2020-05-31mtd: rawnand: Stop using nand_release()Miquel Raynal1-2/+4
This helper is not very useful and very often people get confused: they use nand_release() instead of nand_cleanup(). Now that all drivers have been converted to do not use nand_release() anymore, let's remove this helper. 2018-10-03mtd: rawnand: Deprecate ->chip_delayBoris Brezillon1-1/+1
The wait timeouts and delays are directly extracted from the NAND timings and ->chip_delay is only used in legacy path, so let's move it to the nand_legacy struct to make it clear. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Miquel Raynal <miquel.raynal@bootlin.com>
2018-10-03mtd: rawnand: Deprecate ->dev_ready() and ->waitfunc()Boris Brezillon1-2/+2
Those hooks have been replaced by ->exec_op(). Move them to the nand_legacy struct. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Miquel Raynal <miquel.raynal@bootlin.com>
2018-10-03mtd: rawnand: Create a legacy struct and move ->IO_ADDR_{R, W} thereBoris Brezillon1-12/+12
We regularly have new NAND controller drivers that are making use of fields/hooks that we want to get rid of but can't because of all the legacy drivers that we might break if we do. So, instead of removing those fields/hooks, let's move them to a sub-struct which is clearly documented as deprecated. We start with the ->IO_ADDR_{R,W] fields. 2018-10-03mtd: rawnand: Pass a nand_chip object to nand_release()Boris Brezillon1-1/+1
Let's make the raw NAND API consistent by patching all helpers to take a nand_chip object instead of an mtd_info one. Now is nand_release()'s turn. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Miquel Raynal <miquel.raynal@bootlin.com>
2018-10-03mtd: rawnand: Pass a nand_chip object to nand_scan()Boris Brezillon1-1/+1
Let's make the raw NAND API consistent by patching all helpers to take a nand_chip object instead of an mtd_info one. We start with nand_scan(). Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Miquel Raynal <miquel.raynal@bootlin.com>
2018-07-23mtd: nand: correct documentation for NAND_ECC_HW8_512Marcel Ziswiler1-2/+2
The documentation for this parameter said "6 bytes" when "8 bytes" was intended; correct it. Signed-off-by: Marcel Ziswiler <marcel.ziswiler@toradex.com> Signed-off-by: Jonathan Corbet <corbet@lwn.net>
2018-02-16mtd: nand: move raw NAND related code to the raw/ subdirBoris Brezillon1-4/+4
As part of the process of sharing more code between different NAND based devices, we need to move all raw NAND related code to the raw/ subdirectory. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com>
2017-08-13mtd: nand: Rename nand.h into rawnand.hBoris Brezillon1-4/+4
We are planning to share more code between different NAND based devices (SPI NAND, OneNAND and raw NANDs), but before doing that we need to move the existing include/linux/mtd/nand.h file into include/linux/mtd/rawnand.h so we can later create a nand.h header containing all common structure and function prototypes. 2017-05-16mtdnand.rst: group the "::" with previous lineMauro Carvalho Chehab1-17/+7
Group the :: with the previous paragraph, in order to make it visually better when reading as a text file. While here, replace: ored (with means "Covered or adorned with ore or metal") by: OR-ed To reflect its true meaning. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2017-05-16docs-rst: convert mtdnand book to ReSTMauro Carvalho Chehab1-0/+1020
Use pandoc to convert documentation to ReST by calling Documentation/sphinx/tmplcvt script. The tables were manually adjusted to fit into 80 columns. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
