2020-09-04arm64: mte: Add Memory Tagging Extension documentationVincenzo Frascino1-0/+1
Memory Tagging Extension (part of the ARMv8.5 Extensions) provides a mechanism to detect the sources of memory related errors which may be vulnerable to exploitation, including bounds violations, use-after-free, use-after-return, use-out-of-scope and use before initialization errors. Add Memory Tagging Extension documentation for the arm64 linux kernel support. 2020-06-19docs: arm64: convert perf.txt to ReST formatMauro Carvalho Chehab1-0/+1
This file is almost in ReST. All it needs is a rename and adding a :field: for the two fields at the beginning (author and date). While here, add a proper SPDX header, and use the standard markup for document titles, just for consistency. 2020-03-06Documentation: arm64: document support for the AMU extensionIonela Voinescu1-0/+1
The activity monitors extension is an optional extension introduced by the ARMv8.4 CPU architecture. Add initial documentation for the AMUv1 extension: - arm64/amu.txt: AMUv1 documentation - arm64/booting.txt: system registers initialisation Signed-off-by: Ionela Voinescu <ionela.voinescu@arm.com> Reviewed-by: Valentin Schneider <valentin.schneider@arm.com> Cc: Jonathan Corbet <corbet@lwn.net> Cc: Will Deacon <will@kernel.org> Cc: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com> Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>
2019-08-22arm64: Add tagged-address-abi.rst to index.rstVincenzo Frascino1-0/+1
Documentation/arm64/tagged-address-abi.rst introduces the relaxation of the syscall ABI that allows userspace to pass certain tagged pointers to kernel syscalls. Add the document to index.rst for a correct generation of the table of content. 2019-07-15docs: add arch doc directories to the indexMauro Carvalho Chehab1-2/+0
Now that several arch documents were converted to ReST, add their indexes to Documentation/index.rst and remove the :orphan: from them. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+samsung@kernel.org>
2019-06-14docs: arm64: convert docs to ReST and rename to .rstMauro Carvalho Chehab1-0/+28
The documentation is in a format that is very close to ReST format. The conversion is actually: - add blank lines in order to identify paragraphs; - fixing tables markups; - adding some lists markups; - marking literal blocks; - adjust some title markups. At its new index.rst, let's add a :orphan: while this is not linked to the main index.rst file, in order to avoid build warnings.
