2018-07-25dt-bindings: remove 'interrupt-parent' from bindingsRob Herring1-1/+0
'interrupt-parent' is often documented as part of define bindings, but it is really outside the scope of a device binding. It's never required in a given node as it is often inherited from a parent node. Or it can be implicit if a parent node is an 'interrupt-controller' node. So remove it from all the binding files. Fun set of conflict resolutions here... For the mac80211 stuff, these were fortunately just parallel adds. Trivially resolved. In drivers/net/phy/phy.c we had a bug fix in 'net' that moved the function phy_disable_interrupts() earlier in the file, whilst in 'net-next' the phy_error() call from this function was removed. In net/ipv4/xfrm4_policy.c, David Ahern's changes to remove the 'rt_table_id' member of rtable collided with a bug fix in 'net' that added a new struct member "rt_mtu_locked" which needs to be copied over here. The mlxsw driver conflict consisted of net-next separating the span code and definitions into separate files, whilst a 'net' bug fix made some changes to that moved code. The mlx5 infiniband conflict resolution was quite non-trivial, the RDMA tree's merge commit was used as a guide here, and here are their notes: ==================== Due to bug fixes found by the syzkaller bot and taken into the for-rc branch after development for the 4.17 merge window had already started being taken into the for-next branch, there were fairly non-trivial merge issues that would need to be resolved between the for-rc branch and the for-next branch. This merge resolves those conflicts and provides a unified base upon which ongoing development for 4.17 can be based. Conflicts: drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/main.c - Commit 42cea83f9524 (IB/mlx5: Fix cleanup order on unload) added to for-rc and commit b5ca15ad7e61 (IB/mlx5: Add proper representors support) add as part of the devel cycle both needed to modify the init/de-init functions used by mlx5. To support the new representors, the new functions added by the cleanup patch needed to be made non-static, and the init/de-init list added by the representors patch needed to be modified to match the init/de-init list changes made by the cleanup patch. Updates: drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/mlx5_ib.h - Update function prototypes added by representors patch to reflect new function names as changed by cleanup patch drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/ib_rep.c - Update init/de-init stage list to match new order from cleanup patch ==================== Signed-off-by: David S. 2018-03-16net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: Fix binding documentation for MDIO bussesAndrew Lunn1-23/+25
The MDIO busses are switch properties and so should be inside the switch node. Fix the examples in the binding document. 2018-03-07dt-bindings: net: dsa: marvell: describe compatibility stringBrandon Streiff1-1/+10
There are two compatibility strings for mv88e6xxx, but it isn't clear from the documentation why only those two exist when the mv88e6xxx driver supports more than the 6085 and 6190. Briefly describe how the compatible property is used, and provide guidance on which to use. The model list comes from looking at port_base_addr values (0x0 vs 0x10) in drivers/net/dsa/mv88e6xxx/chip.c. 2017-05-27net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: Add eeprom-length to bindingAndrew Lunn1-0/+4
The binding documentation for the mv88e6xxx switch is missing the eeprom-length property, which has been implemented since May 2016, commit f8cd8753def0 ("dsa: mv88e6xxx: Handle eeprom-length property") Signed-off-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2017-01-25Doc: DT: bindings: net: dsa: marvell.txt: TabificationAndrew Lunn1-56/+56
Replace spaces with tabs. Fix indentation to be multiples of tabs, not a mixture or tabs and spaces. Signed-off-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2017-01-24net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: Support multiple MDIO bussesAndrew Lunn1-2/+39
The mv88e6390 has multiple MDIO busses. Generalize the parsing of the device tree to support multiple mdio nodes. The external mdio bus has a compatible strings to indicate it is external. Keep a linked list of busses, placing the external mdio bus at the tail of the list. When within the driver an mdio bus is needed, e.g. for EEE or SERDES, use the head of the list which should be the internal bus. Signed-off-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. 2016-11-22net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: Add the mv88e6390 familyAndrew Lunn1-1/+2
With the devices added to the tables, the probe will recognize the switch. This however is not sufficient to make it work properly, other changes are needed because of incompatibilities. Signed-off-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-10-17net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: Implement interrupt support.Andrew Lunn1-1/+20
The switch can have up to two interrupt controllers. One of these contains the interrupts from the integrated PHYs, so is useful to export. The Marvell PHY driver can then be used in interrupt mode, rather than polling, speeding up PHY handling and reducing load on the MDIO bus. 2016-05-11dsa: Move gpio reset into switch driverAndrew Lunn1-0/+8
Resetting the switch is something the driver does, not the framework. So move the parsing of this property into the driver. There are no in kernel users of this property, so moving it does not break anything. There is however a board which will make use of this property making its way into the kernel. 2016-05-11dsa: Add mdio device support to Marvell switchesAndrew Lunn1-0/+27
Allow Marvell switches to be mdio devices. Currently the driver just allocate the private structure and detects what device is on the bus. Later patches will make them register with the DSA framework. Signed-off-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
