2020-10-07dt-bindings: Explicitly allow additional properties in common schemasRob Herring2-0/+4
In order to add meta-schema checks for additional/unevaluatedProperties being present, all schema need to make this explicit. As common/shared schema are included by other schemas, they should always allow for additionalProperties. 2020-10-07dt-bindings: Add missing 'unevaluatedProperties'Rob Herring1-0/+2
This doesn't yet do anything in the tools, but make it explicit so we can check either 'unevaluatedProperties' or 'additionalProperties' is present in schemas. 'unevaluatedProperties' is appropriate when including another schema (via '$ref') and all possible properties and/or child nodes are not explicitly listed in the schema with the '$ref'. This is in preparation to add a meta-schema to check for missing 'unevaluatedProperties' or 'additionalProperties'. This has been a constant source of review issues. 2020-06-11dt-bindings: Remove more cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'Rob Herring1-12/+9
Another round of 'allOf' removals that came in this cycle. json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other keywords. The json-schema library doesn't yet support this, but the tooling now does a fixup for this and either way works. This has been a constant source of review comments, so let's change this treewide so everyone copies the simpler syntax. Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>

2018-08-22ata: libahci_platform: add reset control supportKunihiko Hayashi1-0/+1
Add support to get and control a list of resets for the device as optional and shared. These resets must be kept de-asserted until the device is enabled. This is specified as shared because some SoCs like UniPhier series have common reset controls with all ahci controller instances. However, according to Thierry's view, https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-ide/msg55357.html some hardware-specific drivers already use their own resets, and the common reset make a path to occur double controls of resets. The ahci_platform_get_resources() can get and control the reset only when the second argument includes AHCI_PLATFORM_GET_RESETS bit. 2018-07-25dt-bindings: remove 'interrupt-parent' from bindingsRob Herring2-3/+0
'interrupt-parent' is often documented as part of define bindings, but it is really outside the scope of a device binding. It's never required in a given node as it is often inherited from a parent node. Or it can be implicit if a parent node is an 'interrupt-controller' node. So remove it from all the binding files. 2017-09-05dt-bindings: Remove "status" from examplesRob Herring2-3/+0
Pretty much any node can have a status property, so it doesn't need to be in examples. Converted with the following command and removed examples with SoC and board specific splits: git grep -l -E 'status.*=.*' Documentation/devicetree/ | xargs sed -i -E '/\sstatus.*=.*"(disabled|ok|okay)/d' Acked-by: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com> Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>

2017-07-15ata: sata_rcar: add gen[23] fallback compatibility stringsSimon Horman1-3/+11
Add fallback compatibility string for R-Car Gen 2 and 3. In the case of Renesas R-Car hardware we know that there are generations of SoCs, e.g. Gen 1 and 2. But beyond that its not clear what the relationship between IP blocks might be. For example, I believe that r8a7790 is older than r8a7791 but that doesn't imply that the latter is a descendant of the former or vice versa. We can, however, by examining the documentation and behaviour of the hardware at run-time observe that the current driver implementation appears to be compatible with the IP blocks on SoCs within a given generation. For the above reasons and convenience when enabling new SoCs a per-generation fallback compatibility string scheme being adopted for drivers for Renesas SoCs. 2017-06-12ata: Add DT bindings for Faraday Technology FTIDE010Linus Walleij1-0/+38
This adds device tree bindings for the Faraday Technology FTIDE010 found in the Storlink/Storm/Cortina Systems Gemini SoC. I am not 100% sure that this part is from Faraday Technology but a lot points in that direction: - A later IDE interface called FTIDE020 exist and share some properties. - The SATA bridge has the same Built In Self Test (BIST) that the Faraday FTSATA100 seems to have, and it has version number 0100 in the device ID register, so this is very likely a FTSATA100 bundled with the FTIDE010.
