This patch add the sysfs and hwmon entries that are exposed by the driver. Goya has several sensors, from various categories such as temperature, voltage, current, etc. The driver exposes those sensors in the standard hwmon mechanism. In addition, the driver exposes a couple of interfaces in sysfs, both for configuration and for providing status of the device or driver. 2019-02-14Drivers: hv: vmbus: Expose counters for interrupts and full conditionsKimberly Brown1-0/+33
Counter values for per-channel interrupts and ring buffer full conditions are useful for investigating performance. Expose counters in sysfs for 2 types of guest to host interrupts: 1) Interrupts caused by the channel's outbound ring buffer transitioning from empty to not empty 2) Interrupts caused by the channel's inbound ring buffer transitioning from full to not full while a packet is waiting for enough buffer space to become available Expose 2 counters in sysfs for the number of times that write operations encountered a full outbound ring buffer: 1) The total number of write operations that encountered a full condition 2) The number of write operations that were the first to encounter a full condition Increment the outbound full condition counters in the hv_ringbuffer_write() function because, for most drivers, a full outbound ring buffer is detected in that function. Also increment the outbound full condition counters in the set_channel_pending_send_size() function. In the hv_sock driver, a full outbound ring buffer is detected and set_channel_pending_send_size() is called before hv_ringbuffer_write() is called. I tested this patch by confirming that the sysfs files were created and observing the counter values. The values seemed to increase by a reasonable amount when the Hyper-v related drivers were in use. While typing these I think doing an s/component_master/aggregate/ would be useful: - it's shorter :-) - I think component/aggregate is much more meaningful naming than component/puppetmaster or something like that. But that's way more than a quick doc typing exercise ... 2019-01-30fs/dcache: Track & report number of negative dentriesWaiman Long1-10/+16
The current dentry number tracking code doesn't distinguish between positive & negative dentries. It just reports the total number of dentries in the LRU lists. As excessive number of negative dentries can have an impact on system performance, it will be wise to track the number of positive and negative dentries separately. This patch adds tracking for the total number of negative dentries in the system LRU lists and reports it in the 5th field in the /proc/sys/fs/dentry-state file. The number, however, does not include negative dentries that are in flight but not in the LRU yet as well as those in the shrinker lists which are on the way out anyway. The number of positive dentries in the LRU lists can be roughly found by subtracting the number of negative dentries from the unused count. Matthew Wilcox had confirmed that since the introduction of the dentry_stat structure in 2.1.60, the dummy array was there, probably for future extension. They were not replacements of pre-existing fields. So no sane applications that read the value of /proc/sys/fs/dentry-state will do dummy thing if the last 2 fields of the sysctl parameter are not zero. 2019-01-30iommu/vt-d: Leave scalable mode default offLu Baolu1-4/+3
Commit 765b6a98c1de3 ("iommu/vt-d: Enumerate the scalable mode capability") enables VT-d scalable mode if hardware advertises the capability. As we will bring up different features and use cases to upstream in different patch series, it will leave some intermediate kernel versions which support partial features. Hence, end user might run into problems when they use such kernels on bare metals or virtualization environments. This leaves scalable mode default off and end users could turn it on with "intel-iommu=sm_on" only when they have clear ideas about which scalable features are supported in the kernel. Turns out this is not such a great idea. Once the SP clock is disabled, it's not sufficient to just enable in order to bring the SP core back up. 2019-01-22interconnect: Add generic on-chip interconnect APIGeorgi Djakov1-0/+94
This patch introduces a new API to get requirements and configure the interconnect buses across the entire chipset to fit with the current demand. The API is using a consumer/provider-based model, where the providers are the interconnect buses and the consumers could be various drivers. The consumers request interconnect resources (path) between endpoints and set the desired constraints on this data flow path. The providers receive requests from consumers and aggregate these requests for all master-slave pairs on that path. Then the providers configure each node along the path to support a bandwidth that satisfies all bandwidth requests that cross through that node. The topology could be complicated and multi-tiered and is SoC specific. The changes introduced to allow rxrpc calls to be retried creates an issue when it comes to refcounting afs_call structs. The problem is that when rxrpc_send_data() queues the last packet for an asynchronous call, the following sequence can occur: (1) The notify_end_tx callback is invoked which causes the state in the afs_call to be changed from AFS_CALL_CL_REQUESTING or AFS_CALL_SV_REPLYING. (2) afs_deliver_to_call() can then process event notifications from rxrpc on the async_work queue. (3) Delivery of events, such as an abort from the server, can cause the afs_call state to be changed to AFS_CALL_COMPLETE on async_work. (4) For an asynchronous call, afs_process_async_call() notes that the call is complete and tried to clean up all the refs on async_work. (5) rxrpc_send_data() might return the amount of data transferred (success) or an error - which could in turn reflect a local error or a received error. Synchronising the clean up after rxrpc_kernel_send_data() returns an error with the asynchronous cleanup is then tricky to get right. Mostly revert commit c038a58ccfd6704d4d7d60ed3d6a0fca13cf13a4. The two API functions the original commit added aren't currently used. This makes rxrpc_kernel_send_data() always return successfully if it queued the data it was given. Note that this doesn't affect synchronous calls since their Rx notification function merely pokes a wait queue and does not refcounting. The asynchronous call notification function *has* to do refcounting and pass a ref over the work item to avoid the need to sync the workqueue in call cleanup.
