The parallel port nodes should be numbered 1 and 2, not 0 and 1 for A and B respectively. The driver has always implemented 1 and 2 and the in-tree Goni DTS uses 1 as port A as well. Update the documentation to match this behaviour. 2020-08-14dt-bindings: Remove more cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'Rob Herring1-23/+20
Another wack-a-mole pass of killing off unnecessary 'allOf + $ref' usage. json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other keywords. The json-schema library doesn't yet support this, but the tooling now does a fixup for this and either way works. Now that the IOMMU driver has been introduced, it prevents any access from a DMA master going through it that hasn't properly mapped the pages, and that link is set up through the iommus property. Unfortunately we forgot to add that property to the video engine node when adding the IOMMU node, so now any DMA access is broken. 2020-06-11dt-bindings: Fix more incorrect 'reg' property sizes in examplesRob Herring2-2/+2
The examples template is a 'simple-bus' with a size of 1 cell for had between 2 and 4 cells which really only errors on I2C or SPI type devices with a single cell. The easiest fix in most cases is to change the 'reg' property to 1 cell for address and size. 2020-05-14dt-bindings: Fix incorrect 'reg' property sizesRob Herring6-8/+8
The examples template is a 'simple-bus' with a size of 1 cell for had between 2 and 4 cells which really only errors on I2C or SPI type devices with a single cell. The easiest fix in most cases is to change the 'reg' property to for 1 cell address and size. In some cases with child devices having 2 cells, that doesn't make sense so a bus node is needed. 2020-05-03dt-bindings: Remove cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'Rob Herring5-145/+139
json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other keywords. The json-schema library doesn't yet support this, but the tooling now does a fixup for this and either way works. This has been a constant source of review comments, so let's change this treewide so everyone copies the simpler syntax. Scripted with ruamel.yaml with some manual fixups. Some minor whitespace changes from the script. 2020-03-31dt-bindings: Add missing 'additionalProperties: false'Rob Herring3-0/+6
Setting 'additionalProperties: false' is frequently omitted, but is important in order to check that there aren't extra undocumented properties in a binding. Ideally, we'd just add this automatically and make this the default, but there's some cases where it doesn't work. For example, if a common schema is referenced, then properties in the common schema aren't part of what's considered for 'additionalProperties'. Also, sometimes there are bus specific properties such as 'spi-max-frequency' that go into bus child nodes, but aren't defined in the child node's schema. So let's stick with the json-schema defined default and add 'additionalProperties: false' where needed. This will be a continual review comment and game of wack-a-mole.
