotate the low level hardware locks which must not be preempted. In mainline this change documents the low level nature of the lock - otherwise there's no functional difference. Lockdep and Sparse checking will work as usual. Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Cc: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk> Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
2010-04-14ARM: dma: add /proc/dma support to arch/arm/kernel/dma.cRussell King1-0/+36
We have our own private implementation for ISA-like DMA which has been missing exposure via the /proc/dma interface. Add support for this. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2009-01-02[ARM] dma: remove dmamode_t typedefRussell King1-1/+1
Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-12-11[ARM] dma: ensure that the single entry sg is properly initializedRussell King1-0/+4
Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-12-11[ARM] dma: rejig DMA initializationRussell King1-12/+13
Rather than having the central DMA multiplexer call the architecture specific DMA initialization function, have each architecture DMA initialization function use core_initcall(), and register each DMA channel separately with the multiplexer. This removes the array of dma structures in the central multiplexer, replacing it with an array of pointers instead; this is more flexible since it allows the drivers to wrap the DMA structure (eventually allowing us to transition non-ISA DMA drivers away.) Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-12-08[ARM] dma: factor out code looking up the DMA channelRussell King1-14/+24
This is a preparitory patch to allow us to easily change the way we add and lookup DMA channel structures. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-12-08[ARM] dma: remove dmach_t typedefRussell King1-43/+43
Remove a pointless integer typedef. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-10-10proc: remove unused get_dma_list()Alexey Dobriyan1-17/+0

2007-03-31[ARM] Export dma_channel_active()Russell King1-0/+1
dma_channel_active() is used by some modules and is part of our DMA API, so export it. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-01-04[ARM] Move DMA exports to be next to each functionRussell King1-14/+12
Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-01-04[ARM] Remove definition of MAX_DMA_CHANNELS to zeroRussell King1-28/+0
Since we now only build arch/arm/kernel/dma.c on machine types which set ISA_DMA_API, we don't need to define MAX_DMA_CHANNELS to 0 to indicate this - this definition becomes superfluous. Remove it. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-01-04[ARM] Use core_initcall() to initialise ARM DMARussell King1-2/+4
There's no need to have DMA initialised at the same time as interrupts. Move it to a core_initcall(). Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-01-04[ARM] Remove '__address' from scatterlist and convert to DMA APIRussell King1-9/+4
The old __address element in struct scatterlist remained from older kernels because the ARM DMA emulation code made use of it. Move this field into struct dma_struct, and convert DMA emulation code to setup a SG entry as required. Also, convert DMA emulation code to use the new DMA API rather than the PCI DMA API. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-01-04[ARM] Move ISA DMA bus_to_virt() out of set_dma_addr()Russell King1-4/+4
Allow the compiler to optimise the bus_to_virt(virt_to_bus()) transformation in the ARM ISA DMA interface. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-01-03[ARM] Cleanup ARM includesRussell King1-2/+0
arch/arm/kernel/entry-armv.S has contained a comment suggesting that asm/hardware.h and asm/arch/irqs.h should be moved into the asm/arch/entry-macro.S include. So move the includes to these two files as required. Add missing includes (asm/hardware.h, asm/io.h) to asm/arch/system.h includes which use those facilities, and remove asm/io.h from kernel/process.c. Remove other unnecessary includes from arch/arm/kernel, arch/arm/mm and arch/arm/mach-footbridge. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
